Thanks to Ebay Motors for sponsoring this video! CLICK here ebayvehicle.com/app/Donut to search through thousands of cars and parts & list those project cars and spare parts sitting around!
Rally cars and drift cars have one major thing in common AND that’s that they both use a hydraulic e-brake to initiate skids! Being able to easily slide around has many perks and it def gains you major points in the cool department BUT is it really worth it? Well it’s something we’ve been wanting for the e36 since its inception so guess we’re gonna find out.
We have a new(ish) channel!
/ @donutpodcasts
Money Pit is where you get to learn about cars as we work on them. Each ep we’ll breakdown how each component works and then we’ll upgrade it. Join us in our journey to build cool cars, learn about them, and drive the crap out of them!

The older I get and the more I know I find myself enjoying videos like this from a different perspective. Younger me was fascinated by learning about things that I had no clue about and I would have found this video so interesting. But now older me that knows a lot about hydraulic and brake fittings finds this interesting because I know what is being talked about, it is no longer a mystery it is a video where if I was there I could have a conversation and provide input into conversations. Great job guys, I love this show.

@@andrewbreadsticks7284 Yup, still got a 2001 318i that's going strong. We inherited it with a few problems that we've fixed as cash permitted, but the big surprise is that nothing new has broken in five years. Once we fixed the central locking, expansion tank and a couple of sensors, she's been like brand new again. That era of BMW was when people bought rather than leased cars, so they made them to last. Now after three years of being leased they'll be sold cheap and make their way to the scrapper a few years later when things fail that really aren't economical to fix. Old beamers are expensive for parts compared to a VW group car, but it's my opinion you got your money's worth with that era of BMW. Later ones have too much electronic gubbins to go wrong, and they're more difficult to work on at home. This BMW is relatively simple to modify by comparison.

As you disconnected the old lines and bypass the abs I just realized how lucky we are to still live in a time when we can modify cars this way. Imagine doing this in 20 years on today's cars. It's gonna be a pain in the ass and in the end, even modified your car will still have no soul.

Actually Zac, if you were using an Oxy-Fuel Set-up, you'd be cutting metal with fire and a jet of oxygen to blow the molten steel away. With a plasma cutter, you're cutting with an electric arc and jet of super heated air, aka plasma.
@reaganharder1480
@reaganharder1480 2 жыл бұрын
Like 90% sure a properly set up oxy-fuel torch has little to no oxygen left after the flame, and thus no jet of oxygen blowing out the molten metal.
@ChrisRand-gf7lz
@ChrisRand-gf7lz 2 жыл бұрын
@@reaganharder1480 Even with the flames properly set (heating and cutting both set to a neutral flame) you still have excess oxygen in an Oxy-Fuel set-up when you press the cutting trigger, as you're actually using the oxygen to turn the molten steel to slag which is also taken away by the same oxygen jet from the cutting head. Without the cutting oxygen, you're able to actually weld with a cutting torch as the neutral flame only gives off CO2, which acts as a shielding gas for the molten metal puddle, preventing it from mixxing with atmospheric gases.
