I have an hunch that those "Lakeland" pencils are Derwent pencils! Derwent are based in Keswick, and also happen have a line of pencils that are called "Lakeland". :)

Claudia Sketches they are apparently Derwent used to be called Cumberland pencil company and the Lakeland pencils you are speaking of are a newer version of the original

Yup Steph, you're talking about fancy still-life paintings! :D I'm sure they have a specific name by now, but I can't recall it... What I do know, is that they got very popular with the elite during the 1800s era because, apparently, painters made up symbolic meanings for fruits and stuff, and the rich people ATE it up like noodles! They were like "Oooh that sounds meaningful, I have to have it!!" Marketing masters, our ancestors were. :3c The cover pic of the Eyeball pencils reminds me a lot of Nils Holgersson!

Not sure if anyone's explained it in the comments already, but rich people used to have artists paint fruits to show off their wealth. Exotic fruits were quite expensive, so having a peeled orange in a painting showed that you were so rich, you could afford to let an orange go to waste like that.

In Germany there is a story about a boy that shrunk and rode on a goose, I think the package shows this tale, this story is called "Nils Holgersson" in German 😊 I also adore your videos and always feel very inspired by them! Thank you so much for making them! Lots of love from Germany 💛

I have a SUPER cool challenge idea!! What if you both drew one half of the page!!! Like you would start by first making a loose circle for the head so it's in the same place, and then one at a time you would cover half the page and draw your part! It would be so coo!!!

The little boy character on the eye ball pencil box is Noddy riding mother goose! A whole bunch of kids books were made about him in the 40s and 50s, I’m lucky enough to still have one I got from my godmother before she was gone. 😊 this video made me happy.

Honestly Steph and stuffed animals is a mood. To the point my husband doesn't bring home me jewelry or flowers when he wants to spoil me. He brings me home adorably stupid stuffed animals. My favorite is a narwhal I've named Nedrick and he's huge. Like the size of a toddler.

I´ve really been enjoying using coloured pencils recently so this was fun to se. The artwork on the box really reminded me of the wonderful adventures of Niels Holgersson about a boy who was shrunken and traveled along with some goose. These kind of fruit bowls I recognise mainly from Stillifes from some Dutch masters around the 17th century.

The "Aesthetic fruit bowls" are a specific part of Dutch 'Vanitas' Art. Attached to this type of symbolic painting style is the latin phrase "Momento Mori" meaning 'remeber you will die'. Sooooo Aesthetic.

TheMightyUnicatOfDoom I thought of that too. Is is written by the swedish author Selma Lagerlöf. Here in Sweden we have a movie about Nils. But there is also an anime adaptation therefore, I suppose, the japanese pencils. Sorry for being quite the nerd, litterature is fun.

I think Lakeland pencils art part of Derwent pencils. They have a pencil museum, we visited when we went to the Lake District a few years ago,. The museum is amazing and shows how they used to make pencils and how they make them now. Well worth visiting.xxxxx

Oooh, I know where the boy and the goose comes from! It's from a Swedish book called the adventures of Nils Holgersson, where the boy rides on the back of a goose throughout the country ^.^The story was popular enough in Japan to get it's own anime!
