Discouraging people from uploading their Doom achievements is the last thing I want on my conscience. I'm happy you decided to beat it in the end, and what a run!

Don't worry about someone doing a video like that before you. People have different commentary styles so even if it's the same map it's always nice to have another video on a level like that. At the end of the day from the viewer perspective the more the merrier. This map has been on my to-beat list for a while so it's nice to have some extra tips for when I eventually get to it.

nicely done! the cyberdemon in the lofty tower, bizarrely can be taken out by a chaingunner in the middle of the map who cannot be reached by his rockets.

Your introductions to these difficult levels are always so well done. Nice work on getting the clear, and good commentary throughout despite the sound level issue. You're an inspiration!

I want to thank you for this video. After watching Decino's run of SWTW I was... to put it lightly.... heavily discouraged from trying it out at all, despite being highly impressed from what I've seen of Ribbiks' maps. However recently I decided I would play it using your route, mostly from memory apart from the secrets. Although it was with saves, I managed to beat the map. The final fight took a lot of work, but overall I enjoyed the experience. That is also putting it lightly. Although I'm sure this will change if I ever play it without saves, I have found one of my new favorite doom levels. I've always had a minor... disinterest in slaughter type gameplay, instead preferring more of either exploration/adventure maps, or maps focused on tightly condensed challenges/combat puzzles (AKA less monsters in total, but their placement/choice is better utilized vs hordes). The latter is part of the reason I liked Scythe 1 more then the sequel (don't get me wrong Scythe 2 is good, but I personally prefer Scythe 1 outside of map 30). In SWTW I found both of what I was looking for. A heavy focus on exploration along with some brilliantly designed combat puzzles. The Light Blue and Dark Blue key fights are particularly good examples IMO. As I said, thank you for this video, which led me to find (at least with saves) one of my favorite maps. I do have a question (if you end up reading this): Do you have any "shorter" maps you would recommend? Stuff like SWTW in terms of difficulty/cleverness, but shorter and more manageable without saves?

I couldn't agree more with what you say at around 29:55: that first completion's key, after that, I am far less likely to choke on subsequent run throughs but before that, it doesn't matter how much I practice.

Fantastic video and great commentary! This map looks as beautiful as it looks difficult.

I would recommend you turn down the sounds of the game during voiceover. At times it was almost drowning you out.

I’ve never heard of using demon infighting to clear a secret encounter before (the optional cyber demon fight looks insane), But It might be the most big brain strategy in doom
