Really enjoying the videos, and looking forward to what else will be done. I haven’t played any Doom in a while, but I did start Back To Saturn X episode 2, as it came out for the console ports, currently on map 07.

Congratulations on beating this wad. Map 3 was really insane, sadly not in the good sense. Like you said too many completly RNG based fights. It's great when you have a tough fight and you need the right strategy to beat, which enemies to focus on, how to maneuver to not get cornered. Or even clever traps that can easily kill you when you are unprepared but still give you a chance, especially if you know them. Of course there is always some RNG in every fight and every playthrough (Looking at you random stray Cyberdemon Rocket), but atleast the majority of it comes down to ones own skilllevel and adaptability. Even if you die a dozen times in a fight as long as you know it's fair and your death came from you own shortcomings it can be really motivating, pushing one to keep going and overcome that barrier and it just feels amazing if you achieve that. But encounters like the 4 Cyberdemons or the Cyberdemon and Baron bridge are just demotivating as hell, there is no strategy at all. It's sheer luck. Cyberdemon decides to take it's time to shoot the barons and they corner you? Dead. One of the 4 Cyberdemon decides to shoot you or just runs into your path and you get stuck? Dead. It's simply not fun, because it's artificial difficulty and your skill has no impact on the outcome of the event. It's the equivalent of playing roulette and that's something that simply doesn't belong in Doom. It's not what I love about Doom and not the reason I still play and love this game decades later.

Congrats. It's a huge accomplishment to go through this set. It was amazing to watch.

A breath of fresh air, after what you've been through in map 3 SWTW. All in all, a fun set of maps, and yes, definitely raised the bar in terms of hard maps. Well done my friend, you deserve some good rest before moving on to something else.

I'm happy to see the journey through this blue (da ba dee) levelset reach a successful conclusion, and eagerly await the day that decino decides to test himself against Stardate 20X6.

A gib-fest is a nice reward for the insanity that was circle strafing 6 cyber-demons and more. Notch another medal (or skull) for your completion wall. I look forward to what you play next. Been trying my hand at Eviternity and I love it.

On the concept of Ribbiks having improved over time from these maps, it makes me all the more excited about you playing Stardate 20x7, which came out about 4 years after SWTW. Stardate 20x7, with 9 maps and 2 secret maps, was balanced around HMP with UV being a humorously-difficult "Rubik's cube full of demons", as Ribbiks describes it. I have yet to finish a couple maps even on HNTR because some of the gimmicks and fights are so clever, precise, and tightly balanced to all hell. I am eager to see your playthrough of that one in the future.

On Map03 I actually like the song very much, I do agree however that the asthetics were amazing on Map02 but on Map03 it wasn't as good I feel like. I love your videos, keep up the good work:)

consindered you almost cried in map03, that was very epic fight and survival for me! your mind is exhausted from all those 20 deads you went thru there, im also playing TNT Revolution with doom 64 monsters, and weapons, map04 kicked my a**, cuz theres pain elementals in there, and the revenant shoot 2 homing missiles at once to make things complain, i killed all the hard enemies, but the damn pain elemental still alive, and the place got many lost souls, and i was run out of ammo, also my plasma as very slow, i died by a lost soul, i got very mad, he attacked me from behind. well, i will try once again, and keep trying util i pass!

I honestly would not be able to think over the music. Hearing it while you calmly explain stuff is honest making me lose it.
