Definitely one of my favorite meals from childhood. We used to drive 45 minutes to a restaurant called Dutch pantry so we could get their bottled dressing- so we could make taco salad

I've made this to take to an outdoor party, I put everything in separate baggies and toss them in your cooler until you're ready to eat....when I'm ready, I toss them all together in a disposable pan, and it's fresh and crispy... 😋 😋 😋

Love taco salad and use Western salad dressing!! Just found what I want to make for supper tonight 😋

I love it with Western Dressing too. I love it even better when I do a simple salad. Cook your ground Chuck till its well browned I like it to be a little crispy…then remove from the heat and let it cool. Cut up a head of iceberg lettuce, tomatoes, shredded cheddar cheese, or cheese of choice. Mix it all together , add the cooled cooked ground beef along with the Western Dressing and mix well. Before serving add a plain bag of tortilla chips of your choice. mix it all together and serve. You can make a small batch or a large batch.. I take it to cookouts back home and our 55+ Winter Texas’s Park potlucks… Always a hit! I can’t find Western Dressing here in the RGV during the winter… So always bring some with me from the Midwest.. Can’t do without it!

Hi Catherine!!! Your Taco Salad looks super delicious. My family really likes this type of a Salad. Never put corn in mine and we use Ranch.I tried putting Taco Season in it once and my family didnt like it. They knew something was different.I take a big bowl to gatherings. They even want it for Thanksgiving and Christmas...Your recipe looks really yummy. Nice Video!!!...🦋

Looks good. I make mine in layers in 9x13 pan. I use white or yellow tortilla chips, then meat w/ taco seasoning. Layer of sour cream. Layer of shredded cheese., shreded lettuce &tomatoes, green onion , more cheese then taco sauce drizzled. Then you can cut squares. I will try your recipe.

I had a taco salad recipe years ago that used green goddess dressing and avocado, no corn. It was delicious. I wish I still had it. This looks good also.

The salad looks delicious🤗 l like your idea of putting the chips in a bowl instead of adding them in with everything else. I don’t like Nacho Cheese flavored Doritos (yes, I’m weird🤪) but I like the plain or Hint of Lime tostadas which would be good too. Even the Scoops would work (no utensils needed😂😂😂🤣)❤❤❤❤

I can't wait to make this... it looks so yummy ! You surprised me w/ the French dressing! What a great twist. I love sweet salad dressings... Interesting combo with taco seasoned meat. I would never have thought to do that. I was expecting you to put salsa and sour cream/guacamole on top... But this looks so much better! I was wondering if you had worked in a restaurant! The old bang the core on the counter trick! I learned it in my brief time in fast food. You should do a video of the tricks your hubby learned when he worked in a restaurant. We had a restaurant in our mall that was there for years and they made the best taco salad. Thanks for giving measurements during the video. I can no longer read a cookbook or any kind of book since I’m losing my battle with glaucoma.
