They made the turtles wear different colored bandanas and belts with their initials so kids would tell them apart easily. They changed Splinter's backstory because it was too violent for a saturday morning cartoon. They changed April from Stockman's assistant to a reporter, I guess in order to made it more cliché. they made Stockman white, they allowed Shredder to live (The turtles kill Shredder in the first issue), they made up Krang and Dimension X based on the utroms from the comics and finally, they turned Casey Jones into a kind of psychopat.
