How to lace shoes with “Double Back Lacing”, which looks interesting plus holds very firmly, but is terribly awkward to tighten. The lacing first runs down the shoe, then doubles back up the shoe.

This helped me tie my super long laces on my soccer cleats. Fit really well and even though the holes on my cleats aren't straight and perfect, it still looked good and fit really well

That's great, the lacing will both use up excess length plus hold nice and tight. I also wonder whether the dense grid of shoelace will benefit your kicking.

The charcoal grey quilted ones? They're Converse Chuck Taylor Storm Hi-Tops. They've kept my feet toasty warm this past winter.
