You are the man hauling these loads. I always got agitated when we would have to change course. I am 68 now and now look back at it and laugh. I was working in the hills of WV in the US and seemed to always coming out of a hollow with mountains on either side of the road. It was great times and working with great people.

I’ve got a question, your air can lights, purple/black light. Have you ever been stopped because they weren’t orange? I’ve noticed them in a few videos now and always wanted to ask the question. When I worked at PB, always heard stories of Dirty Harry’s about Grande Prairie area, clipping harnesses and giving tickets because they were a “forward facing light.”
@TimelapseTruckerRTOT5 ай бұрын
i had it out once with DOT or peace officer, none of mine are forward facing and glow isn't considered a light, thats the same as telling me if i drive around with my interior light on and they are red or blue color is illegal. my dash lights are illegal case the illuminate the cab.... so forth. clip my harness like fuck, destruction of private property right there. or vandalism. i can shut mine off and ive only been hassled once with this being my third truck 2 purple one green, and another fellow worker too in rocky mountain house but he had way more and blue on the big bed. and like NWA said.....

That’s why we have custom wide ramps on our trucks so the double drop can’t get to far off to the side and fuck off the plate like that
@TimelapseTruckerRTOT5 ай бұрын
most have rollers and guides off the sides of the rollers, i know the road train one for sure was built right, but..... if i picked up the trailer no jeep the guides on the side of the rollers just perfect for catching the nipples for grease on the pins of the fifth wheel, some have some dont.
@travisandrews68575 ай бұрын
@@TimelapseTruckerRTOT ya the problem we found with our Gerry’s is they make the guides wide enough for a 16wheel jeep so it get to far off the wheel unless the ramps are wider. A regular double drop doesn’t have that much play on the ears. Maybe only a few inch’s would be normal

Great video, Jerrold! What kind of weight are you dealing with when you need a pusher truck full time, like at 6:42 in vid? Have you ever done that?
@TimelapseTruckerRTOT5 ай бұрын
no ive never got to push a load. other than my bumper on the slow guy in front of me. i couldnt really answer this but sheer size is probably a factor along with weight. wind resistance is just as bad as weight and steep hills, plus you need to get the job done doing say max 70-80 kph with all the help vs no help doing 40 kph, depending on where your going. once you commit you have only so many spots these loads will fit to park safely and day time travel only
