Nice fish Justin,The other day Panfish Bill was launching his kayak to go fishing on WATT,S BARR lake and saw Catfish Dave preparing to fish.Dave yelled out to him,where you going Bill.Panfish replied im going downriver to catch a huge flathead.Dave yelled back at him,you mean if the good Lord,s willing you will.Bill replied,Ive got a kayak,a bucket full of bluegill,s and im going to get a big flathead,and the Lord has nothing to do with it.Before Panfish reached the spot he was going to catch a state record flathead at ,a huge storm blew in and capsized his kayak and he barely made it to shore with his life.He managed to limp his way back upriver to the boat launch area and passed by Catfish Dave landing a huge flathead.Dave yelled out to ol Panfish, Where you headed now Billy boy.Ol Panfish yelled back in the strongest voice he could muster.If the good Lord,s willing im going back home.....................Keep after it Justin and you,ll have one on you will have to take to the shore to land.

Hi Justin, Been watching a lot of your videos in the past couple of weeks. Love seeing you battle those big cats from your kayak, especially the Flatheads since that is my favorite fish. The kayak seems like loads of fun and if I was many years younger I would certainly be doing what you are but my 70 year old knees and old bones in general won't allow me. Thus, I now fish from my boat or more recently a pontoon I just purchased. You certainly seem to have a good fishery for the big cats. I have been chasing Flatheads for around 9 years and my PB is only 21 lbs 3 oz, caught in Watauga Lake in Carter county TN (I live in Hampton, TN near Bristol). I've done a few videos of some of our catches and fails throughout the years and titled them Flathead Fishing Watauga Lake, TN on my KZfaq channel. Say, you must live near or in Lenoir City. I lived there for about 7 years when I was a kid. Had a good friend named Johnny Johnson, his father's name was Cyril. Just wondering if you are related?? Or, live in Lenoir City? Thanks for all your time and effort in putting these videos together. They are great!!

I haven’t seen anyone throwing shade about the electric motor, he’ll I wouldn’t mind one. I peddled 6 miles up river today before the wind changed and tried to push me further up stream on my way back lol.. whoooped my ass. I would love one of those for situations just like that.

People fish all winter long here for blues. Numbers are down during the cold months but some of the biggest fish are always caught in the winter. Hopefully you will catch a monster while you are in Tennessee.

love your videos!! I wish we had that kind of catfish action in WV. I know you love that hobie can you stand out of it and fish? I mean as far as bass fishing and such? I know the cats are a heck of a site harder pulling and standing for them wouldn't be too smart. I am really looking at hobie either the outback or compass. I love the pa but I think its a lil heavy for me.

Thanks! I can stand in the Outback but because the seat sits so low to the deck even in the high position, it makes it hard for me to stand up. My legs are too long so I have to push myself up. I haven’t been in the Compass but I imagine it is easier to stand in due to the floor being a little wider.

Jon Jon there's great catfishing in WV bub. Try the Ohio River. It's not one of the best Rivers but the wv portion is way more protected than our portion in ky n Ohio. I fish the Ohio River right around the tri-state area where ky-oh-wva meet and it's decent fishin.

I know you had a recent issue with the Torqeedo. What was the cause of the error message that was coming up? Did their customer service help you out and get things corrected?

Not sure what caused the problem. I mailed it to their repair center and got a brand new motor back 9 days later. Frustrating that it happened but their customer service was excellent.

HELP ! I have found a ledge and it's loaded with fish. Getting hooked up but on the way reeling them in I keep getting hung and losing them. I am using 50 pnd braid 60 pnd mono leader 8 and 10/0 backstabbers. I have to fish this from the bank. Also using sinker slides and 3-5 ounce bank or disc sinkers. I think the slide is hanging up on or near the ledge in rocks. Would a three way rig with a smaller diameter mono leader help out so I can break away from the hang up. Frustrated I lost two very nice cats today. Any advice would greatly appreciated. Do you think the knocker rig would be a better choice maybe ?

Dang! I hate that you lost those fish. Sounds like a tough area to fish from the bank. I don’t think the knocker rig would help for this situation. Most likely your sinker is getting down in some rocks and hanging up. Not much you can do about it unfortunately. Wish I had some advice to offer you.

I use them when I can catch them. I haven’t been on any good crappie since early spring though.
