This is the Dr. King mainstream media doesn't show. They've watered down who he truly was. He was a black man. He fought for the rights and dignity of his people. He believe in equality and justice. He spoke out when many were silent. He was not only a great speaker, but he was about action. He creatively protested against bigotry and discrimination from the white establishment. He came to the aid of his people across America and lead peaceful demonstrations across the south where the harshest proponents of racism were. He was brave and courageous in the face of violence and death. And there are many more things that could be said about this great man. It is up to us to tell the real truth of who he actually was. If we leave it up to America, in a few hundred years, he'll be a white man who tried to help black people.

Both sides use him, and I think he'd still publicly denounce both while quietly voting Republican if he voted.

My beautiful one, Black and PROUD ✊🏾, I too wish that Rev Dr Martin Luther King Jr was NOT assassinated on April 4, 1968 and I too wish he were ALIVE at 95 years old, as so many others do, especially his children. I was only seven when he was assassinated and I was in such SHOCK that day...yet something was BORN in my that day...I could no LONGER look at the world in the fantasy way I was told about. I had to let GO of all the LIES that I was raised in. I had to FACE how horrible, bitterly unfair, racist, misogynistic, cruel, hypocritical, greedy, selfish, lying, deceptive and EXTREMELY VIOLENT this Nation is and this world is. I had to develop a BELIEF system and STAND UP for it, or my life would be in VAIN. So when Dr King Jr died, his DREAM lived in ME. ETERNAL LIFE was introduced to me so young. The WISDOM of the Ancients and Ancestors became VITAL. I had to FACE terrorism, because it was coming for me no matter what I did to avoid it. It was even inside of me. That is how we become our own LEADERS. It takes so much COURAGE to become a leader in such VIOLENCE. We need LOVE to build that COURAGE. so keep LOVING who you are. PROTECT yourself inside and out from HATE and FEAR! You will find your inner Rev Dr Martin Luther King jr! Did you know he tackled FEAR as a student long before he became a Leader?? Resolve your issues with FEAR each day and what what happens! I send you so much LOVE for your journey!

Black is Beautiful “I am black, but comely” “because the sun hath looked upon me” “The song of songs, which is Solomon's. Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth: for thy love is better than wine. Because of the savour of thy good ointments thy name is as ointment poured forth, therefore do the virgins love thee. Draw me, we will run after thee: the king hath brought me into his chambers: we will be glad and rejoice in thee, we will remember thy love more than wine: the upright love thee. I am black, but comely, O ye daughters of Jerusalem, as the tents of Kedar, as the curtains of Solomon. Look not upon me, because I am black, because the sun hath looked upon me: my mother's children were angry with me; they made me the keeper of the vineyards; but mine own vineyard have I not kept. Tell me, O thou whom my soul loveth, where thou feedest, where thou makest thy flock to rest at noon: for why should I be as one that turneth aside by the flocks of thy companions? If thou know not, O thou fairest among women, go thy way forth by the footsteps of the flock, and feed thy kids beside the shepherds' tents. I have compared thee, O my love, to a company of horses in Pharaoh's chariots. Thy cheeks are comely with rows of jewels, thy neck with chains of gold. We will make thee borders of gold with studs of silver. While the king sitteth at his table, my spikenard sendeth forth the smell thereof. A bundle of myrrh is my wellbeloved unto me; he shall lie all night betwixt my breasts. My beloved is unto me as a cluster of camphire in the vineyards of En-gedi. Behold, thou art fair, my love; behold, thou art fair; thou hast doves' eyes. Behold, thou art fair, my beloved, yea, pleasant: also our bed is green. The beams of our house are cedar, and our rafters of fir.” Song of Solomon 1:1-17 KJV “my beloved” = messianic reference to the “beloved Son,” Jesus Christ “And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.” Matthew 3:16-17 KJV

Extremely outstanding speech I ever listen, Sir Martin Luther king didn't beg the respect for being black but he created respect for himself and for afro american community as well. The way he addressed his community and nation shakes us. He made us understand until we would not respect ourselves no one respect us; not any law make us equal to others moreover he changed the definition of beauty. Beauty doesn't lie in external appearance, it lies within so we should be proud irrespective of any complexion.
