I used to kick my sensei's wooden dummy until my chin bones were like the edge of a saw (still are). When I then instead started wushu I kicked tires ironically they didn't have a wooden dummy. After that it was MMA and sand bags. And then I stopped training and I thought I had lost the numbing and I actually started to feel something whenever I would kick a bag at the gym. Seeing people who usually don't kick stuff react after one or two kicks....man apparently that hurt back in the day. 😂

i had a phase doing knuckle conditioning because of DBZ. knuckle pushups on granite, heavy bag work with just wraps, i even had a 2x4 sawn from a project under my desk to periodically hit my knuckles with. my friends thought i was a retard. the callouses never faded, and now im a bit older its wayyyyyy easier and more tolerable on the wrist joints to get up/push my body weight/pushup using knuckles. a straight line from elbow to knuckle feels really good on the bones.
