*******CRITIQUES, RULES, AND NOTES*******
Be aware of the following rules before posting comments:
- Please do not post summaries of the video in the comments - it damages retention on the video and KZfaq is less likely to promote it (these videos cost me a lot of money to produce).
Critiques of my work are welcome! Please be aware of the following notes & rules before submitting critique:
Be mindful that this content is not all encompassing on the subject at hand and is self-limited for brevity to reach a wider audience. Also, be aware that I receive hundreds of KZfaq comments per day, so the only way your critique can be considered is if you follow the steps outlined below. Finally, KZfaq auto-deletes links, so I do not see most comments with links attached.
RULES:
If your comment is rude, you will be banned.
If your comment is not about the studies/topics at hand (i.e. extending to other outcomes not discussed) or offers critique with no scientific basis, it is unlikely to receive a response.
If you can follow these rules, I will try to address your critique and if there is merit, I will add an AMENDMENT to the content in question and pin it so everyone can see it (thank you!).

My uncle, Harold Bellis, was a brilliant chemist at DuPont laboratories. He was the one that isolated curcumin in tumeric. This was then tested as a treatment for various cancers. It never had a big enough impact on cancer that it would have been financially viable. However, it worked well enough that my uncle believed that it might prevent certain cancers. He faithfully took curcumin and black pepper daily until his death two years ago at the age of 92.

Just because a group of people has done something for centuries doesn't make it right. Slavery was legal for centuries. When it comes to nutrition, we need to look for a history of consumption that is over 10,000 years to be safe.

Yes, everything in moderation. Too much water can flush out good electrolytes and vitamins and minerals. But water also flushes out toxins. Which sometimes are in the water via medications, micro plastics, chemicals that couldn't be taken out of our water at the treatment plant. I had to research on here and elsewhere and find the right labs to do the right tests and then learn human health care to cure all my own health issues! Yoghurt for gut health with honey and lemon and berries & apple cider vinegar with spirulena helped flush toxins from body! Turmeric helped reduce inflammation and pain all over body! Foods like turmeric herbs spices plants all have benefits for our health or are detrimental but mostly Food and the ancient knowledge of herbs and plants show us the way & the real medicine our body needs!

@remeAlthough there is correlation between longevity and coffee consumption, people would probably be better off without it, or at least without the caffeine. Many brain experts say coffee is harming the brain by causing it to lose fluid. If I drink three cups of coffee I get muscle cramps in odd places IMHO this indicates the same effect. Other's may not be as sensitive, but the LD50 on caffeine is .5 grams. So it is more toxic than cocaine by quite a bit. PS And it is addictive, physically addictive. It is as much a drug as meth, and more of one than cannabis.

At the time he found he's method to success as a youtuber which he craved above all else (as he'd tried many times) by negatively critiquing anything that normally would be praised or shone in a positive light. He has always offered negative thoughts on many subjects that he has no expertise in. The only thing I can confirm he is an expert in is disinformation. @@christianarias851 lots of meats and organs isn't exactly great, especially red meats. white meats like chicken and turkey every day isn't ideal but it's better than red meats and organs every day. you want a good source of protein with all amino acids? eat beans (which he hates... because they are seeds... like all plants create phytotoxins in their seeds (they don't) or like plants never create phytotoxins in organs other than seeds (potatoes for instance contain poisons in every green part, leaving only tubers with non green skin as safe to eat) or like phytotxins found in seeds are present in high amounts (most often in edible seeds are not) or like some of the toxins can't be processed by heat (linseed contains amygdalin which causes cyanide poisoning but as long as you bake or cook them they are a great source of fiber and essential omega 3 fatty acids). The guy goes on a rampage about oats because they contain phittic acid even though they don't contain enough of it to produce negative effects in humans (as studies proved, regular consumption of oats showed up with no deficits in calcium, iron, zinc etc)... yet he doesn't even concearn with.the fact that excess iron (which is predominantly caused by high red meat intake) is just as bad for you as iron deficiency (excessive iron leads to more LDL getting oxidised thus increasing the amount of foamy macrophages in your arterial walls leading to faster developement of atheroaclerosis; raised hemoglobing and red blood cell count from excess iron make blood more viscous providing more strain to your heart and significantly raising the risk for blood clot to form)

My IBS symptoms were in remission for the past 3 years however, but it looks interesting that i got to like turmeric on my own, without even knowing it helps people like me with IBS. While I also find Saladino's comments to be nonsensical - I had a nasty side effect from turmeric/curcumin, but also very beneficial main effects. I found curcumin useful for tamping down inflammation from fibrocystic breast. I've tried a number of curcumin supplements, but found the most powerful was actually a turmeric tea - Numi Golden Turmeric Tonic; it does not include black pepper, but does have dried lime and lemon verbena. Within an hour of drinking a cup I had reduced swelling and pain. The next best product was Gaia Herbs' turmeric product which includes pepper extract; Theracurmin was in 3rd place. I did not notice any effects at all when taking Meriva. Unfortunately, I also would get shoulder pain when using these products - similar to the shoulder pain I experienced when on Cipro. I checked the literature and, yes, curcumin is a topoisomerase inhibitor. So I'm curious about that and also - why on earth does toperisomerase inhibition have such an awful effect on some people's shoulder tendons?! ~ As far as detoxification goes - there are some polyphenol detoxification products that are more harmful than the original polyphenols. Specifically, 4-ethylphenyl sulfate (4EPS) seems to cause anxiety and worsening of autism symptoms. It is derived from 4-etyhylphenol (4EP), which is sulfated by the human enzyme SULT1A1. I did notice better mood when taking the Gaia herb product. ~ Note that another side effect from these products I noticed was increased bleeding time. Eating more dark leafy greens or taking a K1 supplement fixed that.

@physionic I’ve read on PubMed I think that curcumin has cox-2 inhibiting properties, similar to celecoxib. This means it will produce pain relieving benefits like ibuprofen does (which is a Cox-1 and cox-2 inhibitor) but without the cox-1 inhibition, which means it doesn’t impact stomach (limiting ulcer Formation). Can you confirm? I haven’t looked into this in a long while. In addition the NSAIDS have negative impact on heart, increasing BP and heart attacks. So it makes sense long term curcumin users might be at risk of heart disease, assuming what I just said is all true. Using it “as needed” I.e. when in pain - might mitigate these effects. But daily use in cooking or “just because” might lead to heart issues. Would love your input !
