They went hard on this ending. The music the speech everything. The delivery and combination of it all.

Solas has the best written script in the game for sure

solos is such a well written villain its crazy.

This proved to be a difficult betrayal to cope with. Knowing the story of Solas and the elves is like experiencing the Tale of Witherfang except it's about the entire world and there is no third option, only werewolves or elves. I want to feel sorry for Solas, but even if he found a solution that didn't destroy the world or kill a bunch of innocents, he is still responsible for the genocide of his kind through the creation and use of the veil. It really makes me wonder how a future conflict with Solas will be possible without severely nerfing him given his ability to turn people into stone at will. My only regret is not having the opportunity to destroy or significantly harm Solas with the anchor when he tried to remove it. Now my character will go through the same experience Hawke and Varric had when people kept bugging them why they didn't 'kill' Coryphyeus.

I know this betrayal but his tone is very sincere and kind.
