The one thing we can all agree on is that the lore and story of Dragon Age is interesting and engaging and Dragon Age: The Veilguard promises to reveal more important lore than ever before. These then are the most important lore questions that we need answers to!

So excited for the lore in Veilguard, totally agree with you on it being by far the most interesting part of the upcoming game. The setup is so good and in my opinion from what I have seen it looks like they might pull off something amzing

I hope that the old gods arent just the evanuris or their pets. It just seems like the most boring answer. That mystery is just the elves.

Idk if they're going to go that route, but I think they're going to dive into what the titan evanuris war was about and how it started. I think it was because of the darkspawn being made by Ghil'anain and instead of doing as she was told and destroying them, she banished them to the deep roads causing a war. I don't think that the evanuris and the archdemons are the same beings at first. I think they're just corrupted dragons with the souls of the evanuris being somehow transferred into the dragon

I want to know the origin of humanity. we know the origin of the elves(spirit) dwarves (titan), qunari atlest we know that their blood are not theirs (dragon ?) but for humans we know nothing. i want to know...

One thing I dont understand is that if the fade existed alongside the physical world then why are spirits so aggressive in the current setting like why do most of the spirit become demons as soon as they come into contact with the real world?

@@KratosisGod Because when the fade existed within the "real" worldm everything was at their purest form. Spirits existed at the same time in both realities because they were one. When the fade and "real" fell apart, maybe ai affected spirits on some deeper level. When they leave the fade and they become present in "real" world, maybe the fade no longer "protect" them and they became twisted by mortal desires?

I really gotta say this: temper your expectations, like massively, this isn't the bioware from 20 years ago, if anything the story will be a half baked won't doesn't reveal anything, retcons a bunch and solve nothing but keep the status quo in play. I feel like nothing justifies current Bioware even being capable of writing a coherent story let alone a good one...

It's going to be shit and definitely not worth buying for any reason. The gameplay, the story/lore, the aesthetics of the setting, it's all going to be trash. That's my mindset going in, maybe I'll be wrong. I'll find out vicariously through others, because I'm definitely not buying it day one. I'd recommend waiting at least a year for anyone else that's fed up with modern game design.

@df6597 I think a more reasonable expectation to assume is that it will be just fiercely mediocre, like you play for a couple hours and just go "meh" nothing to outright hate about the game but nothing that really draws you in either. This is the kind of atmosphere I think bioware has perfected now..

I think people overestimate the importance of the old guard writers. Yes, they're talented, no doubt about that, but the issue with people like Gaider, Avellone, Josh Sawyer, and some other seasoned western RPG writers is that they've just grown too snooty. You didn't find this self-importance in old cRPGs because they were primarily concerned with fun, they didn't have the acknowledgement yet. Nowadays it seems like the "vision" is more important than the player and the game. It's a whole lot of no's to great ideas because my vision this, my vision that. And I feel like Owlcat and Larian have been a bucket of cold water on this perspective. People do want depth, but primarily fun is simply more important, because this is a video game, not a book. Personally I'm ready to give the new team a fair shot at this.

The lore revelations are only thing I'm interested in at this point and though I doubt we'll get all the answers I think the origin of the blight and the maker will definitely be revealed in this game, As for the dwarves I think Titans were the medium through which dwarves were connected to the fade as we know lyrium is the blood of the Titans and its magical and all magic stems from the fade but once the titans abandoned the dwarves they lost their connection to the fade and thus magic, The reason as to why they abandoned them I think is the creation of the veil made them lose a lot of their power to the point that they could no longer control all the dwarves and thus retreated to the depths of the deep roads to stay hidden from the world.

It's implied the Titans lost a war against the Evanuris, and the Dwarves were subsequently enslaved (not abandoned).

Thank you for the lore video, reminded me of many things I forgot. But I would never want to put too much stock in established lore. BioWare even when it was just starting it’s downfall, could barely keep the lore straight and not retcon it over and over. So I have currently 0 faith in the team, who has only giving me Anthem as the last game in almost a decade.

Considering the biggest loredump for DA:I happened in the last DLC I don't expect the next mainline entry to resolve alot. It will mostly revolve around Solas with a few sidebits here and there imo.

There is a secret quest in Inquisition. It has to do with Calpernia and Corphyeus. We go to some old ruins. Corphyeus leaves behind notes and recordings ☝️ He said that,”The magisters took the black power for themselves”. That it was not a curse forced upon them, and that they purposely claimed the black power for themselves 😤 The true story is different from what we know from gospels. In the end, Only Corypheus came back with his mind still intact. And it seems the rest lost their minds, some even cannibalized each other. The rest are probably still lost in the deepraods or elsewhere 🤷 The world is much larger if you look at the map.

I was in love with Dragon Age lore for 15 years, but after what was shown in the gameplay reveal - and taking into account the latest works of BioWare, including the Inquisition - I have no faith in the team anymore. What I saw was extremely cliché plot, dull dialogues without a meaningful choice, disappointing time jump that took away all the urgency I felt in the Trespasser, and lore that gets retconned far too often. If I look at the mediocrity of the part of the game that should have hooked me in, and they are proud to present it as the introduction to their game, what hope there is for the rest of the work? The Veilguard seems to be aimed at characters as a dating simulator at this point, rather than the focus on the lore and making it somewhat original and appealing as it once was. Let's take a look at Corypheus as a villain, or resolution of the Mage/Templar war... and that was the main setting of the Inquisition. I would be happy to be proven wrong, and that my doubts are unfounded. However, after what they showed in the last decade, I don't trust the team, no matter how much they try to sugarcoat everything.

Before they were gods the Evanuris fought a group of renegade elven leaders, the forgotten ones, who became known as very powerful demons that occasionally interacts with mortals. Blood magic came into being after one of them taught mages. I believe after millenia of imprisonment the Evanuris became something like the forgotten ones, but more locked up. In fact, I believe Solas is willing to work with the forgotten ones to stop the escaping Evanuris, which is what he meant by his "plan" at the end of Trespasser dlc.

I've got one question. A question that demands a lot of answers. A question that's been glued to my mind since I got into this franchise. A question that the developers hasn't answered yet. I have to ask.....How old are all of the characters in all 4 Dragon Age Games? And that includes the Warden, Hawke, the Inquisitor and Rook.

Hawke was born in 05 or 06 Dragon. As for the Hero, it depends on your origin and your headcanon. Anywhere between 18 and 40 probably. Some Heroes have a cap if they have an older sibling like the human noble having Fergus, or the dwarven noble having Trian. As for the Inquisitor, I think that's up to the player. Probably anywhere between 18 and 60 perhaps.

I don't expect any shocking revelations. Dwarves can't do magic. So Shaper Valta gaining magic should explode heads. Instead everyone is like "time to go home ". It feels really flat. Even though it should be impactful.

Everyone just has to understand that this series has had a bunch of pitfalls, and they survived all the way up to this point. I was hoping For a evolved Inquisition gameplay But I understand the need for getting as many people involved With the gameplay For the sake of continuing the story and the series as a whole.😑

Off subject, but Dragon Age no longer has a gritty atmosphere and now has DEI elements according to the game director? I see a game made for everyone, but it will please no one. I hope I am wrong, but I will wait until after the release before considering buying. Correction: My comment about not having completely romanceable characters was wrong, however, I still stand by my concern over the comments the Game Director put out.

All companions have been confirmed to be romancable. You're judging the atmosphere of the game based on 20 minutes. If you're gonna condemn Veilguard for DEI elements, then you should condemn Origins, 2, and Inquisition of the same thing.

@@MyNindo2000 Played/finished with multiple playthroughs of all Dragon Age Games. Precisely because the other Dragon Age games had elements of DEI in them, what the Game Director said SHOULD trouble you. The other games didn't need to say it, they made subtle and a natural part of the story. I have to wonder; was she making the best Dragon Age Game, OR was she inserting personal agendas? We shall see, but I do not trust people who self-insert their personal beliefs or politics into their JOBS.

I mean DAI had lots of it too. Remember Krem? Like you could talk to him about his issues? Or the codex article “sexuality in Thedas”. Basically an entire Thedas is non binary now lol. It’s just it was easier to ignore back in those days, less irritating, cuz it wasn’t shoved down your throat the way they do it today.

@@SoraJustAGuy I agree, it is the in-your-face shit that they must know is going to draw ire from the core fan base that doesn't make sense to me. Just make a good game. BG3 is perhaps the model for DEI, being every alphabet person could dream of, YET very few people cared because they did talk about it, they just made a great game with nearly endless choices, based or gay. Game Directors who bring up irrelevant issues such as DEI stuff appear to be looking for a fight to give them cover because they fear their game will fail and want to have an excuse, evil white gamers...just saying.

Yeah but if the companions, gameplay, and art style suck, it's likely the story will as well. DA2 was a failure on most fronts, and the story was one of them. Veilguard will probably be worse. It seems to me BioWare is going to reveal too much. Everything in fact. BioWare is hoping that blowing their entire story wide open will make this game an automatic success. It won't. All that will do is destroy the mystery of it. They also seem to be merging all major plot-lines into one to make it easier to write for and give the illusion of grandeur. Rewriting everything established before this is not good writing. It's not a plot twist. It's just making stuff up and disregarding everything that came before it.
