I fully intend to buy this game, it looks great! No online doesnt bother me because i am more of a single player only type of gamer.

I'm probably the only person who doesn't care for online in games, maybe because in most cases I get decimated by people who dedicate the game to memory.

Probably the most balanced DBZ game in a while imo.

I am so excited for this, the 3D Dragon Ball games are fun and all, but I've always had more fun with 2D fighting games.

i do love how they made them do martial arts moves they showed in the anime/movies. thats something the budokai/tenkaichi games lacked. now fighterz is doing it too and if they decide to put raditz or broly in they have the perfect blue prints.

Honestly, I feel that releasing the game with support characters is fine, but I want them to consider making more major supports playable through later DLC or updates. As much as I like doing SSJG against SSJ4 in Xenoverse, I want to experience that in Extreme Butoden, too.

Can't they add some patch with online mode or something in the future?:/ I was asuming it've online mode since it came out and i'm kind of dissapointed there. I'll buy it anyways because it reminds me of my childhood and 1st dbz game ever, supersonic warriors 2. But still feels kind of missing something with that limited roster and no online. Hope at least gameplay is fine.

Do you think that IF the game sells well enough internationally and the community is vocal enough that the devs would/could open up servers patch in online? Also, I personally like what I've seen for the most part,and yes it has it's faux pas, but I'd like to see more Butoden games with bigger rosters, returning mechanics like transformation and fusion (that isn't just selecting Gotenks or Vegito), a variety of team composition potential, and ports for other systems (with cross-platform support if I may continue my wet dream) if this revived series is well-enough receive. Based on your experience and peer evaluation, do you think that Extreme Butoden will be successful enough to warrant a sequel? I feel like along aide Rising Thunder fighting games like these with simple controls could gain a good rep. Perhaps not as strong as other highly regarded titles like Street Fighter or Guilty Gear, etc., but a sustainable one nonetheless.

Awesome review. I have downloaded the demo and the game is fun. I will still get the game but based on this review I will wait for a used copy or a price drop since it seems like people will get bored with it after just a few hours

I'm exited for this game, because I consider the 3d fighters as the low point is the DBZ games, and I'm exited that we might be going back to some 2d fighters.

This is a nice DBZ game revuew but I do wish a fighting game player would eventually do a review of the game. It's already our in Japan and I still can't find any info on the combo system or deeper fighting mechanics. Can Goku Roman Cancel for the first time in gaming history or what?

I was actually REALLY excited for this game, since the graphics reminded me of the old Neo Geo games, and with a small roster, I was expecting some amazing balance in the metagame, and the support characters really reminded me of KOF 2000, which really got my attention. But lack of online is just...inexcusable, really. :/

wish they would make a revamped Budokai 2 with an extended roster. Loved the Budokai 2 combat system the most of all the 2D DBZ games. The only thing I wish was different was the Ki blasts being more like they were in Budokai 3.

***** Keep in mind, this was made by the people who made BlazBlue. BlazBlue doesn't have too many visuals either. There's a rare anime cutscene here and there, but it's all mainly text boxes.

What's good, Rhyme? Love your vids boss. But I feel that you should also explain the main draw to this game. This game is meant to be played in a competitive stand point. This game has very hard combos to do, and its very deep. I felt like you told this from a casual standpoint. Not sure if you are into fighting games, but you just didnt touch on this as much. Either way, I agree with most of you points. Keep up the good work.

That's the way the story mode works is just like budokai 3. You pick a character then you fight the villan who fought that character .

I have this game and I am very glad that this game is one of the rare DB games to respect side characters :) I suggest it for whoever like side characters and like having 2D gameplay like Budokai.

Online is a cool feature, but I only use online for a few things: to play games like tf2 and csgo with my friends, to trade pokemon, and to play smash bros

When are they gonna make a dbz game exclusively for the Vita??? Tenkaichi tag team was a badass PSP game , they should make a similar type game for the Vita.

They should have had one for wiiu with more characters, 3d HD graphics, and online mode kinda like smash.
