That looks like dyed Spanish moss. Interesting. I bet you could use raffia, too, especially if you shredded it. I like the idea of having things other than liquid or powder potions, so, yes, please, more wand cores!

i have an idea for a potion prop (if you weren't already thinking of this) Whomping Willow Sap! you could even paint a real tree tap to make it look old and string it to the top of the bottle/jar if you wanted. i got inspired by someone on etsy and thought that you would like the idea as much as i did.

Great job! What do you do with your leftover black wax? How do you get it out of your glue gun so you can switch back to clear glue sticks? Do you use two different glue guns?

Debbie Nagy I have several glue guns. I got quite a few on sale and I use 1 for every color and just keep it that color. I find you waste a lot of glue changing to another color. So it works better for me to have different ones.

What would the other cores be? Would there be a way to make a wand with them as a prop?

Amber Sherwood there’s several different cores, some work better than others. There’s Veela hair, troll whisker, horned serpent horn, kelpie hair, basilisk horn, acromantula web etc. I don’t feel like it would be easy to make a wand with them unless you build the wand up around the core with polymer clay.
