The ice punch at 1:32 literally blows my mind. It gives me goosebumps! The scream too! Damn, Jason Scott Lee did a great job in this flick. The Movie might be a little exaggerated in certain areas, but damn if it’s not entertaining.

@@germ4613 honestly i feel like this is better, bruce lee was way much back in the days where the quality and sound quality was much worse. also bruce lee movies did not show much of bruces full arsenal, in this movie you see more fights and longer and more exciting. having bruce lee in cinema today with todays choreography and special effects would´ve been absolutely crazy tho

the ice punch isn't as overexaggerated as you think. remember they're filming a movie within a movie, they're most likely using easy break props. and I don't mean for the filming of dragon, I mean for the in movie filming of the big boss.

It didn't but it's entertaining as hell, John Chang did a great job as action director, this is very solid action direction, it doesn't compare to HK but by US standards of the time, it's a fair way above average. I

By the way. If you kept up with alllll the docs out there on Bruce. Theres a movie director or producer that speaks about this fight that actually happened on the set of this movie. Bruce did destroy the film after, but he didn't fight that dudes brother. Story goes a Muay Thai champ came to the set and challenged Bruce like many people would. The movie was filmed in Thailand by the way. They had a good battle but in the end the individual said Bruce was to fast for dude and he couldn't deal with his speed and got cooked! I will never forget this story about this situation, only because my art of preference is Muay Thai.

Jerry Poteet was Jason's JKD coach and helped him throughout the film. Dan Inosanto helped get things straight. This is probably one of the best American martial arts films ever made.

Crazy to think Jason Scott Lee wasn't trained in martial arts till he was casted in this movie and had only weeks to prepare and practice. The choreography fights he did in this movie made you think hes been training for years.

He had no prior martial arts training. But by the time he was casted for the film he had already been involved in gymnastics for years, I think he was even serious about competing before choosing to do acting instead. Hence his extremely athletic physique. That undoubtedly gave him the ability to learn fighting techniques with little effort, or at least with way less effort than the average dude would need to invest to get the same results.

Everyone raving about Jason Scott Lee (rightly so), but Ong Soo Han was brilliant here as Luke Sun. He was an excellent martial artist, Taekwondo being his main style. He was crazy strong, but also quick. It was the toughest fight for Bruce in the film. It was the only time where you thought "Shit, he's really losing here".

As a fan of Bruce Lee, what’s fair is fair. Lee getting that combo in on him at 0:46 was pure luck. You could see it in his body that he knew he needed to come up with something fast to get that guy away from him. He was pissed, he was pumped, and he meant business. And even with that 13-hit combo it didn’t look like it was phasing him. There were 2 or 3 instances in this fight where Lee would have either been seriously hurt to the point of forfeiture or he would have been killed, and that’s besides the obvious part of almost getting his head chopped off by the saw. In the end, Lee did the only thing he could do: fake being incapacitated to throw the other guy off guard and then leg sweep him, and use every last bit of force in your body to break his friggin’ rib cage. It was the only thing that got him out of that fight alive. Again, I say all this as a Bruce Lee fan.

1) This is a movie, it is choreographed lmfao 2) This never happened in reality, it's a massive exaggeration of the tensions that existed between Bruce, the Hong Kong and Thai stuntmen given Lee's bold claims about various martial arts. Allegedly a local Muay Thai champion approached Lee on the set but nothing came of it.

What that combo was pure luck you say, there was no luck in that it's pure skill and speed my friend. And you say he was unaffected by the combo, no he was clearly affected by the combo that's why he tried his utmost best to block and dodge Lee's attacks after that. It wouldn't make any senses for him to try his utmost best to block and dodge Lee's attacks, if he was unaffected by them.

@@michaeltrumph121 He is trying to say Bruce Lee real life. As in like in Bruce’s movies, extras and other people do stick in from time to time to challenge Lee, which interrupts the shoot. We do not know the exact names of the challengers but every single story of Lee, written by every author, along with eyewitness accounts and all, speak of them. Hence, there is likely a situation where indeed someone challenged Lee out of animosity like as shown here, and he did punch Ice with his hands(though we have no confirmation something like this DID TRULY EXIST). So he says if he saw Lee punch Ice like that he would totally not continue the fight

Didn't know who that guy was when I seen this movie for the 1st time years ago as a kid. But I do remember he did better against Bruce than the guy who challenged him earlier in the movie who broke his back by attacking him from behind. So this was that dudes brother, he clearly showed he's better than his brother, he was actually kicking Bruces ass for the most part.

@@rikudo282 yeah I had situation when I was in school and I I’ve trained since I’ve been a kid in taekwondo and Kong fu like the one you see in ip man for almost 17 years. it will be 17 after this year. I was dealing with a bullying and I didn’t want to fight back until it came to point like this and he was bigger than me and most kids I was considered the weak kid. And when bunch kids saw they never picked on me again. I felt like I was in my own world fighting him. Everyone around me was scared. So I felt bad I scared others around me though.

My all-time favorite fight scene of all Bruce Lee and Bruce Lee portrayal films was his fight with O'Hara. But this fight scene is my next favorite one. What I enjoyed about this fight scene was Bruce's portrayal of looking a lot more vulnerable than usual against any of his opponents.

I wonder if Jason Scott Lee is a clone. Or Lee reborn. That was the most epic fight scene ever recorded and then destroyed. Lee was a man of serious honor. Not exploitations not celebrity not arrogance and no selfishness. He was a legend. True to his art. Love him. Rip.

I love how the villain breaks everything he misses lol. Then the ab punches sound like machine gun fire. This could've been a cut scene in Mortal Kombat, wildly entertaining.

The actual Bruce Lee has superhuman strength and lightning speed like a Shaolin martial artist. The film took those two things away from him to make the fight scenes more even.
