Ms. Spencer, you bring the community so much joy when you post these videos.

I am from India , and unfortunately I never managed to travel to US during one of the various convention Mr Butcher shows up at , so I don't care about the audio quality . I am very thankful for the content Ms. Spencer. Once again Thank you very much

For those who are complaining about the audio, Jim was there and in the main seat and was complaining about the acoustics. Get a nice headset or turn the volume up I was able to hear everything fine from laptop speakers. The question microphone wasn't putting out enough sound, and for the people who didn't speak loudly or spoke too far away, their questions were harder to hear. Just be glad we have this at all! Dragon con has a policy against recording panels. Thank you Priscilla :)

Priscilla, did you record this yourself/do you record these Q&A's yourself, or do you track down videos taken by people at the panels, and then "collate" them on your channel?
@Priscellie4 жыл бұрын
In the majority of cases, I record them myself. If there's a panel or con I can't attend, I'll sometimes ask a friend to record for me, in which case I'll credit them in the notes.

Awesome! What were your questions? I can hear most of this panel but its tricky
@phoenixDR34MR Жыл бұрын
@@davidwooden3878 so mine (at 12:23) was "You have this entire room hanging on basically your every word. How on earth do you keep your ego in check?" (The reply was basically 'this is famous guy Jim, regular Jim would look at this room and say too many people and walk away') My husband's (at 38:32) was "Other than Harry, which is your favorite character to write [in the Dresden-verse]? And which is your least favorite?" (To which he said he has a hard time with Charity, and that his fave depends on his mood: if puerile and in need of chaos, it's Bob - if he needs to get shit done, it's Marcone - but then he related that Mab is really fun because often he'll write her stuff and not even realize that's what she was doing until he wrote it - and when he reads it back, he's like 'this is good, I should tell the author' and then his brain is like 'you are the author' - which he finds confusing)
@davidwooden3878 Жыл бұрын
@phoenixDR34MR thanks for your response! I think I was able to hear most of your question and your husband's, but thank you so much. Wish we had some good subtitles on these but I am just happy to have them. Jim speaks and sounds a lot like my BIL

I'm lucky no one shut me down. There are two panels they didn't let me record at all. I wasn't going to draw additional attention to myself by asking them to let me interfere with their A/V setup. Sorry you're not happy with the quality of a product you're getting for free that attendees had to pay hundreds of dollars and wait in line for hours to see.

If you enjoy his books than it shouldn't matter whether he's Christian or Atheist or whatever else. Grow a spine.
@98integraGSR4 жыл бұрын
Wait... so you use an epithet concerning his monotheistic religion, and then follow it with an interjection whose SOLE source of literary and emotional heft is COMPLETELY reliant on both his religion and on its capacity to offend SPECIFICALLY adherents to said religion? I REALLY hate to break it to you, homeslice... But your comment lost its 'zing' before you even hit the little blue arrow. Also, just an FYI- Being an atheist isn't a personality trait.
@edxcal844 жыл бұрын
He wrote an agnostic knight of the cross and your bitching he's Christian? Really?!?! O.o I'm an Atheist and I don't give a shit he's a Christian. God damn, how shallow.

It really depends on how they use religion. Jim seems to be using it in a good way from a good place. I had am instructor who said lots of folks have enough religion to hate, and not enough to love. I'm here for criticism of Organized Religion, but personal beliefs are separate from that
