What I like about your videos (the ones I have seen so far) you don't seem to have any malice in you, you say things like "not really that good" (not word for word) but you seem a relaxed person (ok, I know we all have our off days) and you give honest advice, I like it that you pick cheap guitars and talk about upgrades etc, if that all makes sense. All my guitars are suited for classic rock, blues etc. But I would like one guitar that’s geared for hard rock/heavy metal.

Iron gear in the UK sells a version of these called Hammerheads. I've installed crusader humbukers on at least 3 of my guitars. I really love the tone and if you pay for the chrome post versions they really look good too. Great review :-)

You are not kidding about those Dragon fire pickups .I recently bought and install in my 80s Jackson which had a damaged EMG 81 . Single Humbucker at the bridge , Wow I was impressed. I usually buy EMG actives or Semour Duncans or Dimarzios . THis saved me a lot of cash and gave me that more edgy Metal sound .

Excited to switch pick ups in my old charvel, 2 single coils and a humbucker with a coil split toggle. The guitar sounds weak right now but hopeful with new picks it will be like having a new guitar. Dragon Fire!! Thanks Max!!

Thank you so much for posting this review, Max! I wouldn't have known about these pickups if it weren't for my husband coming across this video and showing it to me. After watching the video and hearing these amazing pickups, I told my husband I was going to get them as soon as I had the money. Well thankfully not too long ago, I was able to get these awesome pickups! I have an Ibanez Gio GRX20 that I bought last year at pawn shop. It came with basic pickups. It sounded okay, but it just didn't have the sound I wanted. I wanted something with some growl to it. And after installing these Crusader pickups, man, my guitar growls like a full-grown lion now, instead of sounding like a kitten! My husband and I are both very impressed! I love them! And, it gave my guitar some hella sustain! Something else my old pickups didn't have. I get about a good 20 second sustain on my strings now, instead of the maybe 5 - 10 second one I got before with the old pickups. If someone out there is looking for good, affordable pickups (they're well under $100 USD), that will make your guitar sound as good as any high-end guitar (if not better), get yourself these Dragonfire Crusaders! I personally don't think you'll regret it! I also plan on eventually getting a guitar like the one in this video, too! And put the Crusaders in it, too, of course! That guitar is a beast! 😊

I'm a beginner and let me tell you I did so much research on guitars under $200 and from what I have seen I think this will be an awesome platform to learn on and upgrade in the future! Wow! I was expecting to hear your usual soloing, which tbh, I find to be a bit boring. But damn that intro bit was amazing!

These looks exactly like Seymour Duncan Invaders, and I love it. I love the Invader look with the white plastics.

I bought that guitar a while back and was going to put the crusaders in it but found a single hexbucker cheap so I tried it. Very, very nice. I have the crusaders in one of those RG types you reviewed and love them but not as versatile as the hex buckers.

I think I'll try that for my Glarry Flame , Sounds great

Your good at explaining things you should show when you change out pick ups pots jacks etc.

I like the sound of those "S.D. invader" clones. ;-) If you look around Amazon.. you can find the single coil equivalents, with those same "hex screws" for the mag' poles.

@guitarmax, you should do a review and demo on the Wolf Floyd rose guitars. I've played them in the past and they sound amazing. You should totally buy one!

I put a dragonfire screamer in the bridge of my mason bernard and i love it.

Sounds fantastic. I'm legit going to pick a set of these up next week and see how they sound on a 5150. They got a unique sound. I can't really compare them with anything, lol. Though they do sound Duncan/EMGish. More so Duncan. There's not enough *ERRR* to be mostly based on EMG like I originally thought. There's more low end, which is definitely a good thing. Means you can get a more thumping tone. Got potential to be quite usable even in the studio. Though, they might be better live. Good video as always.

I bought a very similar set from Amazom.......$15 shipped!!!! Love the sound and responsiveness. I got 'em in green and put 'em in a white Squire Affinity Jazzmaster. Looks killer.

I put these in my 22 yr old acrylic mockingbird a few years back. They are very chromatic and dark.

Dragonifres are awesome. I remember dropping a set in my BC Rich Bich years ago when they first came out to see if they were any good. Those are ultra hot and sound great!

I got this guitar too, iv not got around to replacing Pickups yet, I added some locking tuning pegs and nectite bolts cos was going out of tune bad everytime I used tremolo bar, plays great now tho, might give these Pickups a try now cheers for the video,! Did you have any tuning issues? When I removed neck only three out of the four bolts had been drilled right by factory! Nectite system really made guitar feel and play great!

Really enjoy your videos. Have you ever tried any of the IVY guitars that they sell on Amazon? There seem to be at least a couple of dozen different models, most under $200.00, a couple under $100.00. They have a Brian May model that goes for $184.00 that I am sorely tempted to try! A buddy of mine put a set of Dragonfire active pickups on his Epihone Les Paul sound just as good as EMG 81/85 combo and he only paid 55 plus shipping.

I have a glarry burning fire lefty & I’ve completely gutted the inside electronically, I wanted to replace all of that cheap stuff & to hot rod it, I got a set of Seymore Dunken dimebag Darrell humbuckers & a dimarzio Steve Vai single coil, 2 alpha 500k standard pots & an S series mega switch & a 260k resistor for the tone pot, but I am quite confused about how to wire it all back up, any help with it would be greatly appreciated

Ive seen these with strsp buttons on the horn tip and on the back. I heard these do a neck dive and im worried about which one to get. I kinda like it on the tip of the horn and i would think it would neck dive less but i cant find them on the tip in the pictures.

After watching this video I bought this guitar on Wish.com in blue (no brand on the headstock). I was thinking of replacing the middle single coil with the $12 rail pickup you mention in one of your other vids, and the neck/bridge pickups with Dragonfire pickups. Do you think that would work? Also, cuz I’m brand new, I don’t understand all the positions of the selector switch.

I’ve also seen Dragonfire QuadRails, which are evidently the hottest passive pickups they made. Can’t find much info on them, save for one person who really didn’t know what they were talking about. hello; got the exact same guitar and the exact same pickups but when I made the swap oh poor me forgot to pay attention to the pickup rings; they are both slanted and not the same heights; I figure the thicker one goes on the bridge side and the slants inward....let me know if I am correct please
