The guitars are not speed up, they joked around and created that song per accident. They played the fastest and hardest things they possible can do and than they thought: hey thats pretty good! Hermann Li play is incredible and he can play it also with the head in the pool on a cruiseship concert(he played the solo blind). This dude is a beast.

When this song was released many people claimed that there was no way they could play this and said the same thing, that it was sped up. This video was kind of a response to those claims. It was real time and it is some insane level of skill to play not only that fast but also that complex of guitar work. Also don't forget the drummer, he was basically running a marathon on those kick pedals in about 5 minutes.

Had the pleasure of hearing this live during the original album tour. Herman no hand chugged a beer during part of the solo, these guys are insane.

Having seen Dragonforce live about 5 times in concert, I can attest that those guitars were in real time 🔥🔥🤘🤘courtesy of guitarists (and key members) Herman Li and Sam Totman. They rip on the guitars, video games... and chug on the beers... that's their M.O. 😂 Dragonforce is a power metal band from the UK, formed in the late 90's and debuting in 2003, this was their 3rd album 'Inhuman rampage' (2006) which became their biggest record. The band is great but I'd say this is their one hit wonder and it's because it's a song on Guitar Hero 3 and one of the hardest songs to master on that game so it ended being practiced a lot and gradually people became fans. There has been a long running debate if this has been sped up. Herman Li is now a Twitch streamer too, so I'm sure at some point he's probably addressed the rumours and might even have a whole story on it out there. The problem is, it was probably played at tempo for the recording and it was certainly lots of takes and stitching all the great takes of each section together. For the video, maybe they slowed the tempo so the guitarists could "play" it as exact as possible and in one take and brought it up to speed. There are some strong indicators that is the case. Keep in mind, it's also double-tracked in parts, harmonised from both players and all sorts going on. I've only seen a number of live performances and I've heard it down a half-step for the vocalist, a fraction slower for the guitarists and they perform much more realistically achievable interpretations of this. Still great guitarists live, but I don't think I've ever seen them pull off the record version. If you want to see a human pull off the whole song in one take with everything that is possible to do, Tina S. She nails it.
