Paul and James are the nicest guys you could possibly meet.They are both fantastic at what they do and the end product is amazing.The only negative about working for them is the amount of weight I put on due sampling the chocolates 🙂

What they'll need to do is move the business closer to a bigger city such as Glasgow or Edinburgh but keep a sort of small production plant for purpose of tours for tourists. - The small plant would be a source of revenue but mainly be there for brand purposes - where as the larger production plant would be nearer a bigger city to supply bigger customers

Well that's what I'm thinking with the tourism part - I've been up to the highlands many of times for whisky distillery tours - but if you're unfortunate enough to be the designated driver - it sucks! Be nice to have chocolate incorporated in such tours!

The problem is that they've grown their business to a level where they make good money but can't scale. The dragons are basically saying they shouldn't focus on being a massive brand and to just stay as a lifestyle business

Well here's the thing; regardless of whether a dragon would have come on board or not, they still got free amazing advertising. Cause the entire room of people who probably have bought extremely expensive and high quality chocolate and hot chocolate in their day due to their wealth, absolutely adored their product. So it makes you wonder how good it is. It's even making me think of trying out the product if I got the chance and could afford it (I live far from Scotland unfortunately).

They are there to invest in businesses, nothing to do with shame,they say it how it is. If these guy's want to build a big brand with investors on board then they need to move to proper premises. They don't want to move ,so it's their fault . That's fine for just them,if their happy and want to live there with no chance of growing the business then that's up to them. But if you are taking on investment then you have to do what it takes to build up your company. So that means they have to move and they not prepared, everything has taken em years to achieve. Nice guy's ,but as Deborah said she lived places she didn't want to in order to do what's best for the business, they won't do that,it's taken em 5 years to move 1 hour away cause they want to stay close to what they call home. No investor would invest in these two, it's a lifestyle business just for them,it gives em a living and they get to live where they love. The dragons have to be honest and tell it like it is,it's business after all. They were respectful, they all loved them and the product, they all said the product was great but they had to be honest with them,they have been turning business away for 9 years ,not exactly investable

the pitch fell short. and the dragons didn't make any efforts to understand it. it didn't take them 9 years to find a new location or anything. they just came to the conclusion that they wanted more recently. doesn't mean they weren't capable, just that they werent interested until this point. such a shame.
