This is a quick video on how to replace a broken drain pump on a Maytag Bravos MCT Washer. A common symptom of a faulty drain pump is that the water never drains out of the washer, and you get an Ld error code.

My washer stops at c8, replaced the pump with the right serial num. Still won't work, would that determine if it's a mother board problem?

I bought the cheepo off amazon. Lasted maybe a year. Its taking a dump again as I type. This time around I will pay for a good one. Thanks for the refresher. Good video! I will definetly take the back panel off this time!

Use a shop vac, set up for wet rather than having the mess. You can drain most of the water through the drain hose.

Very helpful video. Currently when my washer does not drain, I unplug it for 10 minutes and try again. It usually works, but it's happening quite frequently now. Did it happen to you as well?

Well regardless. I took apart the washer and there was a bit of lint build up...but couldn't reach in to get it all out, just some. Thanks again for the video, will use it again if the pump starts acting up .

Okay but where's the drain pump filter? I am having a hell of a time identifying anything that tells me where the filter is so I can clean it I have a suspicion that it is built into the pump and cannot be cleaned just for the fact that I can't find her placement parts for it either to even find out what it looks like

This model doesn't have a filter, per se, rather there is a trap at the bottom of the tub (under the basket). Hope it helps...

I guess I will Google that and not sure what I'm looking for but I have the LD code and I definitely do not have the sounds from the pump going out like you did so I'm thinking that that trap I guess is plugged which I first thought the filter was plugged but I guess it doesn't have one@@PracticalMechanic

Okay, good luck. Looks like a white cover the size of a checkbook, or so. Held down by 2 Phillips screws, if I recall correctly. Stuff gets stuck in there, like lint, socks or coins, can cause the long drain (LD) error.

So what happens if you try to do the diagnostic and F32 comes up

F32 means the water level doesn't change when the drain pump is supposed to be on. Could be a bad drain pump. Could also be a clogged drain hose. See if water comes out of the drain hose when it is supposed to be draining. Check for clogs in the drain line or in the drain pump. Check if the drain pump is running when it is supposed to. So I never didn replace my drain pump. I cleaned it (see comment above), and then I made the front two legs of the machine higher than the back ones. Which makes the water go to the back of the machine when draining. For some reason ive never had an issue since.
