Drake Bell, star of Drake & Josh, The Amanda Show, sits down for his first exclusive interview since the release of the HBO documentary ‘Quiet On Set.’ Drake discusses the response since he so bravely shared being sexually assaulted by Brian Peck (dialogue coach, producer, director on various Nickelodeon shows). Bell reveals more about his friendship and controversy with co-star Josh Peck, if he’s heard from other Nickelodeon stars since the documentary was released and what the documentary left out. Bell reveals more about Dan Schneider and their relationship as well as Dan’s apology. Plus, he discusses Rider Strong and Will Friedle’s latest comments on writing support letters for Brian Peck. Bell also discusses his child endangerment case and how the New York Times recently retracted their story calling him a sex offender. #drakebell #quietonset #joshpeck #amandabynes #arianagrande #danschneider #brianpeck #jamielynnspears #drakeandjosh #theamandashow

Because a lot of people don’t hold men accountable for their actions. Men can’t control themselves so it’s the job of everyone around them to make sure they aren’t tempted. It’s a fucked up Christian thing. Just look at middle and high schools that give girls dress code violations for wearing tank tops to school on a hot day. They get in trouble for “distracting” the boys. Rather than teaching the boys to control themselves, they teach the girls their bodies are shameful.

I have seen Quiet on the Set and this interview. All I have to say is WOW!!! I am amazed by the maturity, vulnerability, and STRENGTH that Drake has shown throughout this whole ordeal. Experiencing an abusive situation and keeping it inside for years has to be devastating and suffocating. To be abused by someone you trusted, Have to keep That secret inside for years, Have people blamed you for the abuse, and defend your abuse destroys the soul and breaks the heart. Unfortunately for Drake and people like Drake , they use unhealthy substances to deal with the pain. But The pain is still there. It's like putting a band aid on a gaping wound but blood is still rushing out and eventually the band aids gonna fall off due to the gushing blood. A person can use anything to cover up their trauma, food,, drink,, Drugs,, But unless one deals with that trauma and that grief and that pain s/he will never get better. And a person Has to want to get better. And drake found that desire, he wanted to get better So he went into rehab and got therapy. And praise GOD that he did and he got out of that dangerous situation. The man that I see on this screen right now is a beautiful, strong human being with a resilient spirit. I've always liked Drake Bell, always have liked his music and his acting. But now He is one of my heroes, one of my angels. The vulnerability Drake is showing is incredible.. Its sooo easy to write celebrities off and "cancel" them but what this whole documentary has brought to life is the real life ugliness that everyone goes through. And its not fair that celebrities are going through that in public. Sexual abuse happens in all industries except it will never be highlighted or scrutinized in any other way besides in show biz, and the public comes in like an angry mob and judges. Its insane. And we judge them for all the things we know in public. But it made me tear up when Drake was talking about Josh. Drake and Josh are really like brothers. Brothers don't get along all the time but will always be bonded whether they like it or not. Thats so true and it warms my heart. Drake is such a real person for highlighting all sides of the doc, admitting his own faults, and still holding space for the pain while being understanding of everyone involved even if he has every right to bash them all. He handles all these different layers with such grace. Definitely did a ton of work to get to the place he is at today. Wishing him nothing but more success and healing.

God, it hurts to think how the internet blindly believed the headlines without looking into the case - I feel terrible for believing it for a moment too. But when I first saw footage from that court hearing something didn’t feel right - he seemed intensely annoyed yet almost spaced out, while the girl did what seem like overacting. Looking back now, the way he reacted makes so much sense. I truly hope that young girl feels deep shame for what she did.

@@LaBellesGrace I agree, yet people pinpointed his reaction by saying "Oh he's only making those faces as if she's lying!" In which she WAS lying. The court and digital forensics found absolutely no evidence of Drake being a p-word and they found that he stopped engaging once he learned her age. For Drake: I cried watching you and your dad tell your story. I found myself finishing your sentences when you would take a pause before expressing how you felt. It is extremely painful when people choose to stand by the monster who hurt you. Monsters are master manipulators and unfortunately the truth is too much for some to face because it's so heinous but that doesn't detract from the fact they made it out to be "no big deal" with their letters. It's truly devastating when they're trying to blame you for what happened. You know this, but I am stating this in affirmation, it was never your fault, you did not ask for any of it and I hope those people who stood by the pure evil monster are not only ashamed but have learned they need to ask questions and see through the bullshit excuses before supporting another child predator. Thank you for sharing your story, I know that took a lot of courage and the pain of reliving the trauma is awful. But your advocacy will hopefully bring change and protection for children. The major problem with Rider and Will’s video about this is so much of it felt over-rehearsed. Practically the first twenty minutes when Danielle was talking. What many of us also couldn’t help but notice is that the video was very much about them, and over-defending themselves. They acted like the names of the victim and the assaulter was saying ‘Voldemort’. I don’t recall them once just saying they were sorry. They stated regret, but never said they were sorry. It felt like they were more worried about their legacy than about the damage they did by being on the wrong side of the court room, and thinking there was a situation in which a man ended up having sex with a minor was explainable and worth defending that person. Not even hearing the words ‘abuse’ or ‘assault’, how is any sexual contact okay enough to write that letter or stand next to him for support? They were adults who were long past knowing what was right and wrong.

the interviewer is bothering me so much it feels like she keeps waiting for him to stop talking and wanting to cut his answers short... she is not holding the sensitive space needed for this vulnerability. but i'm so appreciative of Drake doing this interview because after watching Quiet on Set i hope the story of exposing Nickelodeon isn't over and i will keep listening to Drake and others who are brave enough to speak out with their experience!!!

Yes! Why is no one else commenting on this. She interrupts him repeatedly throughout the interview during his very vulnerable responses. So frustrating to listen to.

I thought the same. It seemed like she was uncomfortable with his cadence being slower than her fast paced talking. For such a sensitive topic you can’t bulldoze through his answers. You need to give him time to finish his thoughts. She just wasn’t equipped to handle this conversation well.

Thank you for this informative interview. The “Quiet on Set” documentary was so horrifying, but I’m glad people who saw and experienced abuse are speaking out. I hope they get justice, because it’s long overdue.

Love the interview. Haven’t watched quite on set yet but the news came out when I’m also confronting childhood stuff and this and what he said helps a lot. Thank You :)

Ugh watching the documentary made me cry man. I just feel so terrible for what these kids went through; some of us got to laugh, and have a great time watching them… meanwhile they were getting abused on set, to make our childhood better… it just messed with my mind a bit. 😢

If someone was even alleged of being a child predator, how could 50 people back that guy up & stay in the court room after seeing it was Drake & not apologize even after the doc came out
