I can actually answer the whole thing about loot always being an issue in lower end guilds versus higher end guilds. The reason is because they ARE lower end guilds and thus don't kill raid bosses as quickly and easily. Thus the gear is more scarce AND requires more time and effort to get (in terms of actually raiding). So when that boss does FINALLY die and that loot FINALLY drops, everyone is that much hungrier for it.

both those story's describes like 80% of all the normal/casual/family guilds you see out there, its less drama and easier to just join an elitist guild than deal with all the mental baggage these guilds bring
