Tu Yao had the seed of evil in her heart & her love of absolute power & did those terrible deeds when she thought she could get away with it, that greed of power had corruptive effects that made all suffer. Lian Chao loved her sincerely & he didn't know about her corruptive love of power. Jin Mi was used as a pawn as much Run Yu even as Xu Feng were used as pawns by Tu Yao. Tu Yao had abused Run Yu terribly & tried to have those memories suppressed by that pill that she gave to him, even to slowly isolate him from having real friends & loving heart from his father just for her own selfishness. Someone had commented that Run Yu was the manipulator for the scheme, but looking at the entire picture, Tu Yao is the true culprit just for her corruptive evil entirely selfish own gains.

Tbh, the empress wanted power, but she also wanted the uncle to be strong. She also had her youth, her true love, her naiveness... But things just happen. Im seeing it that as we get older, as more things happen... reality can sometimes overtake what we know as true love. Her insistence and surrounding conditions secured the status quo. Jin Mi and all wanted to overturn all these. Her true love and friendship showed us the price of revealing it, the truth and all. Run Yu attained power, but by using it wrongly and forcing things with reason... He learned and lost a lot. My take: either the truth or go with the flow. If going with the truth, it can be painful and filled with dangers. Need to accept the consequences and move along.

Tbh empress was not originally evil. She loved the first brother but she thought he died in the war. She was heartbroken and Taiwei (the emperor) gave her warmth in her time of being heartbroken eventually actually loving him. Of course marrying Taiwei also meant getting more power so to her it's a win win situation. Yes she wanted power but she wanted love as well. When she found out the emperor wanted to the dethrone her which was around the time she was mourning the loss of her father she was furious. That's when she slowly but surely became evil at heart. She sarificed alot for him and got used in return. She clinged to her son and her power and abused both. However, I definitely agree she became evil and deserved harsh punishment for her crimes to floral immortal, dragonfish tribe, run yu, ruo ruo, Muci to and jin mi. She owe them so much and death and p punishment in one life time is no wayyy close to enough. I hate her character but I understood it. Still think she needed to be tortured though.... Also Taiwei is the true manipulator the one who started all this madness.

even though she doesn’t understand romance and care for everyone who’s her friends but I can see she cares for Phoenix more than the rest then the pill cracked when she met Phoenix in Mortal Realm and started to have feeling for him then she fell deeply in love with him and the trial end they both realized they love each other so when they returned to Heaven Realm she still have feelings for him that’s why they were intimate and then Run Yu fixed the pill to block her feelings caused her killed Phoenix by mistake.

Malsawm Tluangi she is still despicable, she never loved him the only attraction she had for him is because he was the eldest to inherit the throne. When he was assumed dead she quickly jumped ship. If she loved him how could she live with the younger brother who killed her love. The eldest was a fool who didn’t understand her true nature, she wanted the most beautiful thing in the world which for her is supreme power, not his love.

I'm glad to see this episode (I only watched the selected best clips and the ending already). In my belief no one born evil. I wanted to know why TuYao was a so jealous, mean and hateful person. Thought there must have been a series of events that led her to becoming cold-hearted and going down the evil path. She used to be as.naive as a young and playful girl and love someone. Women after all in this era and culture were used as political means through arranged marriage or just an item to satisfy their men's needs. So ensuring as much power and favor from their master (authority/husband) as possible was very important for their survival and was the purpose of life. (And TaiWei was not caring but selfish and infatuated with Zifen and worse still had a child (RunYou) with a concubine resembling Zifen before TuYao gave birth to XuFeng.) TuYao would have had a different life if she took a path with LianChao who was genuine and uninterested in power, politics and fame. But although they were romantically attracted, they were also essentially different.
