The day after my worst Inktober drawing, I made my best one (so far). Failing really does motivate you to do better. Except then once you do better, you have higher expectations of yourself and if you can't do that well again, it can make you feel SUUUPER down on yourself. But .... Inktober is about improvement, not perfection, and I am keeping at it with that in mind. Even if one drawing isn't as good as the last, I feel that through the trials and errors of practicing inking techniques and styles that I am not entirely comfortable or familiar with, I am learning and becoming familiar with those things, which will make me better whether I realize it or not. What prompt lists are you using? I noticed that not all the words you're using are from the official Inktober list.

Inspirational quote: Far from what I once was, not yet what I'm going to be. I don't know who this is by but I like it because I think it's good to keep in mind how far you've come and not be so self-critical but also look forward to how much you will achieve and improve in the future.

I completely understand the wanting to throw away or stop working on something you're not happy with! I struggle a lot with starting anything because the fear of not doing well stops me. My boyfriend bought me a really lovely handmade art book a year ago and is always encouraging me to use it, but I've only just painted in it this week. I'm so happy I finally gave it a go because I'm loving the art book and found that watercolour isn't as scary as I first thought :)

Thank you for sharing your story about the sad rabbit and fishing the drawing out of the garbage can. I do this with my writing, and watercolors, all the time. I give up too soon when it doesn't work out and trash the pieces that were less than perfect. It's good to know I'm not alone in this and to be inspired to not give up and keep going.

On day 3 I drew something horrible and I hated it so much. I wanted to cry and just tear it off but then I gathered the courage to start again and the end result was so much better. But just like you did, I did learn something about dealing with failure and expectations. It's amazing how much art can teach you. There are way too many life lesson hidden in a stroke of a brush or a pen. Happy painting for the rest of the inktober! :)

Oh my gosh! I felt exactly like you described. I started out strong and very excited about participating. Then my newborn got sick and I had to be with him in the hospital for 10 days and completely lost my drive after that :(. I felt that if I couldn't do all 31 days then I should not continue. Now i think I'll pick my drawings back up where i left off and just continue at my own pace. Thank you so much for sharing!!

I used to draw everyday in my teenage years and I’ve lost my passion because I thought myself how to draw anime back then, when I tried to branch out to try to create my own style I was a beginner again and the perfectionist in me was just so frustrated I stopped. I want to improve in my drawings. I try to draw realistic✍🏼. I know that it is very hard to draw realistic, but I think I just have to keep practicing. My experience shows me, that I am improving the fastest, when I just draw every time or as much as possible😊. My mistakes helps me to improve. Gee she sounds like me!” XD It is a big commitment doing a challenge like this, went into it this year telling myself I was going to work on quicker, looser sketches to try get out of my perfectionism. . . Three hours into the first day and figured that wasn’t going to work :D Love your darling paintings, I hope the second half of the month goes better for you. Personally I normally hit a depressing couple of days once or twice in the month where I hate everything I’m doing and it would be really easy to quit, , but if I can work my way out of it things get a little easier!

You did and been doing a great job. Have faith in yourself and make it absolutely fun. That's what you taught me in watching your tutorials. And I hope you feel better. My doctor told me a trick if you have access phelm(mucus) in throat and chest, drink lemonade. If you are diabetic do what you need to do about not so much sugar but it helps me everytime.

These are awesome. I hope you will use these for your next bullet journal set up. I have been starting to get comfortable with drawing. But also hard on myself and realized I need to be easy with being perfect. I also learn from my trial and error and know that I will constantly improve my drawung skills. Keep up the great work. I’ve been doing a daily video for Inktober and I’m a perfectionist too- ( its a curse! 😫) so thought a painting every day (taking max 1hour?!)- would be doable- but I was expecting each painting to be an improvement on the previous day- nothing like setting yourself up to fail right?!! But, after thinking it through, I realised that it’s supposed to fun and from then on I’ve tried to be less hard on myself- your pictures are beautiful btw- and great video- glad I found your channel 😍😊
