I didn't realize NBA players worked so much harder than our army, doctors, teachers and literally the most Americans living paycheck to paycheck. The man makes millions for being over 6'2 and good at a literal game. There's a reason most basketball players humble themselves. The majority of ppl working 9-5 even with degrees prefer that someone whose qualifications for making millions more than women in the same career due entirely to male genetics be tactful.

@@goddessrick8734 they are being paid millions from tax payer dollars. They are making millions from TV contracts, ticket sales, merchandise, etc. They make what they are worth. People pay to see NBA games simple as that. There is demand for the game. The WNBA has never made a profit. The NBA already funnels all the funds to keep the league afloat. Half the world population is women. It's not men's job to make the WNBA successful. If women went to the games and supported the players they would make what NBA players are making. But instead The Bachelor and Keeping up with the Kardasians is what people would rather watch. And all the Kardashians are billionaires. This isn't rocket science. WNBA tickets are very affordable, why aren't women attending games and supporting players?

If Draymond supposedly cares so much about the WNBA then giving up a little bit of money shouldn't be a big deal then. If you don't want to give any of your salary to them then your words are empty. It's just like in real life what good is support if you don't give up something to show how much you care? The fact that he said this shows that he really doesn't care at all. Is it the NBA players responsibility to donate and support the WNBA? No. However don't act like you want to do everything you can to support them but then you have zero desire to open your checkbook. The WNBA could definitely use more money to keep more athletes from going overseas and to get better sponsorship deals for TV. It's actually quite difficult to even find a WNBA game on TV to begin with. If they are losing athletes and they can't get on TV how the hell are they supposed to make a profit?

The WNBA clearly isn't as entertaining or else the players would make more money. The bottom line is women aren't as athletic as men on average so the NBA is more entertaining that's why more people watch it. The WNBA doesn't deserve as much pay as the NBA because the NBA brings in way more money and numbers.

@@oumarou_a_god that's why basketball hoops should be more like golf where players really learn skill to measure their shots instead of just relying on muscle memory. Like golf, each hole is cut into the green in different locations and throughout a weekend tournament the holes get moved each day so players never get used to the placement of the cups in the greens. Each half of the game the hoop height should get adjusted and relocated a few inches so players can't shoot basically blindfolded using their muscle memory to make shots based off where they are on the floor. Make it for both leagues. People keep saying scoring in the NBA is too easy now should we move the 3pt line further out... no constantly adjust the height and players will have to make 160+ height of rim adjustments to their shots per season.

Not to mention the active wnba players constantly shitting on the nba. Wnba is a welfare program and just imagine if they spent that money building businesses in impoverished neighborhoods or actually paying the employees that work game nights. Those women and men working the concession stands are all working for free. Nobody should support the nba or wnba for that matter. They despise their own fan base.

I get that they want to live the hoop star life and make the big bucks like the nba players do, but sometimes it's better to just be a pioneer of the game. The pioneers of the wnba may not make money like the nba but they will be recorded in history as the women that had to sacrifice the pay in order to build the brand and lay the foundation for future women to have the opportunity. The wnba faces a lot of backlash because of the skill gap (which results in the profit gap, which leads to the pay gap), but getting more interest in the sport will allow better competition that will increase exponentially year after year. They will eventually reach a point of profitability. It is like a start up company, you must invest and sacrifice in the early stages before you can make the big profits, the wnba is no different. The nba even went through a time like this but it was many decades ago.

And that’s the thing. Equal opportunity doesn’t mean equal outcome. People don’t seem to understand. I’ve seen Gender and Race debates where people say “well there’s not as many people of this category working in this field”. No one asks how many people are applying to those

@@toptiertech7291 great point, people aren’t looking at other variables. For example, in the NBA I don’t think every player is being paid the same amount of money… correct me if Im wrong but the Pay in the NBA isn’t equal like lebron james might be paid more than another player even if they have the same seniority. In NBA they are paid depending on how great of a player they are and none of them complain about that. So it’s the same thing in the WNBA they are being paid based off of their skill level. Tell me if you agree with me when I say this but I think they should lower the rim in the WNBA, the same way as they lower the net in volleyball…

i think the wnba performs (minus the awesome dunks, sorry it’s a large attraction) at a high level. the issue is that there are only so many fan/sponsor $ to go around. they simply want $ that isn’t available to them and many other sports. the pie is only so big and only ever 100%

I think it’s the fact that their salaries are hardly livable. It’s not fair that women who attained the highest level in basketball only get to live paycheck to paycheck. They still have to practice and play almost everyday and put their bodies on the line for a sport. If they bump up the salaries it might actually incentivize women to consider it as a viable career path. Even other professions get paid not based on how much money they bring. A company still in its early stages will pay its engineers and management a 6 figure salary while being negative in profit. Otherwise they would have to leave to work elsewhere. Look at how little incentive to play in the all star game there is in the NBA and how unentertaining it is to watch it.

@@BRBallin1 , what are you talking about? The average salary among 151 WNBA athletes was $102,751 in 2022. If you don’t think that is a livable wage than I don’t know what to tell you.
