Hun, lots of us remember a life without even a mobile. I yearn for that time again. Steve jobs banned all iphones from his home. When you arrived, you had to leave all rectangles in a box near the front door. What does this say about his real belief in a product he conned you all to buy?

I stopped social media 2 years ago. I spend time every morning reading, praying and Journaling. I work out 5 days a week. I cut back on alcohol. I am careful with what "junk food" is going into my mind. I also do a lot of creative hobbies or things that help settle the mind such as diamond art, puzzles, reading books, painting, strategic board games. Go explore a new hobby. Take a class. Learn something new! I always encourage people to ask themselves "what value does this add to my life?" Creating good healthy habits for mind, body, soul is important. My hope is that my children see HOW I live, not just what I preach. If you're reading this, try just implementing one healthy habit and each week add something else while eliminating the unhealthy habits. You can do it!!!!

We are overloaded for sure with information. Last Sunday I left my phone in the house and sat on my deck for two hours. I just listened to the birds, watched the deer and petted my dog. It was liberating. I am purposely setting my phone somewhere where I really have to make an effort to go get it, instead of keeping it in my pocket. I grew up with landlines and no answering machine. The world did not end if I missed something.

all technocrap goes through the fad phase, the iphone is no different. When laptops first appeared many went crazy for them for no useful reason. After a few years they almost died out. Only making them thinner, lighter and more portable did they get attention. But I hardly see anyone using on the train any more. Same will happen with iphones. I was listening to the end, and deeply appreciate the message. I'll keep trying to find her. ... Otherwise, I have to say compared to the sea of podcasts and videos I watch, this for me, this was profoundly and surprisingly valuable and moving -- the third factor of mindset with its concept of capable and deserving, or perhaps viewed as the heart in the head to hand connection; the inclusion of energy in PxE(S3); dominant questions - not just the one I have but the one I can shape and give myself; and the energy and authenticity that came through my screen when you showed gratitude for safe spaces, identified who you want to make proud, or told me to listen up to your final message. Truth Bumps ... thank you, an Elephant

it's a bugger to take a sidebar every five minutes and your flow is excellent but at 18:00 "success" I would say is just being happy, making others around you happy or cared about or respected etc., however, some people define success as money, of course they're the opposite of enlightened. only halfway thru the video but it's great so far. Krishnamurti would agree with your ideas from what I hear so far.

Always remember that it only gets easier. At first its like pushing the ball up the hill - its painful and frustrating - this is where most ppl just give up. But if u can stick through that initial difficulty it only gets easier. Eventually the ball gets to the top of the hill and then its all downhill from there. Hope this helps, GL Katherine.

You also have to be really patient with yourself. Remember the microsteps. It may be difficult for you to make these changes bc of the overstimulation from all of the media bombarding is everyday. On top of that not everyone experienced the Pandemic the same. Some people thrived, while a lot of us got thrown off our axis. It sounds like that may have happened to you as it did to me. Keep asking yourself helpful questions, take yourself gently by the hand, and remind yourself that it's okay to take micro actions. It's okay. You are only in competition with yourself. I wish you all of the patience & perseverance. 💖🐉🌿✨

I hear you... Every single sentence is a description of me. I’ve made some steps in a last few days to change trajectory of my life and deleted all the apps that I was glued to. It is so weird to see myself picking up the phone and following the pattern to open those apps for no reason at all. One of the things I have still tendency to do is opening new tab in the browser and checking the weather (from my bookmarks). This morning I checked my email on full autopilot probably at least 5 times, tried to open IG (deleted) multiple times, I opened 6 blank tabs and 4 weather tabs, and when I noticed I have all those tabs open I realised I still have no clue about the weather, or emails… I’m on 11 minutes of this video and had to go back 2 times. Also last 3 minutes I have no idea what was said. I spent all my free time staring at the screen. It feels like my life lost any meaning. Addiction stole my life. Time to get it back. As for feeling lonely - loneliness is not cured by presence of others. Searching for others, for their approval, attention etc is a sole reason for loneliness to exist. It is a side effect. We crave people so we feel lack. If we don’t crave them, we can’t feel lack. Best cure for me was to stop searching for approval from others. No one is really able to give full understanding to another as long as one is scared of rejection. Best is to spend time, a lot of time with yourself and watch all of your emerging patterns, don’t supress them, give them time, accept their existence. Be gentle with yourself, don’t reject any part that comes up. You really don’t have to acomplish anything, you deserve love the way you are, with all your faults. Don’t ever feel guilty for being not perfect. Allow yourself to love yourself, with all imperfections. That last thing may change your life❤

🎯 Key Takeaways for quick navigation: 00:00 🧠 Many people today struggle with focus and memory due to the distraction and overstimulation caused by technology. 07:36 🌡️ Metaphorically suggests that we should act like a thermostat rather than a thermometer, meaning we should influence our environment rather than merely reacting to it. 10:21 🌳 Incorporating elements from nature, like sunlight or grounding exercises, can be a natural and effective way to boost brain health. This approach also emphasizes the importance of hydration and breath control for optimal performance. 12:00 💧 Staying hydrated can boost reaction time and thinking speed by up to 30%, emphasizing the importance of regular water intake. 14:31 🎯 By visualizing the end of a successful day, we can determine what needs to be done and how we should behave to make it a reality. 16:09 🔄 Success often follows the pattern of being, doing, and then having. By becoming the person who can do the necessary actions, we can achieve what we want. This approach suggests that success is more sustainable when our actions align with our identity. 18:55 ➡️ Encourage turning nouns into verbs in our life. This implies turning passive aspects (like memory, motivation, focus) into active processes we can control. 21:09 🔄 Behaviour is belief driven. It is crucial to understand our internal beliefs to drive changes in our behaviours. 25:13 🧠 Our brain is like a supercomputer and our self-talk and beliefs are the programs it will run. We should avoid telling ourselves negative things that we don't want to become true. 26:21 📖 Jim Kwik's book "Limitless" encourages readers to advance beyond their perceived limitations. 28:55 🔄 Consistent action is a true indicator of commitment. 29:36 💡 Our mindsets and assumptions about life aspects such as health, wealth, and relationships can limit us. 35:09 🤔 The speaker warns against sticking to a victim mentality, which often leads to self-limiting beliefs and prevents personal growth. 36:06 💭 Talks about the danger of repetitive negative thought patterns, leading to a feedback loop of negative experiences. 38:26 👣 Speaks about the importance of believing in one's ability to instigate change, regardless of the challenges faced in life. 39:07 🌟 Shares inspiring stories of Auschwitz survivors who maintained an empowering mindset amidst unimaginable circumstances. 42:10 🌍 Recalls the story of a woman who survived the Rwandan genocide by hiding in a bathroom, illustrating the power of resilience and forgiveness. 43:45 📚 Discusses the book "Left To Tell" by the Rwandan genocide survivor, emphasizing the significance of stories in human resilience and recovery. 48:53 👀 Explanation of the mind's algorithm: whatever you engage with, you get more of, emphasizing the need to stand guard over our minds and what we let in. 50:59 🧩 Quincy Jones' mindset of viewing problems as puzzles, a shift in perspective that leads to more constructive problem-solving. 52:09 🌐 Importance of changing your point of view by traveling, meeting different people, and experiencing different cultures to enrich your perspective. 52:23 💡 The problems we perceive often stem from our attitudes and assumptions about the problem itself rather than the actual problem. 52:50 🧠 Mindset and belief systems play a crucial role in our actions and decisions, potentially leading to self-sabotage if they are negative or limiting. 54:30 🎲 Motivation is needed to apply methods and change mindsets to break free from limiting boxes. 55:10 ⏭️ Limitless motivation can be achieved through the formula P (Purpose) x E x S3. 57:58 🚀 Understanding and acknowledging one's purpose can exponentially improve the ability to learn and grow. 01:00:05 🔄 A story of personal transformation highlights the power of purpose and mindset in driving significant life changes. 01:00:33 🎯 Jim Kwik emphasizes the importance of starting with a purpose. Without a purpose, you won't retain the information you consume. 01:03:31 🍽️ Your lifestyle behaviors can significantly affect your energy level. Overeating or eating unhealthy food can leave you in a food coma, hindering your motivation to act on your purpose. 01:04:15 🧠 Brain health is essential, and it can be influenced by various factors like sleep, diet, and managing stress. Neglecting these factors can lead to exhaustion and lack of motivation. 01:05:51 📖 Breaking down your reading into smaller sessions makes it manageable. For the average reader, 45 minutes a day should suffice to finish a book in a week. 01:06:32 💪 Overcoming difficulties requires taking the tiniest action possible towards your goal, an action so small that you can't fail. 01:08:10 😨 When people feel fear, they typically look for safety rather than trying to grow due to uncertainty. 01:08:25 🔍 Instead of downgrading dreams to meet current situations, consider upgrading your mindset, motivation, and methods to meet those dreams. 01:09:35 🌅 A morning routine can include mindfulness, movement, and mindset work to start the day positively. 01:10:04 📖 Reading something uplifting or thought-provoking in the morning can help set a positive tone for the day. 01:10:33 📚 Keep inspiring books around to make it easier to pick up a good read without overthinking. 01:14:15 📉 Many people claim they can't read books anymore due to a lack of attention span, which may be due to technology-induced distraction. 01:16:22 🔄 Simple activities, like brushing your teeth with the opposite hand, can increase mindfulness and serve as "gateway habits". 01:16:36 🍽️ Not only is it important what we eat, but also how we eat. Being present during meals allows for better digestion. 01:21:15 🏆 Reflecting on the day like an athlete with a coach can lead to improved performance in various areas of life. 01:23:01 🖊️ Handwriting notes is often more effective for comprehension and retention than typing. 01:25:22 📖 Emphasizes the importance of purposeful reading as a mental exercise. 01:27:57 📅 Scheduling time for your personal growth activities, like reading or working out, is crucial. If you don't schedule them, they might not get done. 01:33:17 🎬 Sharing an anecdote about actor Will Smith, Jim Kwik emphasizes how Smith's dominant question, "how do I make this moment even more magical," is manifested in his actions. 01:34:43 ✨ For Jim Kwik, his dominant question was, "how do I make this better," which he found to be an empowering question that helped him take action to improve situations. 01:35:25 ❓ Jim Kwik suggests three key questions to ask when learning something new: "how can I use this," "why must I use this," and "when will I use this." 01:37:34 📅 To ensure the utilization of knowledge, it's essential to schedule when you will apply what you've learned. 01:37:47 📚 Reading can be made more effective by asking the right questions beforehand. 01:43:15 ❓ He also highlights the importance of asking questions while reading to prevent memory loss and enhance comprehension. 01:45:18 👆 Kwik suggests the use of a visual Pacer (like a finger or a pen) while reading. This helps increase the reading speed significantly. 01:46:40 👀 Kwik explains the reasoning behind using a visual Pacer while reading: it's a natural practice observed in children which enhances focus and efficiency. 01:50:25 📚 Even a modest increase in reading speed (25-50%) can have significant benefits over time. 01:51:32 🖊️ The act of underlining key phrases and making notes can enhance comprehension and recall. 01:55:25 💡 Everyone has a unique way of learning and executing tasks, going beyond traditional learning styles. 01:55:54 📊 Jim Kwik suggests there are four cognitive types, offering a personalized approach to learning. 01:57:16 🐆 Cheetahs are characterized by quickness and intuition. They thrive in fast-paced environments and are good implementers. 02:00:01 📝 The Brain Code Quiz provides personalized learning, goal setting, and lifestyle strategies depending on your dominant and secondary cognitive type. 02:01:23 🧘‍♂️ Happiness requires having the curiosity to know yourself and the courage to be yourself, as per Jim's philosophy. 02:03:27 👵 His time spent in senior centers and nursing homes polishing off memories gave him insight into the wisdom and regrets of the older generation. 02:04:09 🕰️ Regret often stems from limiting one's life based on societal expectations and worrying about other people's opinions. This insight encourages living a fulfilled life according to your own terms. 02:06:24 🚗 After a near-death experience in a car accident, Jim Kwik decided to sign a book deal to leave a legacy behind. 02:16:37 😌 Relaxation is crucial for better reading. A relaxed state allows for expanded vision, thus helping to read multiple words at a time. 02:17:32 📚 Most people haven't upgraded their reading skills since childhood. Kwik encourages developing these skills to enhance reading speed and comprehension. 02:21:20 📚 Speed can enhance focus. If you're moving quickly, such as when reading, there's no time to be distracted, improving comprehension. 02:21:49 🧠 Those who read faster generally comprehend better due to improved focus. 02:22:45 📖 Reading should be prioritized and done purposefully. Questions to ask yourself include: how can I use this, why must I use this, when will I use this? 02:24:54 🧩 Prioritize learning how to learn - this is a foundational skill that can help you in many areas of life. This was a great podcast. I'm a 64 years-old female. I do exercises everyday including yoga on Saturdays and Sundays. I try my best to eat healthy, making sure that I take my supplements. I walk more than 10,000 steps daily. However, these postmenopausal years are horrible when it comes to sleep, motivation and attention span. Due to hormonal changes, of course. I haven't be able to finish a book in years. That's why I don't buy books anymore. Having sleep apnea does not help either. I would love to listen to a similar podcast, focus on postmenopausal women. Thank you.

Becoming a mother and raising a 4 year old has made me way less active on my phone. I don’t do morning scrolls or unlimited screen time. I just use my phone when I need to text or call and basically that’s it… when I drive I like to listen to videos such as this. Honestly having kids slows you down in the best way possible. For a while when my daughter was young I was pretty addicted to Instagram, & I regret that so much I wish I could go back. Now I try to give her all of me and my phone stays in the room. I recently deleted Instagram and it’s so nice without the distraction. I don’t bring it out unless I need to look at a cooking recipe. I just realized in this day and age parenting is different. I was born in 1997 so all that technology and distraction is constantly around me now as an adult and I don’t want my daughter to experience that.

I agree with you, my son is 2 and I had to deliberately delete instagram, I got off facebook a few years ago. And you are so right when we were growing up we saw our parents using their phones to speak to people now a days I always have EarPods in. I had to realize that I have to take a step back from reality and do a lot more physical things with him. I had to purposely write because when working or anything else I'm tying on a computer. Nothing has to be manual

1:29 - This is the #1 coaching tip I give my executive clients - professional folk with a 'to do' list a mile long - I share that the list has no 'time' component and thus will likely never get done, however if you schedule your activities in your diary you are more likely to get them done, it frees your mind from having to remember a host of things and if you take some time at the end of each day to check your scheduling quality - did something take twice as long as you anticipated? - then you get quite good at it. My clients report a clear headedness and calmness that they weren't expecting - this is usually because they didn't realise how much stuff they were trying to keep in their active memory.

Once upon a time, if I drove somewhere, I would "feel confident" that I could repeat the journey at any time in the future. I don't get that feeling if I use satnav. It's like in the past I was constantly tracking my position, but with satnav, you only know what the next turn is. I have also learnt to ignore the sense of anxiety of not knowing where I am whilst on the journey that I had when I first started using satnav.

So, instead of laying in bed for 10-15 mins after my first alarm and scrolling on my phone, I got up right away. Didn’t look at my phone until I got into work and found this video to watch. Learning to be dysfunctional as a child will mess up your life. The harsh inner critic will hold you back. You have to develop a positive voice and not listen to the negative voice. I find healing my inner child is key to be present. I do love yoga, meditation, tapping with exercise to release negative energy in body and positive affirmations. I also release to a higher power. I would like to add something important, compassion was touched on briefly here. That is extremely important. Please do not compare your self to the stories mentioned here. Everyone has a different story. Don’t think, “my story isn’t as horrible as some mentioned here today but I still can’t get it together. What’s wrong with me?” Have compassion for yourself. Your feelings are valid. You’ve gone through and are going through some things. Let’s now learn how to overcome it. Focus on your own journey and don’t compare yourself to anyone else’s.

In recovery from alcohol for many years and yet it was only when I admitted that thinking was my greatest addiction that a deeper dimension within me was able to be accessed. Recognizing thinking is habitual/and an act of doing and that the thoughts in my head were actually energetic life forms that have to live too (yet not who I AM ) did I experience relief/peace. Finding portals to presence and periods of no thought began to declutter and create a space/gap wherein just being arose in a cultural climate where everything points to do, do, do and avoid silence/stillness at all costs. This video resonates for me out of its pure humility, simplicity and earnestness-thank you to both of you as the words are ALIVE and point away from falling below thought to rise above 🙏🏻

Time and time again, I need to work on myself and stop procrastinating. I know I self sabotage myself because Ive done so much in the past. Maybe I am burnt out or tired of all the bs. I know I vegetate and just get lost. That's how I found this video. Thank you for reminding me to get off my ass...

My friend gifted me Eger's book "The Gift". Almost 2 years ago. I've read half of it. I'm gonna open it again tonight when I go to bed. I struggle with adult diagnosed ADHD, stimulant treatment, addictive personality, past traumas, relationships at home and work and most important - self love... Thank you both for this podcast❤

Brilliant 👏👏👏my Kwik exaple for watching and implementing new knowledge. I had a customer the other day who is named Otho. I said that’s a great name what does it mean? He replied it’s a family name but I’m not sure the meaning. On break I Googled Otho, it’s German and means wealthy. So as I was going to my next table game, I stopped and told my customer what his name definition is. His smile was wide and bright. Otho shook my hand and said, thank you for taking the time to “ pay attention to my name.” Dr Chatterjee and Jim Kwik are brilliant 🤩🤩

Im loving this episode... I notice alot of Similar quotes Jim uses that mirror Les Brown. "It all hard, choose your hard" Sometimes the season your in really lets the idea resonate with you. My life has changed substantially for the better, in the past 7 years... I feel stagnant right now. I truly appreciate the conversation here. Tomorrow is a new day but the work starts now... Starting with intention and gratitude

This Guy makes so much sense. Interesting how I always thought fiction books were a waste of time . Interesting how he says fiction can build empathy. Love this man. Ty Rangan so much. I always love ur shows and ur authenticity. God bless you.
