I had a hard blow to the outside of my knee. Went to the doctors and he sent me off to x-rays and said: “if the x-ray doesn’t show any injury, it’s nothing to worry about. It can hurt for a long while after, it’s not uncommon.” 5 weeks later and still in pain, I took matters in to my own hands & went to a physical therapist, who graded my injury a 2, possibly 3 but it was hard to tell from how long ago the injury was initially. HOW ON EARTH DOES A DOCTOR MISS THAT?? 💀

Hello Dr. David, last week I ran 7 kilometers, and the next day I walked 4 kilometers without resting. During the walk, I felt slight discomfort, but I ignored it and continued walking. Now, I'm experiencing slight pain and a clicking sound in my knee when I walk, but there's no swelling, I do have pain when walking extensively or when I apply slight pressure on the leg or else I don't have pain.(in my MCL)

Hello sir, in may of 2008 i had a verified partial tear in my right acl. I never required surgery...and continued on with working out and regular life and a couple of days ago, I was just putting some stuff in the trunk of my car, while I was standing, I shifted my weight to my back foot quickly, then felt a pop, heard the pop, and i felt it all up in my upper calf area behind the knee. at first I thought I had torn my calf...but upon further review and after going to the e.r., they took some x -rays(which we know is just only standard procedure and shows nothing....)--they thought it may be some ligament damage....there is no bruising at this time...but i am on crutches, taking ibuprofen throughout the day and icing it throughout the day, I need to elevate it more often...but it's awkward as i'm unsuccessfully trying to take care of my elderly parents who both have some sort of dementia going on...my father has parkinson's also... first time i ever had a major injury to a weight bearing joint and i'm 46 years old. I'm going to see an orthopedic surgeon asap... well.. to all who read this, have a great day!

Had an MCL injury a month ago during BJJ session and actually felt it snap 🤯 The doctor in A&E said it should heal on its own, and didn't recommend and X-ray or even a brace. He also didn't grade it. One month on and still in significant pain. Been trying to find th balance in between staying active and mobile but not over doing it but also cant stand on my feet for more than an hour before I feel it! Stairs are VERY hard. The area is still very painful to touch. Not sure whether its worth paying for an MRI at this stage? Thanks for the recommendations re supplements. This is something I have at least been focussing on!

hi Dr. David Geier, 2 days ago I was in a rugby game and one of the players fell on my knee he pushed me to the back not to the side, that night I felt a bit of pain but for the day after I felt pain, a small sowling and I saw a red circle on my MCL I think that was blood inside, today I can't run but I can walk slowly and the pain much better when I sit on the ground I feel a little bit, the circle directly on the center MCL join, now I really think about this and feel a bit nervous. is my MCL torn ? my knee is stable but weak. When can I back to the games? when feel confident with my knee and have no pain it does not mean that for the next time, I will get injured faster than before? Thank you Dr. David Geier
