As an asian, we really care about skin brightening. A lot of my skincare products contain the ingredients mentioned. These are what i've used. All of these are Korean products except The Ordinary. It's not i don't use western skincare at all, but when it comes to brightening product, it seems that asian skincare have more potent brightening ingredient 😅 I have tons of products that i have tried but i list down products that have the mentioned ingredients located at top 5 in their ingredient list. ... Vitamin C: Tia'm C Source Serum (Contain 20% L-ascorbic acid), Some By Mi Yuja Niacin Serum (Contain 82.3% Yuja fruit) Hydroquinone: Cos De Baha 2% Hydroquinone Brightening Serum. Kojic Acid: Cos De Baha 2% Hydroquinone Brightening Serum. Azelaic Acid: Cos De Baha 10% Azelaic Acid Serum. Vitamin A: The Ordinary Retinol. Salicylic Acid: Cosrx Blackhead Power Liquid (4% Natural BHA consists of willow bark water as the 1st ingredient and Betaine Salicylate as the 3rd), Cos De Baha Salacylic Acid BHA 4% Serum Licorice Root: Acwell Licorice pH Balancing Cleansing Toner (This have 10% Licorice root extract as 2nd ingredient after water). Niacinamide: Tia'm 10% Niacinamide+2% Arbutin, The Ordinary 10% Niacinamide+1% Zinc. Sunscreen: Purito Centella Green Level Unscented ... The most powerful brightening product goes to Cos De Baha Hydroquinone Brightening Serum. This serum alone contains a lot of actives mainly for brightening which is 2% Hydroquinone, 4% Azelaic Acid, 4% Niacinamide, Kojic Acid, Salacylic Acid, Lactic Acid, Hyaluronic Acid. I used this for spot treatment and it works wonder😭 ... Sorry, most of them are unfamiliar to you, but i suggest you to try them since they are very cheap yet effective!!! If you don't know what to choose among the list, I suggest you to try Tia'm C Source Serum, Cos De Baha Hydroquinone Brightening Serum and Cos De Baha Azelaic Acid Serum. The Tia'm C Source Serum is for people who are familiar with vitamin C as it's too potent. Otherwise, i suggest you to try their niacinamide one as it did brightened my friend's face significantly while he has sensitive skin. Hope it helps whoever read this 😁

Still got my wrinkles and spots but the quality of my skin is glowing and supple. I really don't think there is much you can do about the natural effects of age.....I just live with them and use a light to medium coverage foundation when I feel like it NOT full because I'd rather have real looking skin than a mask.....right? Dr Dray hello why you never discuss taking medicine to calm & balance hormones most melasma occurs due to imbalance hormones please discuss tablets to take for melasma putting things on top layer of skin doesn’t help much. Thats why melasma always comes back. You have to control the hormones otherwise buying skincare products is just waste of money

Dr. Dray- thanks for mentioning all these ingredients in one video. Very helpful!! I have rosacea which is fortunately under control with religious use of mineral sunscreen and some other precautions. I developed some freckles on my whole face and patchy chloasma on the cheeks near my temples during pregnancy. Pregnancy is over long time back and I am not lactating either so which ingredient will be most beneficial for me. Finacea stings like crazy. I tolerate adapalene well on my cheeks but not on the temples. I have also tried triple cream including tretinoin, HQ and steroid but my skin couldn’t tolerate it. Please suggest.

I have had great success with The Ordinary Alpha Arbutin 2% + HA and it is very affordable. I spot treat a stubborn dark spot on my cheek which I have had for years!! It took about 2 months of consistent use (and sunscreen) and now it has faded to the point that I don't need a concealer. Skin turnover takes a while so you have to keep at it.

I have had incredible results with Vitamin C, but I do sometimes have oxidation issues. I've tried Drunk Elephant, Tarte (my current fave), Glow Recipe, Timeless, REN, Mad Hippie and Sunday Riley. Timeless has one that is effective, cosmetically elegant, has air tight packaging, doesn't oxidize and is less than $20.00 in the US. Dr. Brenner has one also under $20.00, that is almost identical to the $135.00 Skinceuticals C Ferulic. I use my AHA right before I apply my Vitamin C, as that seems to help it absorb better.

A great and inexpensive alternative to the vitamin C serum she mentioned is from “Seoul Ceuticals,” their Day Glow Serum. It also contains vitamin E and ferulic acid. I’ve been using it for almost a year and it’s my favorite vitamin C serum (plus it’s from Korea and they just do skincare right).

@@BarbieBuiltBullies I've been observing my hyperpigmentation fading a little recently. My neck was really bad, it started lightening a few days after I started using thick moisturiser on it. For my face, I can't point out an ingredient, but my routine now includes retinoid, antioxidant serum, double cleansing, and sunscreen and making sure my skin is better hydrated. Also, making sure I don't irritate or increase sensitivity as much as possible, very important. also, generally observing my skin's current condition, using or not using products depending on current needs. Also very important. Hope this helps, but pls don't just follow this, seek what YOUR skin needs.
