I don't think there's another actor in Hollywood who's even came close to the crazy genre range of Nicolas Cage. From blockbusters to indies, action to drama, biographics to comic book adaptations, popcorn movies to artistic ones. He literally starred in any possible genre many many times. When one day he's done with acting he'll leave an amazing movie resume absolutely impossible to catch up for any actor.

This is actually based on a known phenomenon you can read about (tons of articles, even sites devoted to it) where countless people have seen the same man in their dreams over the years who always seems to be just observing. There's actually a sketch of the "man" people keep seeing, based on testimonies from the people who see him (which, oddly enough, looks like what they did with Cage's "look" in the film). It's likely just some psychological composite "man" that many people form in their heads that *seems* like the same person - but for a screenwriter to turn that into a story about an actual man being recognized as that person and his reaction to it, is a GREAT idea. I wish I'd thought of it. lol

And we tried to stuff him into "normal roles" and now he is finally getting to play a little more, who he really is! Either way enjoy the ride.

The reason I’m excited for this movie isn’t the actor or what may happen in it, but the phenomenon that it’s showing, to see someone you have never met in your dreams and then meet the same person is something I’ve actually experienced and I’m happy a movie is doing it.
@bryansuarez2396
@bryansuarez2396 6 ай бұрын
Im not here to poop on the possibility that that happened and was an interesting experience. Ive no doubt it was. But i felt you should know the science behind this. The faces we see in our dreams are composites of every face we have ever seen in our life. That alone is pretty OP of the brain to be able to do apparently. Those faces in our dreams are real faces of real people that we have seen during our life but may not know or remember. We don't fully see a face in the dream so we mostly fill out the details from memory. Or perhaps walking down the street one day in your town you saw that face. This doesnt take away the fact that you dreamed them, and then one day met them. That probably still hit and was a vibe, but youd be fooling yourself if you convinced yourself it was something more mystical than that. This is what science has claimed anyways and has told us. I know nothing for a fact even if science has claimed it does. Maybe in a few years there will be more interesting discoveries about the nature of dreaming.

I feel over the years cage has been given the opportunity to tweak and refine aspects of his acting ability so much it’s like every part he has ever done is been merged into one cohesive character to bring to life something new. He is an underrated actor that has put in the ground work doing all types of movies despite the criticism of good or bad. He is the epitome of what happens when you just do you. It’s his perceive awkward nuances that over the years people have learnt to love. Rejecting the conventional Hollywood tropes and reaching deep into the parts of himself others dare not. Weather or not it looks good, bad, ugly doesn’t matter. He is reaching for something he deeply believes in and that’s what we come to appreciate and get behind. Thankyou cage 💐

@@MrStickybunz I'm not a bot, if you were referring to me. I don't know the origin of the story but it reminds me of the type of films they used to make but are rarely made anymore with bug budgets. I personally love these types of films with a unique twist making it grounded in reality with a magical realism twist. Some films I put in that category: • The Truman Show • Stranger than fiction • Birdman • Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind • Being John Malkovich I'm a lot of things but I'm not a bot. This is the type of film that I personally love when done well, and I don't see being made anymore. Besides being entertained by a film, I prefer films that stimulate my intellect and hopefully inspire me in some way. Note: I've never been a fan of the dumbing down of film audiences with the bombardment of superhero films. I like reality, especially with a twist.

My theory for the references to Zebras is the fact that nic cage’s character is suppose to be extremely unremarkable, but the fact he pops into people’s dreams makes him extraordinary. Just like how if you take away a zebras stripes it’s just a normal horse. But why does a zebra have its stripes? It doesn’t make it blend into its environment. It doesn’t make it attract more mates. And it doesn’t really tell that much about how the zebra is. So why does he pop into people’s dreams?

Absolutely amazing film. I normally don't comment, but the concept, acting, sound, direction, cinematography, pacing - everything was perfectly balanced and executed. First movie I've seen in a long time that was REALLY original.
