Please tell me there's a "Dreamcatcher for dummies" video, cause I'm reading your explanation and I'm shocked on how much I didn't catch.

"Fly High" is probably the poppiest of the Nightmare arc. It was not done by their usual production team as well. But it makes sense, since this is a prequel, so bringing in a bit of the Minx sound makes sense to me. There are really heavy parts in it as well, which clearly state that they are not Minx anymore. And I love the dark parts thrown in, they really make the song special. The light part sung by SuA after the metal break is in major, while the rest of the song is in minor. That is why it stands out so much. They did the same in Good Night, but a lot shorter. About the MV: You can see Yoohyeon burning the spider, which brought the curse of the spider queen down on the members. You will see the spider queen again in You and I. In Native American mythology, spiders are considered protectors, that is why a Dreamcatcher resembles a spider's net. That is a brilliant connection to their name! 😊 In "You and I" you can see the spider queen coming for Yoohyeon. She is the old woman that is being photographed - only to rob Yoohyeon's spirit. Also, earlier we see Dongie being pinned to the wall by needles, what is usually done to insects. For me, Yoohyeon's spirit is being pulled out here and thrown into the white dimension, which we will see again in Piri. The spider queen takes over her body, which is why we see JiU try to free Yoohyeon (without success) and grab her neck in the end. I highly recommend to check out the dance practice as well, because Dami does something very special that didn't make it into the MV.

Fly High is the prequal: how they became nightmares. YH killing the spider, wakening the spider lady. Chase me/Godd night was about after them being nightmares. the ghost hunter tries to hunt them but they capture him instead and escape the curse and come out to our world. you & i: They opened a studio but the spider lady is going after them. she captures YH... other members r trying to save YH but fail. next is WHAT and PIRI

My opinion on the story: Fly High: The girls were cursed by a spider and turned into nightmares. You and I: Mother Spider captures Yoohyeon, who burned her son Spider, and controls Yoohyeon's mind. The other members performed witchcraft to save Yoohyeon, but failed. Yoohyeon became a villain.

My interpretation of the four first mvs: - Chase Me: the guy is trying ti chase the nightmares in this hotel. The girls do everything they can to chase him away and to make him leave but he duscovers that photo and keeps on chasing them -Good Night: the same line but this time the guy has the book that the girls are trapped in (everything that IS in the book, it happens in rl thats why they burn some pages to set them free) and then they kill him - Fly high prequel: JiU finds a spider (who is a witch) Yoohyeon kills it making the witch angry and her one by one ends up in a curse (the curse of the spider) its either the witch who chase them or some of them just surrender to the curse. Thats why you see them change. JiU is the most awake one so she decided to run and close the gate before the witch goes away so she trapped them in a nightmare being Yoohyeon (the one who kills the spider) the most affected one - You and I: JiU is still the most awake of all. A portal is open so she tries to help Yoohyeon to wake up but the witch comes back so at the end she IS still trapped in the nightmare

fly high is actually my favorite music video because it has so many interesting easter eggs. it’s the prequel to everything. basically, 7 girls living together get corrupted by **the curse of the spider** after yoohyeon burns/tortures the spider in the jar. one by one they turn into nightmares, gahyeon when in her bedroom, handong is k*lled in the bathtub (and if you didn’t notice, in her paper airplane scene she’s being watched - her phobia) there’s not much explanation from the group, they don’t even know their own lore to be honest😅 they said their series aren’t connected, but apparently they are according to a game released a few days ago?? idk. don’t beat yourself for not completely understanding on your first watch. there are tons and tons of theories that sound very accurate as well the whole crown thing is its own 2 part thing, completely separate, that’s from OOTD & new comeback JUSTICE (july 10th 6pm KST 😉)

Now is probably a good time to point out some recurring symbols they use throughout the storyline: -Spiders as the protectors of dreams; this comes from a Native American myth that spiders are the ones who weave dreamcatchers -Mirrors as portals -Photos as objects that contain the soul In Fly High, the girls live together happily and there’s clues that they were already witches prior to finding the Nightmare book. Sua and Siyeon are the first to find it in the woods and be trapped and replaced with their nightmare doppelgängers, but they can’t bring the book inside the mansion because it’s protected. Yoohyeon knows something is wrong and tries to run away, and leaving the mansion’s protection is how she gets turned. Her nightmare self then returns and kills the spider that Jiu rescued, leaving the rest of the girls’ dreams unprotected. They then leave the book in the house, where Dami finds it. Then Gahyeon and Handong. Jiu is the last, and we see her encounter her doppelgänger playing the piano. She knows she can’t fight it or the other members by herself, so her last act is to seal the gates of the mansion so the nightmare girls will be trapped there. In the ending scene, we see them cut out their portrait, presumably to hide it since again, and as we saw at the end of Chase Me, portraits contain part of the soul. Eventually, the mansion is turned into a hotel, and this is where Chase Me picks up. You and I continues the story following Good Night-the girls have freed themselves of the nightmare curse, time has passed, and they seem to run a photography studio. They are, after all, still witches, and photographs have power. However, a new evil comes to haunt them in the form of the Spider Queen, who wants revenge on Yoohyeon for what she did. She attacks and possesses her, capturing her spirit by forcing her to sit for a photo and forcing her into the nightmare realm. The other girls weren’t trying to sacrifice her-they were trying to save her. And although they seem to rid the spider queen from her body, Yoohyeon fails to make it through the portal before it closes and remains trapped.

Ok, I guess I have confused you with the OOTD (VillainS) lore with the sacrifice. That is ONLY for the VillainS duology. These videos are part of the Nightmare Arc. A little in depth explanation of the storyline: The nightmare arc in nutshell is about 7 witches taken over by their evil psyche counterparts due to the curse of the spider, eventually turning them into nightmares hunted by nightmare hunters (analogy - ghost hunter) Their goal is breaking free of the nightmare, breaking the curse and reunite. The order of the title tracks: (in order of release) Chase Me Good Night Fly High (Prequel! to the story) You and I What Piri +Breaking out (Alternate ending, Japanese title track) In Fly high you saw the beginning when they are not yet nightmares (but already young witches part of the same coven) and alive but they trap a spider and Yoohyeon tortures it unleashing a curse that will first take over JiU although at that point she does not know that she is (her evil counterpart) the source of the corruption that is coming. We will only see a girl in veil and only in Piri it is revealed that that the one under the veil is actually JiU's counterpart (evil JiU). In Fly high one by one they fall victim of the course and as a last resort JiU shuts down the mansion and locks away their photos that anchors them (as nightmares) to the physical world. In Chase Me they are already nightmares when the nightmare hunter comes to the mansion. His goal is the get the anchors so that he can trap the nightmares while they try all sorts of things to make his life an actual nightmare while hiding the location of the pictures that is hidden in room 808. So on one hand they haunt the poor guy as much as possible while they conceal all rooms as 808 so that his job is harder until the hunter actually spots them entering the room he is looking for, so he grabs an axe, gets the pictures and traps them. In Good Night they are trapped in the Dreamworld by the hunter guy, each of them in her own special nightmare. Note: If you check it on KProfile you will see that each Dreamcatcher member represents a nightmare throughout the Nightmare storyline (and ONLY in this storyline). As an example, SuA's corresponding nightmare is the Fear of restraint, that is why you see her being restrained by those root like hands. You also see the grimoire containing the spell that was used to restrain her by the hunter. But somehow you see that three of them manage to get together to perform a ritual allowing them to reach out from the Dreamworld and obtain the grimoire through a mirror that was left carelessly there by the hunter as a mistake. (note: mirrors in the storyline are almost always portals between two worlds or connections between the evil counterparts.). Now with the grimoire they can finally break the spells freeing all members. They burn the spell page that restrains SuA countering the spell and we see her restrains in flames so she can also break free. Now when they are all free of their own nightmares they wreak havoc on the poor guy, they break his Dreamcatcher that was protecting him from the nightmares and finally they break free of the Dreamworld while trapping the now defenseless guy instead there and leave the place. Unfortunately they lose the Grimoire so when Yoohyeon is captured by the spider queen responsible for the original course in You and I they will not be able to free her for a very long time. (They are looking for her throughout the entire "what" but with no success. But this is for later videos :D
