Isn't it interesting how often Link saw Zelda in disarray, sad, near tears and in tears when she was often described as never showing those emotions in public and being calm and collected? I remember reading that in Rhoam's diary. She didn't cry at 6 years old when her mom died. The same goes for Link. They really do have a connection.
@blank40853 жыл бұрын
I believe this is what Link had nightmares of even if we don't see it in the game I'm pretty sure he has nightmares about Zelda getting eaten by Ganon. When he goes into the illusory realms, the monk says ‘this realm was created from your deepest fears’ Not only that, but the illusory realm fights were basically Link reliving what the other Champions had to go through, and the thought of what was basically his family dying because he failed to do his duty 100 years ago scarred him. But it’s worse because he doesn’t know why he feels this way. Of course, this is just a headcanon, but the signs point towards him having some sort of trauma. And I mean... who wouldn’t? He lost a war, his closest friends died, one is in a constant battle with the incarnate of evil itself, and he himself technically died before being ‘brought back’ by the shrine of resurrection.

@@sheepysnowtato824 Ok! Now bear in mind that what I'm saying applies to Breath of the Wild and not other Zelda games. BotW is quite different from the others and they're almost all stand alone as well. The boy you see there is Link. He was once a knight in the kingdom of Hyrule, and personal knight of the heir to the throne Zelda. But when an ancient calamity ripped its way out of the land and tore the kingdom asunder, Link was gravely wounded trying to protect Zelda and, because he's the wielder of a legendary sword that makes him apparently the only one who can defeat this calamity, Zelda had him sealed away in a magic stasis chamber for a hundred years so he could heal up. The game takes place after that, when he awakens to a much different Hyrule than he once knew...or maybe, since he's lost almost all his memories, only having brief flashes of familiarity here and there. The girl in the dream is Zelda, titular princess and bearer of mystic powers that can overthrow the calamity. Or that's how it's supposed to go, anyway. The women in the royal line have powerful magic that Zelda's mother was supposed to teach her how to use, but her mom died before that could happen. Zelda grew up devoting herself to trying to awaken these powers, but figured that she couldn't do so, that they must have skipped her, and instead she turned to studying the recently uncovered ancient technology from when people had fought the calamity ten thousand years before. This angered her father the king, who insisted she was "playing at being a scholar" and that she needed to prioritize unlocking her powers. Zelda believed herself to be an utter failure and would take this out on Link, since things always seemed to come naturally to him. But she warmed to him over time and began to open up to him about her shortcomings and concerns. And then, calamity struck. On her 17th birthday no less (yep, all of this burden is on teenagers and it becomes all the more gut-wrenching in that context. Remember, Link is around her age too). The friends they were training with are slaughtered, and Link is nearly slain trying to protect Zelda from ancient robot guardians that the calamity possessed. But the sight of Link so wounded awakens something in Zelda, and her powers overflow the area, shutting down the possessed machines and filling her with a renewed sense of purpose. She instructs nearby soldiers to take Link to the stasis chamber, and heads off to face the calamity alone. For the past hundred years she's been holding back the evil force by herself, combating it from the inside and awaiting the day Link can finally face it. The swirling evil smoke is the calamity, aka Calamity Ganon, a primal evil that's taken many forms throughout the series but never anything like this. Sometimes Ganon is a pig demon, sometimes it's a pig man, and sometimes he's a human man named Ganondorf. But Calamity Ganon is unlike any of these, being almost a force of nature. It erupted out of Hyrule Castle and laid waste to the lands, only being kept in check by Zelda. You can see it swirling around the castle as you progress through the game, though its true form is a bit more complicated than that.

You know when you finally come across a village or stable and get that rush of relief? If you add the in-game days it takes you to get anywhere that you don't come across people, that's honestly quite of bit alone time with only monsters, your own thoughts, or a horse as company. At bare minimum you might go a day, day and a half at least. But trekking the hebra region for example could be more than an in-game week; despite the travelers on the roads, it's a very isolating, lonely, and solidary journey. Those empty areas on the map do in fact serve a purpose: to make you feel the isolation, the boredom, wishing something was happening--this is how link likely feels so he won't be lost in his own head for days at a time.

Dude this is so cool... Also when Zelda first showed up out of focus and stuff, I thought she was flickering between the different Zelda's outfits from the other games. Great animation shar! Thx for the video~

just realised that this is a flashback for link that he is seeing again, not knowing where it's from since he is in his Champion tunic in the dream but when he wakes up he's in the hylian tunic, love the attention to detail in your animations shar :D

I’ve seen it in fanfics and I think it would be kinda cute/sad as an animation ☺️😢

Yeah some people freak out after nightmares. My nightmares are usually about me dieing in horrendous ways (and no i dont have falling then hit the ground dreams, i only had one where i was falling in a black void unable to move. No splat, no nothing, only falling) but usually after i have those nightmares instead of going "oh thank god im alive" i just go *"why am i alive? Aren't i dead? Didn't i just die? Why am i alive rn?"* and honestly i never thought about it before but its such a mood.

A two year old amazing animation got me thinking about Zelda. You guys know how link doesn’t talk because he has to bear the weight and duty of having the master sword, imagine how weak and pathetic he felt after seeing it get tarnished by his very one and only enemy and at that corrupt and basically take a apiece of his arm

I have goosebumps now, this is the kind of thing that would fit so well into a Zelda movie.

@@theflipflapchannelcreatedb8160 I enjoy the big chungus meme ironically, purely because people think it's uncool and cringy. I generally like to use memes like that. We have lots of fun messing around with stuff like that in my friend group, heh.
