I've felt a bit lonely and homesick lately, which I knew I would. I'm actually surprised I haven't felt like this until now. But this is how it's like to trying to live your dream; no one ever said it would be easy! In fact, dreams are rather hard to follow, and there will be many setbacks along the way.
But there will also be moments of joy and beauty! The path will never be straight. There will be ups and downs along the road. Right now, there might be more downs than highs, but that also means it can only get better from here on out! ☺️

Someone once shared with me that we are really never alone. If we look around everything is alive, the trees, the animals, the air, the ground I think you have it in you to listen to what’s around you ….you seem like a very introspective person . Take care . I love the snow , lucky you !!

This is a true statement. Because everything you see, will also exist again, just as we will. Nothing is created to die indefinitely. Trees, grass, birds, bugs, nothing just goes away, everything has a spirit to it, and will be brought back again in a better place. I'm glad you brought this up.

Dear Daniel, I'm from Jona's channel... What you are living is really a unique and great experience, being alone with yourself. This instropection is truly valuable, as you understand now that you are part of the world, part of the universe, part of social and familial relatives. Is our purpose leads us to be alone ? where is the balance between being alone and with others ? So many questions you'll have the chance to be given the right answer. Lots of love from southern France, thinking of yu, beautiful soul !

I moved from Chicago to rural West Clare ireland and it took some adjustment. I'm an introvert too, but even introverts need interaction with others to some extent. One thing that helped me with loneliness was to join a book club. I know that may sound simple but sometimes doing one simple thing is like a reset button. For now though, I'm so happy that your parents and cousin are visiting with you! (Get a dog!) As far as a hot bath goes, maybe you should think about getting a giant tub for water that you can put in your kitchen and fill with hot water for an occasional bath, like they did in pioneer days!
@DanielErik

So nice to hear from someone who has done a similar thing! It's reassuring to hear that it takes some adjustment for most, even though it would be easier for us all if we could adjust right away! But then again, I do believe ups and downs make life interesting, and as said, we learn a lot from the downs! So there's a reason for them, as well! 😊 I really love that recommendation! I actually signed up my name on a list for a potential knitting club! I think that's something I'd love to do! We would meet once a month and knit together! ☺️ Thank you for such a nice comment! Much love to you! 💕

@@DanielErik I LOVE the idea of a knitting club! That sounds as much fun as a book club. It will be a nice way to get to know people you probably wouldn't get to know as well otherwise. On top of the enjoyment of the monthly meetings it also helps when you run into some of the people from time to time and have a familiar face to say hi to and maybe have some casual conversation.

Hi Daniel! I'm enjoying watching your content. I think this setback is so that you can take a step back and evaluate the things that you most need/want that will help to make you truly happy. I also recommend getting yourself a dog as others have suggested. Having a dog helps tremendously. Even though I live in the city, I do spend most of my time in my own company as I'm an introvert. Since I got my dog earlier this year it's been a more wholesome experience. I got mine as a rescue stray and being in her company makes everything better.

Thank you, dear Daniel Erik, for showing us even your tears… I find you really brave to move so far north and long way from the things you knew. Being alone with yourself is the most challenging school ever. And by far the most rewarding. Because you are you and so unique and valuable. I myself have so often hidden the difficult things in my own life, just because I found no one who kept on listening and caring from a young age. It kept me from listening to and being able to care for myself. I’m getting really good at it though now. So don’ t worry! So thank you once more for even sharing the hard parts of your days with us. I feel you would do well with a Labrador Retriever as a pet. They are a good size, extremely friendly, and loved to be loved. They also make great Therapy Dogs, because I work in Therapy and I've seen their interactions, and they are the best choice for people like yourself. Give this some thought, I highly doubt you'd ever regret the decision. Winter time is a time when many feel lonely, we all do to some extent, because many of us enjoy the outdoors. and don't joy in being cooped up inside like a bear hibernating, it's just not our style of living. In time, this will pass, and Spring will begin, and you will find joy as you always have.

Hey Daniel, i discovered your channel after your collab with Jonna Jinton and have spent some time watching your videos and it's been really special to see your content. Congratulations on taking the step to live your dream living closer to nature. Too seek out what inspires you and makes you happy is what everyone should be aiming for though it can bring its challenges on the way. I'm an introvert as well and seek out nature too as a safe place for me to recharge, but i do know that i need social interaction in my life as well. So for you to long for you close ones is completely understandable. Big changes in our lives are always easier to deal with when we get to go through it with some one else. Seing you letting go of Alex was really heartbreaking though i understood your reasons. Maybe in some ultimate universe he would have chosen to move to Sweden sharing lives ups and downs with you. I'm sure how ever you proceed from here will be the right direction for you. Looking forward to see your future content 🙏 You got a new subscriber - Best regards from Denmark ❤

At your age one is typically restless in their soul. Someday you'll learn to appreciate the stillness and the quiet and then one day the quiet will become deafening. Life is always in transition try to be present in the current moment and when you're alone use that time wisely. Sometimes it's okay even when you're young to rest your body, your mind and stay stationary.

As you said Daniel, we all have “moments of grief… moments where we just want to crawl down under our blankets and hide”. As I grow older, I have learned something beautiful. These moments of pain, of suffering, of despair- they are what makes us grow, become conscious, become aware and transform and unfurl into the open pure souls we all have the potential to be. Just like a caterpillar dissolves in her chrysalis to become a butterfly… it hurts. It’s hard. But the metamorphosis results in a new way of being. A new life. One where you have wings. You are growing your wings Daniel. You are not alone. This lovely community you are creating is with you. ❤xxx

Hello Daniel, I am new on your Chanel but is kind of COOL😊 🤟I moved to Sweden from Hungary almost 16 ago and I love living here in Gothenburg. In Budapest Hungary my best friend he was a very kind gay guy, we was co-workers at first. What I loved about him it was his HONESTY. A girl she will never tell you honest things but he was always super honest. This is the first connection I feelt with you here, it was your honesty, how you tell people the TRUTH good or bad dosen't matter. Definitely the NATURE🌲 is amazing but don’t forget, you are the principal actor in this movie😊 we watch all here on KZfaq. Nothing is more worth it then to be your authentic self. I spended almost 9 years alone after my separation, but I had time for myself, I had time for recovery after a hard break up, I had time to understand what I really want from life in general, I had time to invest in myself. I read a lot of books, i did many online courses , I also kind of create my own traditions. I was many time alone in Christmans time but I love it❤ I told myself:" Your time will come when you will meet someone new but until then have fun, have adventures, take risk, dare more, breath, live life"(good also for you) I traveld a lot for 2 years and after a trip in Turkey I meet the love of my life who is my husband today. For you I recommend to take a trip to Budapest they have super big and cosy bath places, I am sure you will love them, they have a lot of gay clubs and exist a big gay community very friendly. So who knows😂 maybe will be a dog or a hungarian guy😂. Keep fighting Daniel!!! For nature🌲 and for love❤

Daniel your loneliness is palpable! I send you a great big hug and hope you go knock on some doors and find some local community to get your connection and a puppy to grow with. Don’t forget, this is your life, you can be someone who spends all of your time there, or splits it between rural and travelling - choose your adventure and don’t let definitions of “success” in moving to the country define how you spend your life. I had a location astrology reading done on my podcast this week and it’s fascinating to see how different places can achieve different things for you- so for example once my kids have left home I’ll probably spent part of my year in Australia and part in Europe so that I nourish all aspects of what I need. You don’t have to be either you can be both 🌆🏔️.

Another vote for getting a dog. It will change your life in 1000 wonderful ways. Physical connection is important. The feeling of getting a real-life hug and sharing a face-to-face laugh with a friend, or even a neighbour can't be replicated by online relationships. I It also doesn't help that it's winter - but I think you're doing marvellously. You're learning what you like and what you struggle with. It's all great experience that will lead you to the right place for you in the end. It may be that you prefer being out in nature but a short drive from a city so you can see friends and be closer to amenities. You're trying out different ways of living and it's all valuable. Having a dog will provide company, a routine and a bit of warmth on the sofa though! x

We are gregarious beings Daniel, animals are too, so it is normal to feel that way. The good thing is that you have an amazing support team that is always willing to relieve your loneliness. Your love for nature doesn't mean you have to be a hermit or romanticize the grieve. Little by little you will find the balance between both worlds. I wish you will. I love your honesty and if I said something that may hurt you I apologize. Love you sweetie.

All true what you say about "No one ever said it would be easy". For many many years I dreamt about moving to Sweden and last year we finally did. Dear Daniel, why you don't heat up some water in a pot on fireplace, to take a warm bath? you don't need to wash yourself in a river or lake everytime. It also can be relaxing feeling and unusual experience. Light up candles, play your favourite music and relax in freestanding bathtub bowl. I know it can't be compared to hot bathing in your previous apartament in a city, but it could be a solution for hard times;) stay positive and remember, that happiness is inside not outside yourself. It depends from your perspective of looking at specific things. You lived in the past, in comfortable, easy way and your brain says now, that it was the best for you and force you to regret your decision. Say to yourself, that you know better what is good for you and don't discourage yourself with difficulities. All this hard situations make you a stronger person. You become more grateful for the tinnies things , thanks to that. Your heart is more sensitive. Remember: We graw up only outside of our comfort zone. Good luck! Appreciate yourself for every little step forward;) All the best from Poland.

Hello Daniel, I was very excited to see your video, in my KZfaq feed. You are never truly alone, you have all your KZfaq friends. Have you thought about spending some of your time in Stockholm , and then returning back to the country in the Spring ? This is your first time being in the country in the Winter, maybe breaking up the first Winter would be ok ? Just a thought. Are you able to get water into the house, or did you have to turn it off? Even a Lone Wolf, 🐺 wants to see other wolves sometimes. I’m glad your family came to visit , I hope they gave you big hugs 🥰 🤗. ❤

That makes me happy to hear, that you were glad to see I published a new video! 🥰 And yes, all the KZfaq friends here definitely makes everything feel less lonely! So thank you for being here! ❤️ I am planning a visit down to Stockholm kinda soon! My grandmas birthday is coming up, and I want to be there for that! ❤️ Yes, I do have water in the main house! But not in the barn, where the shower is. That's why I can only shower during summer. During winter the water would freeze, so I've shut it off down there, unfortunately! Sending you a big hug! 🥰

Heyy Daniel I’m from Jonna’s channel and I am so shocked how similar you both are in the way you talk and what you do. I can truly relate to you with the feeling of loneliness but in my case I had been feeling that way because I was not forming a meaningful, intimate relationship with anyone or nit talking about the things that mattered to me. If you have the opportunity to do that with someone you feel safe with I’d recommend it. But I believe you should cherish this time because you have all the time in the world to figure yourself out and spend time alone. There is a time for everything, you got this much love from Germany

I live in Perth Western Australia and the weather is so different of course, I love seeing all the snow it’s magical covering everything in white, next week we’re having high temperatures of 35 and 38 degrees Celsius the opposite of your weather at the moment. I would love to come to Sweden one day and see this incredible beauty for myself. I also watch Jonna’s channel and get a real sense of peace and appreciation for nature watching both your videos so thank you very much for sharing your life and journey with everyone ❤

I'm sure you have many lovely comments from people who have given you their thoughts and advice on your situation. I'll just add my 2 cents. I grew up on 40 acres of country land with farm animals. After I got married at age 22, I moved a lot due to being a military spouse. I have lived in city and in country settings and there are definitely perks to both. I think it's just one of those things...when you are in one place, you think about the other, at least to some extent. Now I am 48 and live in a small city but we also have a camp on 60 acres an hour north where there are not many people. My mom and her husband live in a town of 60 people. It takes them a very long time to drive to doctor appointments, and they have a lot of them. My mom can no longer drive due to her eyesight. They are late 70s. Watching them makes me know I should stay where it is easy to get to places as I age. You are young. I say, live it up in the country while you can! Anyway, I was very happy to see your video pop up! Very enjoyable as usual. Those skates are super cool looking. I would have been terrified on that ice. Your dad is cute and I was glad to "meet" your cousin. It's nice you are like siblings.

Sorry to hear you feel lonely. As a child I grew up in a neighborhood as a young girl will all the other kids being boys. I learned to love my own company and find ways to do all the things I love by myself!!!! I am now 78 and so thankful I did that. As you age you can become isolated so it is a great comfort to me that I enjoy being alone. Also the weather and lack of sunlight affect us all. You may need one of the special lights that duplicates the sunlight. When faced with adversity it is telling what you are doing is not working so you need to find a new way of dealing with reality. Find new interests that keep you occupied. New areas of interest that surround you!!! Stop focusing on the past focus on what you can do in the now to improve your situation and make you happy!!!!!!!!!

Your dad is like my grandpa in the Netherlands. At the first possible opportunity to ice skate, he would take me to the lake nearby, wrap a rope around his middle, the other end he would give to me and he would step onto the ice, telling me to pull him out if he did go through. I think I was 10 or younger? Probably not strong enough to pull him out if he did go, but that was how he'd always done it. He skated the Elfstedentocht five times. (11 city tour?) He always had ice fever! I remember the way the ice would crack and sing just like it did in this video. Only with thin ice and when you're the first putting weight on it does it sing like that for you. It is scary but the experience in itself is beautiful. We never fell through.

My new dear friend, Daniel… Thank you for your sweet and lovely, gentle spirit and for being on this planet. ❤️✨ I am so much like both you and Jonna in most every way (including being vegan, having lived in a van and being at home in nature 🕊️), and am so happy that I get to experience your lives through you and with you. Thank you for sharing and for allowing us along. 🙏 Yes, even in the US we use the term “lone wolf” and I am one as well. I can relate to so much of what you’re going through, not only the adjustment to being completely alone, but also the drastic changes of lifestyle. I’ve had much trauma and misfortune in my life and there are too many details to go into, but my advice is to keep doing what you seem to be already doing, which is to stay in the moment and to be grateful for what you have. I have learned that rarely does everything align perfectly and that everything is a trade off, and with each new experience there is inevitably some grieving of the past - or parts of the past. I think there is no comparison to all the quiet and mystical beauty that you are now surrounded by - nor the sense of fulfillment and accomplishment. I feel as though once you get your car fixed - and perhaps rescue a furry companion, and even perhaps rig a way to take a hot shower, things will balance out a little bit better, and it will feel as though you have the best of both worlds. I’m rooting for you. ❤️✨❤️

I've only ice-skated twice and that was at an indoor ice-skating rink. I was terrified both times and hung on the side of the rink, so I'm amazed that you had the courage to skate on thin ice. Fortunately your dad's experience was reassuring. ⛸❄ I'm reminded of Joni Mitchell's "I wish I had a river that I could skate away on" watching you skate in the wilderness of Sweden. Your Nordic ice skates look pretty awesome too. It's hard being lonely, so different from being alone, but it really makes one appreciate and value our loved ones. You miss your hot baths in Stockholm but maybe if you bought a large galvanized tub and poured some warm water into it, you could savor a bath in your home the old-fashion way before indoor plumbing. Take care!

Daniel, I can imagine you feel lonely. Must be hard, yet you persevere. That deserves respect and admiration. Remember though, even in a city you can feel lonely. What is worse? Being on your own in the country and the wild, something you really enjoy or feeling lonely in a city with masses of people around you? A dog though might be a good idea, a boyfriend even better, both perhaps best! 😉Know that really you're never alone. the people that love you always think about you.
