When I was 12 years old (56 years ago) I fell head over heels for Davy Jones. My first crush and I adored him. He was the cutest, sweetest guy. I bugged my mother for every teen magazine that had his pic on the cover. In those days the teen mags had two page, sometimes four page, posters inside of the featured artist. Davy was soooo popular. The walls of my room were plastered with his face. The hightlight of my young life was seeing him in concert in my home town with The Monkees. I thought my heart would burst out of my chest. Aw, to be young again.

I instantly like him! What a great personality. They were a bit before my time but I remember seeing them here and there and always liked Davey. Like a young Dudley Moore.

The Monkey's was a really great act. Songs, Saturday TV show... mainstream pop sound.
