This mixture can be dangerous in large amounts. Olive oil and lemon is an aggressive liver cleanse. In some it can cause pain and huge drama. Putting it on the salad is ok, but not drinking the concoction., not so much. Olive oil and apple cider vinegar is a great salad dressing. Shake a-small amount of onion and garlic powder over your lettuce toss it to cover all, and then drizzle your olive oil /apple cider vinegar dressing over it. For a pop of sweetness, you can add cut up, grapes, dried cranberries.

I lived in southern Spain for about a year, back a while ago, and I can tell you that olive oils sold in places here are only PART olive oil, mixed with other oils. I know this because fresh organic first cold pressed olive oils is bitter, with a distinct bitter after taste, and with a with a fruity olive taste. The xtra virgin cold pressed oil was served as an appetizer in basically all restaurants, bars, and outdoor food stands, along with salted fish, also in olive oil. That taste, though I tasted it decades ago, is incomparable to today's olive oils.

Nope, the olives are ripe when harvested. It is difficult to extract oil from unripened olives. The olives offered everywhere, as I said, as an appetizer, were ripe, soft, unsalted, fruity, and bitter. @@venkvelaga

I have heard from multiple people who have visited Italy, Spain and Greece and even seen videos on KZfaq that much of Olive Oil in USA (about 70%) is adulterated and not pure extra virgin olive oil and mixed with rancid olive oil or other seed oils. There are big olive oil mafias all over Europe and North Africa that make a lot of money by rebranding and marketing and selling cheap low quality olive oil as high quality for a lot of money. Taste (Bitterness, Fruity, Grassy, Herby, Buttery, etc.) varies by country and region and extraction and bottling process and how fresh or how soon you consume (typically within 12 months of harvest)

Well, I also did an experiment on my mom's friend who is 86 and she's been living with high blood pressure for many years. After 6 months of taking only 1tbl spoon of good quality olive oil (on an empty stomach, in the morning) her blood pressure normalized at 120/80 and she stopped taking medicine. I did this on myself before but I didn't have any health problems so I could not tell exactly what happened except that I noticed that I feel better and have less fat on my body. So, in my case 1tbl spoon of good quality of olive oil does magic.

Interesting experiment. Thank you for sharing. One set of markers you did not address was Omega-6 fatty acid related. The 100 tbs of olive oil has about 1400 grams of Omega-6. An extra 14 grams of Omega-6 daily is a significant increase and would most likely affect the Omega-6 to Omega-3 ratio. However, this impact may not be detectable after only 10 days.

Just to make it clear for people. Both extra virgin and refined olive oils have essentially the same fatty acid profile. 100% Refined olive oil which means no virgin oils mixed in is around 70% Oleic acid and 1.5% linoleic only a tiny difference compared to extra virgin. "extra light" Olive oil would be the closest to pure refined olive oil on the market as most of the refined variety of olive oils on the market have some extra virgin olive oil mixed in to give it a slight aroma and taste. So you're still getting some of the minerals and vitamins and antioxidants from the extra virgin as well. Regardless of the type of olive oil, it has the same fatty acid profile, with very very minuscule differences in terms of oleic vs linoleic acid ratio. 100% Refined olive has a tiny bit more linoleic but by half a percentage point. I wouldn't worry too much about finding the most extra extra virgin oil possible. It doesn't really matter. What matters is the fatty acid profile.

The speaker in the video ate 100 tablespoons of olive oil in 10 days and analyzed the effects on their blood. It was found that consuming this amount of olive oil did not significantly impact their blood glucose control or insulin resistance. They also discussed the importance of finding foods that can absorb the oil and advised against overeating. The blood work results showed a slight decrease in sodium levels and an increase in inflammation markers. However, there were no major negative impacts on cholesterol levels. The speaker highlighted the margin of error in blood work and the need to look at trends rather than individual values. Also emphasized that monounsaturated and saturated fats from high-quality sources are equally healthy. Overall, the video suggests that individual responses may vary, and monitoring relevant markers is crucial for assessing the risk of heart disease.

Make sure you have a good level of magnesium in your diet as magnesium is vital for the potassium to be able to get into your cells. I take 500 mg magnesium glycinate each day. Magnesium is required for the proper functioning of potassium channels, which are responsible for the movement of potassium ions into cells Hypomagnesemia, a condition characterized by low levels of magnesium in the blood, often occurs alongside hypokalemia (low blood potassium levels) While magnesium is not directly involved in the transport of potassium into cells, it does help to maintain the right balance of potassium in the body 1. In fact, magnesium deficiency can lead to a decrease in intracellular potassium levels, which can cause a range of symptoms such as muscle weakness, cramps, and arrhythmias.

As a kid, I grew up eating Mediterranean diet, it wasn't the best and it wasn't the worst either but when I moved to the US back in 2008, I was in my early 20s and I found that i was following the American diet *unknowingly* Just eating what most people eat 😮 It took me 10 years to realize that the standard American diet is the worst diet in the world and the best diet that kept me fit and healthy was a low carb diet.

when you reduces glucose intake you need make more glucose through neoglycogenesis, increasing catabolic hormones: glucagon, cortisol GH adrenaline and noradrenaline. The insuline is couterbalancing the other hormones and reducing lipolisis. Reduce carbs has sense if you have high sugar, but some people has any methabolic defects that make this counterproductive An average healthy person can make about 80 grams of glucose through neoglycogenesis When fasting triglycerides are high it is because lipolysis is low, often it has to do with adrenal fatigue, which also leads to weight gain and insulin resistance.

I'm now suspicious of lab work for cholesterol. Some labs have been caught elevating the levels of cholesterol because doctors requested them to do so so they could prescribe meds. One of the docs I follow knew the labs for his patient were wrong, not quite right. So he called and questioned the lab and they told him that. He was livid and told them if they didn't do the labs right from now on he'd report them. I've never had even close to high cholesterol and two years ago I did. I'm glad to see the levels you posted because she tried to tell me mine was really high and wanted me to be on meds. I declined. My levels are similar to the range you posted here.

As another comment suggested. The quality of the extra virgin olive oil can make a big difference. If the olive oil is old or has been oxidized due to light or air over time, it gets rid of any health benefits. High poly phenol count is important for this test. Most grocery store olive oil is nowhere the quality of smaller organic olive oil making companies with harvest and pressing dates less than 12 months. I do love your videos and how you break down the cholesterol logic. People and doctors are so obsessed with the number and so fast to put you on statins.

When i was younger i never ate breakfast. I just didn't feel hungry. Its only the last 15 year or so, i learned myself to do so, because it supposed to be the right way. And now i am undoing that with IF 😅 My son is 13 and doesnt want to have breakfast in the morning either. He wont eat until 12 or even 1-2 pm, unless i kind of force him. I used to push him alot, telling him he needs the energy to grow and to learn. But is this the truth and necessary or should i just let him be, trust that he actually listens to his body better than we do? Im not sure and just want to do what best for my son. He is not skinny (nor fat) by the way and he also keep growing, so nothing wrong there. Hope you will find the time to answer my question. Thank you so much and i will keep follow your channel.

Dr. E., First- you are amazing and I love your classes. I think you should do this experiment with less olive oil and no wine ( unless you drink that every day- if not trying it during this experiment made too many inputs and can’t measure the single change which was the olive oil.) Anyway, you simply over ate calorically with that much olive oil and your body gave you that response. In 10 days try only 3-5T olive oil, each day. ( thats still a-lotT ) 30-50 T in 10 days. This should change the red high markers and can change your sleep and stress. However living this way will increase you lipids but they will level off unless there is something wrong and you will see that “wrong” with the body in other symptoms.
