Dr. Ekberg: Do you happen to disagree with the "medical society agreement" on that saturated fats raises triglyceride levels? Very curious to know your view on this topic! Perhaps an idea for a new video explaining the function of triglycerides in the blood and how saturated fats in diet relates to those? ;-)

@@patriciacarlyle9456 Yes, I saw that one back when he posted it, but that one mainly focused on explaining why higher LDL levels(bad cholesterol) isn't always necessarily "bad". hi doc I'm struggling.., I havnt eaten meat for nearly three years apart from good fish like mackerel and wild salmon and it's not sustainable, I really want to go keto but it seems impossible if you don't eat meat?, I've heard and seen loads of stuff on how the vegan diet is best for you and there's alot of health problems associated with eating meats and dairy yet you seem to have some of the best knowledge I have come across online which is contradictory to the latter.. I'm lost in what direction to go? do I start eating meat again to fit in with a keto diet or do I carry on failing at trying to be a vegetarian on keto, obviously you eat meat so I would love to hear your opinion on this! thanks for all the content and unrivalled info! In the fall of 2019, My ALT and AST's were extremely high. (101 and 103) I was diagnosed with fatty liver disease. The doctor started talking biopsy, medication, and even transplant. When I asked if there was anything I could do, he said, "You could stop eating sugar, But you won't. " I told him I'd see him in ninety days. I went home and threw out everything in my house that had sugar or turned to sugar in the system. I began a strict keto diet. Ninety days later, I had lost sixteen pounds , and went back to the doctor to have a new battery of blood tests. My counts were now thirty one and thirty three. The doctor was astounded. In one year from my initial visit I was able to reverse my liver damage. Although I lost a significant amount of weight, I did not Diet to get slimmer, but to get healthy. Now, it is simply a way of life.

The biggest moment of this video was that people are given the exact opposite advice to get rid of a fatty liver. I got rid of my pregnant look by eating fatty meat and cruciferous green vegetables. I progressed to strict keto and I fast 19:5 every day, whilst only consuming two meals per day. I've lost 103 pounds, reversed prediabetes and kept it that way for two years. All thanks to the correct information.

I also work in the medical field but I find it sad that the mainstream medical doctors follow a very outdated book written several decades ago. I believe we should look at the data and the results. More current examples would be things like Hi fat diets versus low-fat diets and the results. The recent situations with vaccines also is an example and if specialist or doctors spoke against the political agenda which science is always supposed to question, they were snapped out. True science looks at every angle and perspective and questions pastdata so that progress can be made. I am not condoning everything this person says but I do question many mainstream techniques used by modern physicians, especially when they use outdated material.

Couple of months ago was diagnosed with a mild fatty liver-ultrasound. My Doctor said no problem everyone in North America has a fatty liver. Right…. So I did a keto diet with intermittent fasting and re-did my test after 2 months. Results were NORMAL!!!! So ya don’t listen to the Doc!!! It’s totally reversible if it’s just a fatty liver-not cirrhosis.

I had Nash 1 and was able to heal my liver in just a few months with intermittent fasting and high fat diet. My gastroenterologist told me to go one a low fat diet because I had a non working gallbladder also. I told her Nah, low carb high fat. Her face was of disappointment. I go back 6 months later with normal enzymes and a ct scan that showed no more fat and it wasn’t enlarged. I thought she would be happy but she shut me down when I started to tell her my diet works lol. Gotta love it.

I did my blood test yesterday after 5 weeks of 100% no carbohydrates no sugar no fruits no starch no red meat diet. My Liver panel test result shown AST , ALT , GGT level all perfect! Far from its top range. Just 5 weeks. My fatty liver is reversed to healthy normal. I lost 4-5kg just from dieting and stop eating after 7pm till next day lunch. 2 meals a day. Only boiled using water, steam Fish , tofu , cabbage broccoli veggies , chicken breast , black coffee no sugar for afternoon lunch and green tea no sugar during evening dinner not later than 7pm. After 7pm I fast till next day lunch 12pm. The fasting time is extremely important as this time allows digestion and some hunger which makes our body burn the fat within without exercising. Exercising barely able to reach the fat around our liver. So fasting is the effective way. I had No milk (contain high fat and high sugar) . No snacks. No all kind of bread which still are carbohydrates. No cake. No biscuits. No rice. No noodles. No fruits especially as it’s fructose are directly process only by our liver! Just 5 weeks and fatty liver is back to normal with proven liver function blood test compared to my previous test result 5 weeks ago. I feel very lively light and positive. I lost 5kg. Also My cholesterol and sugar level were also extremely good blood test result! I m looking way younger and my body is nicer too. I m 33 years old male. Non smoker non alcoholic. Didn’t work in a toxic environment. I didn’t exercise. But I ate much rice , fatty red meat, and milk and cookies and fruits. I slept late before. Now I kicked those bad habit n bad diet. After recovered from fatty liver, I continue my way of eating n fasting n sleeping time. I reintroduced some healthy carbohydrates back into my diet. Such as some corn carrot , some wheat bread, a little potatoes. Please make sure u do not overdo it. I really mean only some. Lack of discipline and taking it for granted will cause regrets. I’m sharing for mankind and for those who were helpless from useless doctors. And I’m sharing in memory of my late father who passed away due to end stage liver disease.

When I still had health coverage, I was told, after blood tests and a liver ultrasound, to not drink for a year. But they didn't say what was wrong or ask if I drank. I don't drink more than one of two drinks a year. Been going through a nasty divorce over 10 years. Maybe it's the medication I've been in 50 years. Not overweight. Can't afford meat. After giving up bread fir years, it's one of the cheapest ways to stay alive now. My omad might just be toast and coffee

It's so true. I'm no expert, but I have learnt so much over the past 6 years changing old habits. 1. No more teeth issues 2. No more allergy I had for 18 years 3. Spots gone 4. Dry skin fixed Etc It took time of just adjusting things, but it gradually improved. Just think about what you are doing often and try changing it for a month and see what improves or not. Don't bother trying to take fix it with creams or whatever, whilst continuing with the same eating/drinking habits. You will just waste money on products, whilst the issue never gets fixed. If you stop the old habits and fix it without products, you save money on both together. If you can't go 1 month without sugar, soda, etc, then you must admit to yourself that you may have a problem 😉👍

@@thetree7694 It is very difficult to offer any assistance because we all have different situations. Some basics I eat mostly wholefoods. Nuts, berries, cheese, plenty of vegetables, fish, eggs and occasional some meat (Once a fortnight) If you go keto there is little to no carbs. Your experience of hunger will change dramatically. Start skipping meals, seriously ask yourself if you are actually hungry of just eating out of habit. If you can get down to 2 meals per day, 4 hours apart your body will adapt surprisingly quick I am down to 1 meal per day. I eat mid afternoon and if I am REALLY hungry I will have a snack a few hours later (usually a half a cup of mixed nuts and 2 slices of cheese) My first fast was 3 days, water only and it was rough. But you come out of it knowing alot more about your body and your willpower I have only been walking, started catching the train to work and generally keeping a bit more active, nothing special and no hard exercise. I was squadded to the ER for Respiratory Distress secondary to CV in Dec 2020. Shortly after arriving a stat CT was performed and I was diagnosed with Non Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease. Due to decades of steroids and the S.A.D diet I was 45 lbs overweight with mostly visceral fatty. Now, all of my labs had been perfect just a month before, but here I was with a blood glucose over 400! I was put on Metformin and insulin. Upon release I was sent home with just a double dose of Metformin and was told that the NAFLD was simply how it was. What?! The Metformin caused me to go into acidosis! I spent the next 6 weeks recovering and researching. Then, I jumped into Clean Keto with both feet. Followed by IF the next month. Despite a setback in Sept 2021 from an anaphylactic reaction and again in Jan 2021 from CV with a total of 4 rounds of steroids I am healing! My A1C is 5.6, my labs are better than ever, I lost 28lbs, but am up 11 from the steroids, BUT I am off inhaled steroids for my asthma, I look and feel younger, my NAFLD is resolving, I have more energy and sleep better.

@@BonnieM93 metformin is not helping you to cure the cause, it only maintains the safe levels but with side effects of course. Cut sugar and unhealthy carbs completely from your daily life and you will reverse your diabetes. Any drug out there causes more damage to your body in the long run than help you. It just makes your life a bit longer. Please use your own judgment and research how to reverse your diabetes. And when I say cut sugar from your daily life I meant 100%. Pay attention to every item you buy at the grocery store and do t buy anything that has Added Sugar on the label. I hope you get better. Unfortunately, the liver is the endless worker of the body and symptoms appear very late in the progression of the disease. Then, it all depends on how young you are because there are very few options except transplant. That was the case for my father. I am really glad that there is growing awareness of this as I would not wish what my family went through on anyone else. It progresses very quickly so prevention is key.

Dr Ekburg you are wonderful! So clear and concise in your explanations. I understand everything you say. Your thyroid video too was great. Thank you for not using any music or background noise in your videos. I have subscribed and will continue to listen to your excellent advice 😀
