Every objection to dry fasting could also be applied to water fasting. You need food to survive. If you stop eating you will eventually die. Yet somehow people survive fasting and get enormous benefits from it. Likewise, people survive dry fasting and get far more benefits than water fasting

This is a great video and so true...but the purpose of a dry fast is that for this compressed time (one to three days) is to speed up the process of cleansing by forcing the body to become its own incinerator and our bodies create its own water from hydrogen inside of the excess fat cells in the body...so yes i agree with you but this dry fast is great if done correctly

I never fail to learn something with each new video. 👍 For a while now I was rarely drinking enough water so I searched for a reminder app for my phone, and now use that app to monitor water intake. You specify the daily total intake desired and how many times during a predetermined time period you wish to be alerted, and you receive a reminder at intervals throughout the day. The app has different vessels shown, so it's simply a case of pressing the appropriate vessel and that particular volume will be added to the running total. My drinking habits have changed for the better and I now drink more regularly and never reach the point of feeling thirsty.

Another fantastic video from Dr. Ekberg! You knocked it out of the ballpark once again. That bit in the beginning about the angle of the hydrogen molecules blew my mind!! I took chemistry in high school and we covered H2O, but nothing was mentioned about the significance of their angle. I still can’t stop thinking about it. Also your comparison of humans to camels, dolphins, beavers, and the happy hopping mouse was very interesting. Once again, well done.

When I used to drink a lot of water (and I mean only a litre a day) I used to find myself more thirsty and could never quench my thirst. Now I just drink when I’m thirsty and feel much better. I don’t believe in forcing yourself to drink. Yes water is a solvent and it can remove the minerals from things like mud for the plant species. When my parents were young it was recommended to drink just 2-3 cups a day

You did a great job in talking about Water. I am following the Japanese water therapy for 15 years or so. The difference in how do you feel before/after is enormous. I would say, Water is everything related to life itself like, thinking, moving, working, playing, making love and having a good quality of life. During years I observed a curios thing, the more water you drink the more you will be drinking, but, the less you will drink the less you will feel the need to drink. I think the explanation for this is related to electrical signals in our body, like no water, no signal, less water less signals. This situation could become dangerous if the brain does not get signals from other organs.

Good advice as always, thanks, Dr. Ekberg. I never understood why some people tell you to drink 9 glasses of water at least daily when you would get quite a bit of "water" in by just eating or having a soup. I wonder though: would you like to do a video on "dry fasting" at some point? I'd like to hear an expert opinion about it. Some people swear by it but it sounds very dangerous to not drink or eat anything for up to 3 days(hydration wise). I guess 1 day is fine for a healthy adult, maybe 2 will also work but 3 seems to be pushing it, especially when you're somewhat active and/or it's hot.
@-whackd
@-whackd 9 ай бұрын
there was value in it for me because it helped me realize that i often have water or zero calorie drinks out of habit, rather than from genuine need. I now wait for genuine thirst, and therefore i waste less time on unconscious and unproductive activity. Likely there was an element of addiction because black tea and coffee contained caffeine. I think people who are still battling health problems should not go beyond a day with dry fasting. You can probably do what the Muslims do, but I would wait until youre more robust and healthy before going beyond a day.

@@drekberg Very nice job done. Just add a few points though. When water evaporates it cools the temperature a lot through latent heat. Camel and other desert animals generate metabolic water as well. Water is a universal solvent because of several factors: small size, being dipolar, ionizable etc. Thirsty is triggered by hyperosmolarity as well as low blood pressure (chemoreceptors and baroreceptors).

Who invented human body? (Or any body in nature). After listening these videos I am more and more amazed. Of course, I knew that nature is a miracle, but now even more I am in aw. We know so little about the home of our soul. We take better care about our cars than our body. You do not put diesel in the engine that needs gas. But we put anything in a human body, without questioning.

Great information! I'm prone to kidney stones, and my kidneys let me know--yes, they talk to me, lol--and if I'm not good to them, they let me know! Is distilled water better for we who are prone to kidney stones? I have it on hand but don't drink it exclusively. Thank you, Dr. Ekberg!

I finished a 6 day dry fast. It got really bad on day 5: the heart was beating with a force that shook my belly and the bed. The mouth was filled with slime. The tubes that connect the ears and the throat opened. Urinated two times a day the color of coffee, and had to flush it twice. I didn't feel an urge to drink except when seeing images of food, an hardly sweatted at all. Being under sunlight made me feel dizzy, still without sweat (and no need to take a shower). Did not come any close to fainting, but had a brief loss of vision after getting up from sleep. Amazing how much water goes back in without coming out. I've regained food and water weight of 6 kg within one day, and urinated hardly more than during my fasting. At first I feared my kidneys had imploded. I find strange how English speakers throw around the word "dehydrated" for mundane situations. They don't say "thirsty," in need of a drink after a trip outdoors. But speak as if they emerged from a science laboratory. Also words like hybernating, masticating, perspirating etc. I confirmed that there is enough water reserve that we don't need to carry a tank with us on the road, and that it's not really important to refill the water slowly. I drank 1 kg of water within minutes and an additional 1 kg in the next hour. I seem to crave salt, but can't say if it's for the savory taste. Once I tried drinking a totally obscene amount of water. It came out over the course of 8 hours.

7 day dry fast next? One you get used to dry fasting it gets alot alot easier. I done 5 7 day dry fasts and aim for twice a year in the cooler months. Some say dry fasting is bad, some say its the best thing for you. Me personally find I am stronger and healthier around 2 weeks after recovering after the dry fast. All my spots go and cravings go. I also appreciate the simple things in life. So for me dry fasting is the best.

I have dry fasted a few times in the past and the longest I’ve gone was about 7-8 days and it’s done wonders for me and is better than water fasting in my opinion, however I find that your pre fasting regimen plays a major role in your dry fasting journey. So if your diet was bad for weeks, months, even years with much sugar, refined and artificial sugars, processed foods etc it’ll be a bad experience overall. With that being said how you prepare and break your fast is what determines how it’ll be. Hopefully that wasn’t the case with you because dry fasting heals better than any other method ik even medicine. If you should decide to try again I hope that it works out the way it should, so you can see the positive progression! 👍🏽🤗💯

I have completed 7 days. I guess the often repeated claim of 3 days has been debunked. But I did wash myself unlike some challengers I've seen online. The byproducts that come out are nasty. I have doubts that those celebrities didn't wash themselves. It could be realistic if only saltwater was available. I've spent 20-40 minutes under the sun each day. The increase in heat provoked thirst and discomfort in the chest. My body mass decreased by close to 1 kg per day, stabilizing today at 0.5 kg decrease for a 62 kg total when I stopped urinating. The end is near. I've also lost ability to sleep near the end. I think I'm prompted to be alert and seek a water source. I'm going to binge drink soon from a spring water. I feel strength coming from nowhere to do that. I have previously felt that drinking while fasting agitates my stomach for food, and I lose some microelements and feel weaker. I only have access to basic salt and ascorbic isolated.

August Dunning has a lot of videos about dry fasting. Says coming out of the fast is the most important part of the fast. You definitely want to get in water during the dry fast to help the lymphatic system flush out toxins. He highly suggest breaking a fat by drinking 8-12 oz of filtered water with 1/2-1 tsp of baking soda over 45-60 minutes and then a quart of coconut water over the next 2 hours and then tangy tangerine electrolyte mix with carbonated water( it braised the citric acid) then do an enema to flush the toxins out and have some bone broth. Eat soups, broths over the next couple days while adequately hydrating yourself and then incorporate regular foods around the 3-4th day after breaking the fast. More than willing to learn anything from y’all and hopes this helps in the future

@@j7ndominica051dehydrated is not the same as thirsty. I can show signs of dehydration, I still dont feel thirsty. Even on a dry fast, i dont feel thirst! Do dont worry about English use of various words! There are valid reasons... Most of the time. Maybe not with bureaucracy , but other things, yes, the bigger words can be necessary. Also, congrats on the fasting. You must have a very strong mind! I am getting used to dry fasting, myself! Its so different to water fasting!!

..Sounds good...Poverty is a major health problem, this needs to be addressed...People are fighting a war of attrition and worse, to hold on to their homes, possessions, family, and life...That has been my case for about a decade...Using an electric heater and hot plate for years, is not easy.... Right now I am just getting food stamps at least...They say i am on SSI, but I haven't gotten a penny of SSI...The banks, credit businesses, etc seem to be withholding rights to funds...Help government agencies are not assisting properly... Terrorism, harassments, vandalism, high tech manipulation, etc are out of control for decades around this city..My parents are missing....Staying as healthy as possible, is vital to handling this....Law enforcement seems to be apart of these trouble makers and crooks...Any suggestions?

You can drink water a lot and still be dehydrated when you for example are stressed spiritually and in youth; we all have been forced with such things to believe in religion, science and society that removing stress to 0 is near to impossible but You can drink no water and have a lot connection in cells with water and liquids and always be in good hydration

I dry fast at least four days a week. I replaced my intermittent fasting with it. I drink a bottle of water every night before bed usually about 9:30. The next morning I don’t eat or drink until 2pm. I have noticed my blood pressure no longer runs high and my doctor took me off my BP medicine. My indigestion no longer bothers me and my joints have stopped aching. I have not made any changes to my diet but I’ve always ate well and in moderation. I respect doctors and mine is even impressed with the results that I have seen but I’m also religious and the Bible instructs us to fast. When an animal is not feeling well it instinctively does not eat or drink for longer periods of time. During Ramadan people of Muslim faith abstain from food and water from dawn to dusk for 30 days and studies have shown that their health improves during this time.
