Had exactly the same issue. A quick 15 minutes repair saved me from having to buy a new one. Thanks a lot mate!

This broken wire was EXACTLY what caused my Dremel 3000 to suddenly stop working. The fix you demonstrated worked beautifully and helped save my nearly-new Dremel from the trash. Thanks for sharing!

Sir, you have made me fix my dremel without hitting it a hammer or using black magic!
@whereisgibson
Same issue, wire snapped off the coil at the connector. Ended up positioning it near the connector and then dumping hot solder in the gap to bridge it. Works again. Thanks for posting!

Thank you for this video, I checked mine and it was an open at the terminal. However, it was terminal end of the beginning of the spool, so I had to unwind the wire to get to the damaged end, then manually re-wind the wire. But none the less, it worked. Thank you. I was about to through the unit away and buy a new one. Thank you very much.

This worked for me - can't believe the repair was so easy.... I was concentrating so hard, copying your video moment for moment, that when you dropped the camera I leapt out of my skin and nearly wiped out all the bits I had spread neatly on the workbench! Great fix, thanks very much!

Not as easy as the cable was wound tightly behind the stack, but still managed it. It's just pot luck which side of the wind goes I guess.

It wasn't so easy to find my broken wire as all wires were in the brackets, but after using a multi-meter I could clearly confirm I had the same problem. I actually had 2 Dremel 3000's fail the same way, with the same problem. Thanks for the helpful video!

Awesome! I actually found a slightly different failure mode, but wouldn’t have found it without your video. One of the motor winding connectors had come out of the receiving block. I only realized it when I looked back down at your video on my phone and noticed the tiny metal part sitting on my screen!
