I was born in Dakar. I lived there the first 8-years of my life. I miss it so much. I can still picture the church; my house, my grandmother’s house, my school, the beach, and downtown. I remember it all. I want to go back and visit. I still have a lot of families who still reside there. Such beautiful, kind people. I knew every single person who lived down my street. If I did not want to eat my mother’s cooking, I just went to any of my neighbors house, and was treated like I was one of their own children. You felt safe there. You didn’t even need to lock your doors. Most importantly, I never knew what racism was, until I came to US. Everyone was treated as human beings, not the color of their skin. We saw no color of skin, just humans.

I was in Senegal last week. Very friendly people. We were guests at a house on my last day. The housemaster would cut off meat and put it on my side of the tray. That was nice. Never saw anything like it before.

I visited Prague this year and in my hotel there was a souvenir shop owned by a Senegalese and He was very Generous and Kind to us and He infact gifted me and a friend of mine a fridge magnet since we were the first customers for the Day. I wish I visit this Beautiful Country of Senegal One Day
