I can't tell you how much I appreciate the tiny house videos. My wife and I want to build a tiny house, so I'm thankful to have a reference like this available.

another youtuber I know does a few tiny house builds is laura kampf (she's also in the middle/nearing the end of retrofitting a full sized house - which was a journey she didn't know she was on til it was too late lol) she's done a few trailer-camper ones, a horse box camper, one that's about the size of Drew's (maybe a little smaller). Not saying Drew's isn't great, it really is but multiple sources of inspiration, ideas and builds is always a good thing. (not sponsored, just a fan)

Morvaz, never wait; start with tiny birdhouses. Just start doing what you love. Life is amazing, so don't wait to do the things you love to do. I'm a girl, well, an old one now, I never waited, and now I have experience in just about everything. Except for being an astronaut. LOL

Just do what you want to do. You are the only one stopping you. Your first few (hell even 1000) projects can be utter crap but as long as you enjoy doing it, then that is all that matters. I'm a guy buy grew up trying to make everything I do perfect and was miserable as soon as I just started jumping into the stuff I enjoyed life got a whole lot better. I wish you luck on your journey!

When I saw your shoulder was hurting in the video before you mentioned anything I was thinking, please take care of yourself and don’t destroy your body trying to rush these videos out for us. I hope others would agree that we would rather wait longer for great videos like this and the rest of the house so long as you’re taking care of yourself. You only have one body after all so please treat it well! Hopefully you get better soon. This said, I am immensely enjoying this build series. I have been wanting to build a tiny house myself for a long time and seeing what you and others do, how you build them and what your thought processes are is so amazing and insightful to a girl who has barely touched any power tools. You guys make me wanna learn so I can build things myself and make things that suit my personal tastes that I can’t find on the standard market. I can’t wait to see the rest of the interior and how you go about giving it all those little touches that take it from Tiny House to Home Sweet Home. Cheers from KY!

I love that your channel has gone from "Here's a cool fire pit" to "Here's my (soon to be) fully functional, livable, tiny home on wheels. My favorite bit is that everything you do is really cool and seems really complex and difficult, yet you condense it into an easy to consume video that makes anyone feel like they could do what you do. I've done a ton of construction in the past and did not enjoy it, but you make it look incredibly appealing and fun and it makes me wish I still did it

I have no interest in carpentry or living in a tiny home but I really enjoy watching something being built from the ground up. You're the only one on KZfaq who does in depth videos during your builds and that's extremely helpful in understanding what's going on. I know a lot of people interested in pursuing projects of their own also appreciate your in depth explanations. Looking forward to the rest of the build!

Yay for me!!! I got my first DBS merch today! I bought the "Drew Hub" black t-shirt, and I love it. The fabric is a really nice weight - it's not one of those tissue-thin shirts. It is durably made, and the graphic on the front seems like it is there to stay. I don't think it will wear away after a few wash cycles. I'm looking forward to having people ask me what the shirt means so I can tell them about this awesome KZfaq channel. If you are considering getting one, I don't think you will be disappointed by what you receive. And no, Drew did not put me up to making this post. I'm doing it because I like the channel so much, and because I'm really pleased with the shirt. After we get through the sweltering hot summer, I'll probably order a hoodie for cool weather wear.

Welcome back to YT... I sympathize with your shoulder pain. I was grimacing with you even before your mention of the problem and PT resolution. This is an amazing journey. One observation: grounding to a gas line may have seemed expedient but is DANGEROUS. add another grounding clamp to the pipe just outside the tiny house.. when you move to your final destination drive a copper rod into the physical ground and connect it to the exterior grounding strap. Gas and electricity are a deadly combination. Wishing you and your family a blessed week filled with gentle seasonally appropriate weather and restful evenings. Peace Drew

@@DrewBuildsStuff In my country, while planning for which locations the electrical wirings need to pass, they first install some special spiral conduits/pipes which runs through the whole house so that the electrical cables can pass through them. Flexibility and Maneuverability: Spiral conduits with electrical cables are made of flexible materials, allowing them to be easily bent and twisted during cable transportation. This makes cable assembly and transportation more convenient. Durability: Spiral conduits are typically made from materials resistant to impacts, abrasion, and chemical effects. This feature protects the electrical cables from external factors. Cable Protection: Prioritizing the protection of the electrical cable passing through them from external influences helps prevent damage and breakage and prevent other potential hazards. On each conjunction where cables meet, they also add conjunction caps/boxes on upper part of the walls (close to the ceilings) so that in future, you can just open these conjunction caps and add new or replace existing electrical cables when needed. It also takes away the additional cost of having to break down walls to replace old or faulty wirings because the wires are running freely inside these spirals (you just simply need to disconnect both ends and pull out the old cable and run a new cable via the guiding wire). Spiral conduits with electrical cables passing through them are modern solutions designed to meet the need for safely and orderly transporting electrical cables. Thanks to their flexible structures and durability, they are widely used in various industrial and household applications.

Ex electrician here, I'd have gone with 12 copper instead of 14, you can put more load on it for regular outlets and not worry about breakers or fire if you plug in too many things. You should still be ok, just may have to take care how much power you draw for things like TVs, appliances, etc. Your care on the interior was fantastic, loved the design, innovation and execution of your work is an inspiration. Can't wait to see the next video, and yes, pulling out your caulk was smoothly done. Hope we see more. OF? LOL... New subscriber just because of all the effort you put in. Great job!

I have car siding on a few of my walls, I stained and sealed them myself and had the carpenters install them because it was superfast for them. They didn't put the nails in the tongue. The nails aren't very visible, after seeing how you have an invisible installation, man. And the ceiling looks amazing with the oil, really brings out the beauty of the grain.

I have seen a lot of tiny house builds in my existence, and (though I'm not exactly a professional) this is one of the most incredible tiny houses i've seen in terms of using space smartly; the tall shower and walk-in-loft are incredible inventions; I thought it was so cool I even texted my mom a screenshot in the middle of watching the video, lol!!! While I look forward to each new video, be sure to take as much time off for your shoulder, humans are not invincible even if KZfaq makes them out to be. Thanks for the amazing content.

Boy, you really are a workaholic and incredibly creative. How is it that you know how to do all this stuff at such a young age? I love that you used a lot of wood and the oil is definitely a richer look. I was wondering, did you ever think of making a few window sills for a cat to sit on? A cat needs a window sill. Your tiny home is very beautiful and so well constructed. I can hardly wait for the next video.

afaik he has a dog but no cats - he has a previous video where he built his dog an outdoor, heated, dog house for over the winter because he/she likes to be outside.
@mabdub
@mabdub 23 күн бұрын
@@MaxRide1 Thanks, I saw the heated doghouse video. In a tiny house it's probably better to have a small pet like a cat. Cats love to sit or lay in front of windows especially if they are indoor cats so that's why I was hoping that Drew would include at least two window sills for the cat to sit on or lay down on. I don't have a cat but I bet whoever buys this tiny house will already have a cat or want to get a cat. Whoever buys it will probably be a single person or a young couple without any kids so in the meantime they will probably want a pet, a small pet, probably a cat. I'm just guessing.

It looks really nice. A rule I learned about flooring is that you always start with the longest run. So the flooring should run down the length of the building. This minimizes the chance of getting off of straight.

I saved up a bunch of free time to watch this. Fascinating to follow along with Drew, and to think - hey, maybe I could build that? (which I almost certainly could not, but that's ok too). Thanks for sharing this instalment in the exciting adventures of Tiny House! Oh and - I think you're right that the oil look is best for the cedar finish.

I have a little trick when I am using spackle, for smaller holes, and patching. I put it either with my finger, or a putty knife. I wait till it starts to set, and wipe it with a damp clean cloth. It smooths the surface, and I rarely have to do any sanding, unless its a bigger spot. I think this might work great on wood putty, and would save your shoulders from all that pain. I agree that sanding the pieces of wood, before putting them in, would have been easier for you as well.

I have 0 intention (or skills required) to build a tiny house and yet equally cannot stop watching people (you, laura kampf, chad zuber... although his are made out of clay) build tiny houses 😅 The build is going great so far - love that you chose to not paint all of the wood. I like both the unoiled + oiled cedar; I think oiling it makes it warmer so if cosy is what you're going for, oiling is the way to go, plus a little protection won't go amiss. Aside from that, the only thing (and this is personal taste) I'd change is to not have wood panelling on the walls as it's also on the ceiling/floor. My brain/eyes would need a break from all the lines so I'd probably put in some flat plaster/painted walls for my own taste/sanity lol but you do you - I'm not the one living in it! Good to see you take care of your shoulder instead of just pushing through, take the time you need (always) to take care of yourself. There's nae point in building a tiny house if you cannae live in it because yer body ain't up to it. Waiting (im)patiently for the next one - really want to see what you come up with for the furnishings too (since I highly doubt yer gonna buy it in... I mean, you could but you don't seem the type) Love fe Scotland
