Me: buys herb seeds, plant seeds, waits patiently for them to grow, dry them and then give them to my hamster. My hamster: collects all the herbs, takes them into corner, pees on it. 🙃🙃🙃🙃🙃🙃🙃 i love life.

Well people say hamsters can’t control or just don’t control where they poop well hmm. That must me a lie bc my hamster always and I mean always poops in her bowl I clean it twice a night...... thx coconut 🥺😂🙄

doggylover xoxo yes I’ve been told that hamsters are usually pretty clean and will go to the bathroom in one location... I unfortunately got a messy hamster and he poops and pees everywhere. I wish he pooped in his sand bath (he will pee there) as it would make spot cleaning possible... he even poops where he stores his food. I have to remove everything and ruin his tunnel system weekly to clean up his mess. I feel bad.

I'm late to the party but just wound up with a hamster and I'm learning. So, here's the list of safe flowers/herbs she gave if you're wanting it! Rose buds Candula petals Cornflowers Chamomile Sunflower petals Hibiscus flowers Echinacia Parsley stalks Raspberry leafs Nettle leafs Dandelion leafs Dill Blackberry leafs Basil Plantain leafs Birch leaves Blueberry leafs Peppermint leafs (debatable due to amount being fed and lack of research)

Having a little herb garden isn’t just for cooking! You can grow hamster safe herb garden for your viewing pleasure. I personally am trying to sprout a baby herb bed for my hamster, we named her Rhoomba. The hamster not the plants lol. Growing plants is hard...

A great mix thing of Herb's is the Rosewood Nature's salad and if you live in the u.s. you can get it from Walmart

I just recently impulse bought a long-hair syrian hamster and got everything I should not have, but after watching many of your videos I have built Roxanne a diy enclosure and can't wait to see her thrive in her new environment. My hamster absolutely loves it when I sprinkle herbs around his cage! I think herbs looks great in a natural cage theme aswell I have rose wood herbs mix and I’d like to make my own herb mix for him soon! 🤩

@@soph4850 make sure you brush his teeth regular and give him chews occasionally. You can make natural toothpaste with half baking soda and coconut oil (check out Rachel Fusaro)

@@Yeewen88 despite the popular layman ideas coconut oil is bad news for dogs because they are so prone to pancreatitis from too much fat, and coconut oil is pure fat (14g of fat in a 14 gram tablespoon!). "Good" fat or bad doesn't matter to a dog's body. Store-bought pet toothpaste is fine and you often won't need to brush at all if you give a quality VOHC-approved dental chew every night e.g. Purina Dentalife.

People in USA: you can find lots of this stuff at your local co-op (you can Google "local co-op"), also Walmart has started carrying some of the Rosewood brand stuff (including the dried herbs!). Tori, this is an excellent video! I've been feeding herbs for a long time, but I've been wondering about the flowers. I'm planning on going to the co-op this week to see what they have! I've also looked at some online retailers so that I can order anything they don't have at the co-op. 👍 Daisy says hi! 🌼

I just found your videos and realized that my hamsters tank isn’t big enough. I have a Robo dwarf hamster and I thought a 20 gal tank was fine, I didn’t realize it was too small! I feel awful, I just want her to be happy and healthy! I have to wait about 2 months until my birthday to get her a 40 gallon breeder tank. I’ve been binging your vids and thank you so much! Because of you my pet will be happier and healthier! I really appreciate your videos!

I use herbs and flowers 2-3 times a week as an in between for their main food :) my hamsters don’t like peppermint leaves so at least that’s not a concern for me 🙈 but they love chamomile at the moment

Yay I'm so exited because i FINALLY upgraded my hammies enclosure, to a bigger bin cage, i used to have only a 336 square inch bin cage but now i have a 608-612 sqaure inch bin cage, and it's so much bigger and I'm so exited!

My hamster doesn't like herbs- So that one time I bought food for my hamster (that died 2 yrs ago), it's like a mix of a lot of healthy foods for hamsters, I put it in her plate thing (forgot the word) I saw a herb. I was like: OMG! EAT IT! (I wasn't loud tho) (I sead that in my mind ) Then I gave it to her and she was like: Nuh, uh! I ain't eating this! She put it in her mouth for a second....and then she "spit" it out......

Today I was bath bonding with my hamster and put toys etc in there she was very soppy to me and climbed on me and let me hold/pet her and hand feed her I've only had her for 2 weeks ! You have helped me so much thank you so much x

I’m a Chicken nugget hi! I own a gerbil and yes you can give them herbs! Not all the same herbs that are safe for hamsters are safe for gerbils tho 🙂 I’ve done some online research to find answers to which ones are okay and which are not, raspberry leaves and dandelion leaves seem to be a safe choice so far.

I have found at walmart you can get this thing called natures salad for hamsters and mice its just a bag of dried herbs and flowers for actually pretty cheap

I am growing Rosemary and Mint on my porch, and I have given small sprigs that I pruned from the plants to my hamster. I don't prune the plants a lot, so she never gets a whole lot of the plant material. But she does like them and runs towards them as soon as she smells them. So I'm willing to bet it's safe. Hamsters are smart about what they eat usually from my experience.

I mean I wouldn't exactly go by that when it comes to domesticated animals, just like onions aren't safe for dogs but when my dog was a puppy she dug them up and ate them causing herself to get sick lol A wild animal on the other hand would be different.

@@VictoriaRaechel well, if they made my hamster sick, she probably wouldn't continue eating them every time I put them in there for more than a year. I know she actively avoids the little green triangular pieces in her hamster food like they were the plague. Still can't figure out why. I usually just gather those up and feed them to my mice.

Just wanted to let you know that in america at Walmart They carry rosewood dried herbs and i use it my hammy loves it and i have used it for other hamsters also. So look at the pet section in Walmart if you want some and u live in the US

Yes! Here within the UK I actually grabbed two packs of timothy hay and rose petal by rosewood from p@h (pets at home) today, i hadn't seen any youtube videos but I knew rose petal and timothy hay were definitely safe for hamsters... smell really good! He doesn't seem a fan of the rose petals just yet, but I think it's his first ever time encountering them so it may be a time thing. I guess I can just add them in every so often when they lose their smell to make the cage scented nicely. But will look into others for my hammy!

Hi Tori! I have just recently found your channel and I absolutely LOVE it. I’ve always thought my Syrian had a pretty good cage until I saw your cage review videos, i’ve been using sawdust as bedding, and the floorspace definitely isn’t as good as it could be! I’ve just bought a new detolf cage and i’m so excited to add all the new accessories and proper bedding into it. You’ve really helped improve so many hammy lives!!!! Thank you!❤️❤️❤️

I love this!! I have a bun and chinchillas I love supplementing with herbs and I just adopted a hamster for the first time! So happy to hear I can give them herbs as well!!
