It takes some learning. Don't go so fast, and when you kick it out, floor the accelerator for a second to get the tires spinning. I'd also avoid wet track. It's very unpredictable.

@@armaniortiz6011 it is a broken system they introduced as a beta in the US, which gives you a score based on your driving behavior which determins your insurance fees if you opt for Teslas one. The problem with it is that it sometimes punishes you for normal behaviour or encourages risky behaviour by running red lights rather than breaking aggressively for example. I actually wonder if phantom breaking also affects the score negatively.

Track mode doesn’t effect safety score

I pop the accelerator to start the drift, then heel/toe mid range to keep it going. I can almost drift all day in one charge. Almost.

Yes, it absolutely can. All power can be sent to the back wheels, and also, for track driving, you can adjust power percentage from front to back in 5% increments.

@@NoName49467 I agree and disagree. If an angle kit were available the car could hold drifts longer. Initiating drift is easy and an Ebrake isn’t necessary with all the torque available in an instant. For a factory setting I think it’s a good start but needs some tuning.

In my defense it was the first track day I had with the car. Drifting a tesla is not like drifting other cars, but I'm still doing it. And getting better every time.

I’ve beaten the car up pretty good. If you don’t count needing alignment work after drift events, the car holds up flawlessly. As long as you avoid walls. Do you think it could fall apart? A new car with track settings?

Strange, I’ve taken the car to 8 drift events, haven’t screwed anything up besides a headlight. And that was my fault not the cars.

@@11Tits lost the drift, went gently into the wall, and only cracked the lens. I got very lucky considering damage only cost about $250. I installed the new one myself to save labor $$.
