I noticed in the final game, after you bug Dimitri's office, Dimitri had dialogue referring to a helicopter as his "eyes in the sky". I was a little confused as to what he was referring to, but it turns out, it was leftover dialogue from the Alpha here. Very interesting.

The loot inside the buildings makes the layout of the interiors make more sense. I remember finding all those hidden areas and found them empty without purpose.

interesting that i never thought they would have sly 2 models in the same style of sly 1. it just goes to show that the development evolved greatly since the alpha version. I didn't even know this existed til now. Wish stuff like this caught more attention. Especially since it's crucial because it is something we have never seen before. In fact I didn't even know an alpha build or prototypes existed, I always thought gaming companies just threw their stuff away like Japanese developers had done in the past. Real interesting stuff.

The helicopter was a neat little thing to have. They should’ve kept it in as a an emergency exit ticket almost. But still interesting stuff here since I grown up with this franchise so this gives me a lot of nostalgia ❤️🤘🍕

For anyone waiting for Part 2, it was getting close to completion, but then Sony Vegas did what it's known for doing and corrupted the project file. That's the only reason for the delay that I'm aware of.

6:40 explains so much... in the remastered version during the final Paris mission when you bring down the peacock sign and have to defend the truck from goons I noticd if you spammed the circle button sly would just keep flying up instead of down (why j spammed the circle button couldn't tell ya). I thought it was a bug or glitch cool to see it was an original mechanic that was scrapped and somehow must have made its way into the game in just that one moment in the remastered version my gusse by mistake. Regardless neat to know there was intention behind that in early demos.

If not, is this build open to people who are willing to give it a go on real PS2 hardware? I want to see if those textures are also corrupted on real hardware, or if the health bar occasionally glitches in the same manner

Glad they cut the helicopter from the final game, that looked pointless just for entering a courtyard, thing that is done better in the final version. Strangely, the rats had a pink beret in my demo, i don’t think it was the alpha, the few missions in it were from the final version.
