It certainly makes the prospect of training and mentoring the next generation of drillers more accessible too, as the lead driller can free up time to coach, instruct, and oversee the transfer of knowledge for workforce and crew development.

Cheers Bill. The one consistent challenge no matter what decade we are drilling in will be adverse weather conditions! The black tubing are plastic pipes which form a 'loop' which is lowered into the borehole and eventually is connected to the Heat Pump which transfers the heat into or out of the building into these buried vertical loops.

Thanks for the feedback @warriorlumni08 - What was impressive to watch with this driller, is that he's not trying to be a hotshot - with the right equipment he is relaxed, multi-tasking, collaborating with his second man if advantageous, he has made time to check the other equipment in the system, freed up resources to finish grouting previous boreholes, not had to do any manual handling, in fact pretty much all of the downward drilling is being easily managed by a single lead driller and minimising safety risks to himself and the crew in the process.
