Drilling Out Riveted Ball Joints - 2001 Dodge Ram TIMELAPSE

In this video I show the method I used to drill out the rivers on the bottom ball joint of this 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 2WD. I purchased a corded hammer drill, chisel, hole puncher, and a really good drill bit set for around $60 from Walmart to get this job done.
I have the video sped up x10 to help show how long it took me to remove these fat bottom rivets just using a drill for the most part to clear it out. This job took me about an hour to do the bottom ball joint rivets and 20 minutes for the top. The top ball joint is much easier to just drill out. Hope this video is useful to show a good realistic view of how long it can take to drill out these truck rivets.

An angle grinder with a carbon cutting blade mite have been a little faster,but it was a good video and very good effort bravo sir

man ive been trying to find a video on my chevy Silverado 2wd and couldn't find any videos on how to take the revits out this help me hope alot thanks 👊

No problem! Yeah these rivets are a pain in the ass, but definitely doable 👍🏼

Yeah I’m sure there’s some easier ways to do it with the right tools, but I figured I would show this method since a standard drill was all I had for it

Would it not be easier to use an angle grinder or go from underneath? Sorry if that's a daft question we have different type in uk.

I tryed the angle grinder on my chevy Silverado and i was getting no were lol using the drill is alot easyer
