AliExpress!! It might not be the best, but it can be awfully cheap! The Junkviews, where we pinch the pennies as hard as we dare!
This is the Junkview of a nameless 1.9" crawler tire, which says "Super $wamper Rocks Tyre" on the sidewall and is (best as I can determine) an approximation of the RC4WD Scrambler.

When I was working I could spend spend spend on tires, wheels, servos, etc, But now that I’m retired I pinch the pennies on RC parts and accessories and I'm having more fun than ever and my rigs are just as competitive than when I was spending the big money, that why I really enjoy your channel.

That's why I test the junk! Sure, like 1 in 8 (maybe) is actually decent, but hey.

Usually if I have gear issues, I'll replace the plastic housing too. Sometimes they can get a little flex in the housing that moves just enough to allow the gears to skip & damage themselves

Thanks for the after credit letting us know what was going on with Baseline. Fantastic job as always on the junk view. Make a toga with pepper tree branches and slather yourself in Citronella. Blasted knats...

I have these tires and have done some videos on them in my Amazon tire test vids and they are a decent tire. I agree with wear they will become a better tire. These tires are hell on dirt though they dig a hole fast if you get stuck. A gnarly tread pattern with staggered high tread and huge lugs on the side make this tire a great contender for a rock bouncer or a mud truck. I seal all my tires so i go with a med foam so i still have support on side hills. I did test these on a slick side hill alone with other Amazon tires and they did pass but they did struggle a bit in the beginning of the course.

The tread kinda' reminds me of a Trepator (on steroids), although these look like they work better (not a trepador fan). @ 36:20 "if you are the hiking trail down by the creek, with wet rocks and tree roots" haha, I did mention that type of terrain in my comment on your last video. One of the guys I go trailing with has an element truck and his front diff did the same thing his first season out with it. The following season the rear diff did the same. I really want to get an element truck to add to my collection, but not a fan of the fragile diff gears. One of my original SCX10's has 8 seasons on it and a crazy amount of run-hours, and the original diffs are still going strong, it refuses to die.

The Rock$ Tyre and the Scramblers are a take on the 1:1 Maxxis Trepador. I've had these tires in a Amazon list for awhile now.

Clicking sounds like it could be the internal bearing for the diff pinion, was always a problem with the original element axles which the SE has tried to improve on

Though if youre still running the bushings... not sure, could have worn the bushing or chipped a tooth somewhere in the front diff

What would happen if you made a few hundred forbidden chocolate chips by the way of shorter lugs? I swear you can see the front stutter when that click happens.

Might be able to use those foams for a double bun. Use the foam for the side wall part, by triming some off. Top it with the hair tie you use. Idk, just a thought

Have you got any videos on adding a rear portal axle to like a element or a scx10 but still run the straight axle in the front? I wanna try this with one of my elements, but the gear ratio is kind of got me smack in my head. Thanks bud.
@CrawlerCanyon
@CrawlerCanyon Жыл бұрын
So you're going to be going to (based on no other changes) 40% rear UD, which is... a lot. You can fine tune the ratios with the gears in the box-- running a Stealth X backwards would give you 5 or 11 percent front overdrive, so you'd have 35 or 29 percent final underdrive in the rear. With a 10.2, you'd change out the ring and pinion to a bigger overdrive to balance out the portals. I can say this: don't put a TRX-4 axle on the back unless you want to change every gear on the rig-- it's a massive gear reduction in the portals. If you're using an AR45P, you can further change the reduction by changing the portal gears. I still have a mullet build on my imaginary to-do list. Seems fiddly, which is right in my wheelhouse.
@danweiss1371
@danweiss1371 Жыл бұрын
@@CrawlerCanyon Man I appreciate the information big time I was thinking the same thing about the TRX axles but the gear ratio would be way far off. They are geared lol for the second gear transmission. But a AR 45 I thought it would be closer, so going to be the way I go. I seen a guy at a competition with a rig like described. He said he kept the straight axle in the front for the super tight turning radius portal in the back for a better break over. I have an extra element V2 kit I need to do something with. Again, thanks I’m sure I’ll have more questions for you. If you build yours first. I guarantee I’ll watch every bit of it. Lol have a great day.

Bug spray does the same thing to me as 99% of sunblock-- it "holds all the water in," like I've been made waterproof. I need the bug equivalent of SunX30, which is the only sunblock I can use. On the bike I went to sun sleeves and gloves, no sunscreen at all. Also, anything scented and the wife won't let me in the house. I'd have to spray down with the hose in the yard.
