I believe Magic Spice adds more attacks to your magic finishers to increase its range, like Fire has extra 6 fireballs at the end.

Hey, in case someone didn't mention it yet, the damage of wisdom form's shots is in fact affected by the magic stat. The reason why you don't see any change in your tests is because of KH2's damage scaling. You are either below the damage floor (level 1 perhaps) or way past the damage cap (level 99?) of the world you're in, in which case the scaling negates the change in your stats from the keyblade.

I love how when you’re at the abilities you also have the display of gameplay of what the ability is. It’s like getting an ability in Devil May Cry and I hope Sqaure does this as well

I hadn’t thought about Wisdom Form and Blitz Form both having a flame motif and mobility abilities until you pointed it out. That is pretty interesting.

Great video, thanks for the breakdown! I've always loved the Wisdowm Form, especially after becoming more familiar with Kingdom Hearts 2's combat system outside of spamming X. The way magic works with the enemies and the sheer damaging and control potential of magics like Firaga, Reflecga or Magnega make them incredibly satisfying to use. Add the mobility, animations and breakdance-esque movements of Wisdom Form to that and you really get to want to just fight whatever enemy you can possibly find. Brace yourself to spent quite a bit of money, though, as Ethers are quite expense, even during the end game... 1:53 As far as I know, the "Magic Spice" Ability of Wisdom Form enhances the visuals and range of magic finishers. You've given a few good example throughout the video such as Firaga summoning 6 orbs of fire in addition to the base form's Firaga. The Magic Finisher itself does the same amount of damage as the base form's. 5:12 I've found a small misconception in the magic section: The Magnet magic of Wisdom Form is a bit different from what you've described. Rather than damaging the enemies normally, they are only hurt by the first pull of the magic, which works identical to the base form of Sora. After that, enemies bounce off of one another, hurting each other while continuously being pulled into the Magnet again. The difference here whencompared to simply being damaged being that, if you only have 1 enemy, it will not bounce, resulting in the magnet working exactly the same as the base form's Magnet.

Here's a tactic: perform the shoot to save MP, then the finisher don't shoot. Instead immediately (use shortcuts) use a magic to activate its finisher spice. Ex. Sora Shoots regular shots -> Thunder => Save Mp and cover more AoE for damage.

You should also do videos on Sora's base forms, all of these are very informative and it would be cool to have breakdowns for them

Wisdom to me represents Sora's knowledge and magical aptitude. Donald being used in the Form further cements this fact since he's a magician, a role that requires you to be knowledgeable in how to use magic and/or use the elements that comprise the world around you to cast spells, it also requires you to have some level of understanding of the balance of the world.

These videos remind me of how cool Drives are. I hope they add Keyblades in 3 that let you get forms that resemble Drives.

This is amazing! This is also my least used form. It´s also my least favorite form, but it´s still a bit fun to use. Thanks to this video, I think I´ll use it more.

Thanks for this analysis! I'm going through KH2 for the first time and, like you, I prefer close-range combat with the Keyblade. So, Wisdom Form doesn't get much use from me, and it doesn't help that there's no training area that allows me to practice the forms since I don't want to drain the Drive Gauge. I wanted to find a video that would show me the uses for Wisdom Form that I wasn't quite seeing, and this analysis certainly helped!

Holy cow, I’ve never noticed all those little touches & movements when he uses magic in Wisdom Form. Also never knew that the Halloween Town masks when in a Drive Form are based on FF characters like with Valor! Wisdom’s kind of looks like Vivi!

I think I would've preferred if Wisdom form's Shoot can hit vertical enemies more easily. Also, if Shoot's sound efx is more crispier (like firing a gun) rather than just pew pew pew, I would've loved it more.

One of the only things I’d change about this form is to give it a air combo and some kinda secondary finisher for both also I never noticed that he held the keyblade like a shotgun for the blizzard finisher lol but it happens so fast I dunno if it’s really noticeable in real time 👀 some crazy small details in each form’s animations that really go unappreciated because Sora was just so damn fast 😏

I found out with wisdom form that quick run was how we got air slide, cause if you quick run off a platform, you dash in the air.

When u talk about the chain in ultimate keyblade form change in KH3 a few video ago, i always though it looks like the wisdom form projectiles in KH 2. Now that i have a closer looks, doesnt it looks like the chain? Maybe the ultimate weapon chain is a reference to this too i donno

At the end of the video, when you said about how maybe mobility was becoming a focused trait since this game, with Wisdom Form being a start, something like a test, and continuing on with Birth by Sleep and so on, that made me think. Wouldn’t Ventus be seen as a step in this process? In Birth By Sleep, he’s supposed to be the single fastest character, with Aqua being the strongest magic character. That would mark a full split between magic and mobility as attributes. At the same time, as you pointed out, Ven’s idle animation was pretty similar to Sora’s here in Wisdom Form. Ven’s attacks follow the same sort of quick-footed motion as Wisdom Form, and one of the Command Styles, Sky Climber, exclusive to Ven and Aqua, lets them hover constantly, like Wisdom Form. Maybe I’m stretching my assumptions a little too much, but these were some points I found in common. I never played Union Cross, so I can’t take anything from there, but there might be from others like Dream Drop Distance and 358/2 Days. What are your thoughts on all this?

Wisdom Form is my personal favorite form in KH2. I like being able to MOVE while doing things so I have less of a chance to get hit. It has saved my butt so many times in Critical Level One.

What amazes me is that there’s a possibility that there was a Keyblade wielder during the War that was just raising hell with magic mastery and doing things like this.

Wisdom was my favorite of each form when I was a kid (playing the original KH2, not FM,) I just thought the way Sora moves in Wisdom form and the way the outfit looks were the coolest thing in the game. ...Except I outright refused to use magic as a kid. I was a very stupid kid, lol. Nowadays, I have a much greater appreciation for magic options in KH in general, so in a way, my old favorite form just got better and better in my eyes with time. I won't deny though, nowdays my favorite is probably either Final or Limit. Wisdom still has that special place in my heart, however.

If we were able to "toggle" the different forms on/off, then Wisdom form would be the one I'd main. though I rarely used ANY of the forms back in the day, as I thought that they were situational... but ended up neglecting them.

Thought this might be a good place to ask, but I seem to be experiencing a problem where wisdom form is not gaining any xp but I am definitely defeating heartless. The form is still level 1 but has a few points of xp so I did something right at some point. For reference I am at the second visit to Hallow bastion, about to head to space paranoids I think. Is there something special about getting the xp like does it have to be a certain type or heartless or does sora have to get the killing blow cus I’m very confused and would like to level the form for its benefits
