In this video I review the newest hot hatch, the 2023 Toyota Corolla GR. The GR Corolla has a 300 HP engine mated to a 6-speed manual and has AWD. Can this take down the Golf R and Civic Type R?

They were still developing this engine and they used funds from the gr86 redesign sales to complete it 😂

@@steve8803 Yep. Toyota found a way to bring these cars to market. Remember for the longest time Toyota as a company could not even justify the costs of bringing us a new Supra, but now we don't only have a new GR Supra, but and new GR 86 and a new GR Corolla and all in manuals. Just yesterday while picking up my car at the Toyota dealer I had a chance to see and sit in a GR Corolla Cuitcut Edition which was on the showroom floor and that car has to be seen in person so be appreciated. We are not talking vaporware here. In a short time, Toyota gave us 3 amazing sports cars and that is not something I take for granted PLUS with each one you get 2 years of free oil changes and maintenance with their Toyota Care program. How many other sports cars offer that? Well done Toyota. Well done.

So lucky to get one. Our Toyota dealer wanted to make it fair for everyone and did a lottery. We won the second lottery (BTW, no markup). Sooooo fun to drive. Love this car.

You talk about the price, but the large majority of dealerships are slapping on outrageous mark ups. The GR Corolla is at risk for being ruined by dealerships just like the Focus RS 🙄

I just drove a core version of this car. Probably the most fun car I ever driven. I thought nothing could be more fun than the Fiesta ST I had. What made my test drive special to me was I got to go alone. The GR Corolla I drove was a Toyota rep. car with 4500 miles on it, so the dealer didn't care how far I went or how long I took. He just tossed the keys to me, and said have fun. I did.

Do all your circuit editions in the 🇺🇸 have the red stitching inside? The one I just bought and waiting for delivery doesn’t have the red stitching in 🇨🇦🤔. Also I just realized that the 🇺🇸 you have white circuit editions but no black ones and it’s the opposite in 🇨🇦

Damn bro already got a wheel rashed, that sucks. Repairs aren't too bad. I had one done, as quoted 130-150 depending on how bad, about a 2 inch grind like yours and it was 130 on the bill when i picked it up. I asked when i dropped it off; what can i expect it to look like? (Given in paying 2/3 the cost of a new wheel) they said i wouldn't even be able to tell it was repaired and they were right. I was very pleased with the shops job. I drove 45 minutes away to the shop with the most/ best reviews but it was worth it

Have a similar idea, but I'll stick to my 4runner for daily. Hopefully I can find the financial capability to order an Emira before they end production. My Corolla circuit is due to my dealership by the end of June

@@jean-frederickjacques6780 While waiting on mine, I got a call from VW saying they had a Golf R. I was on the list for both and was taking the first one available. Got the R, way more potential and the interiors are night and day

The main problem with the Focus rs was the stiffness of the ride. The GRC doesn’t suffer from that nearly as much

The Morizo is essentially what the Integra Type R is to the base Integra. It's got over 300 extra welds in the body for rigidity. It was similar with the ITR. You would never be able to replicate a true ITR unless you ripped it apart and basically remanufactured it with all of the extra welds. That's why the Morizo cost as much as it does. For the average enthusiast buyer though it's not necessary.
