Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married June 2013 and quickly caught the #travel bug! We started “travel hacking” & finally decided we wanted to travel for one year. After 2 years of saving $ and over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016. We started this #travelvlog to share our experiences with friends and family, then decided we really liked vlogging and traveling! After achieving our new goal of 100 countries before 2020 and all 7 continents, we have no plans to slow down anytime soon, and we are incredibly thankful to do something we love every day. :)

I live in Seattle. That Orca sighting with its young is a once in a lifetime treasure. Kudos for you to double the miracle by catching it so artfully on film.

Same! I have taken the ferry a million times and only seen orcas once! The fact they saw them AND caught it on camera was amazing!

This video really reminds me what I love about the US. You can just get in the car and drive... and see all different places, different climates, different cuisines. You can go from the hottest desserts to the coldest mountains. It's so incredibly beautiful and liberating and one thing about our country that is really unique. Sadly, all of this is on hold in 2020, but it's always there, beckoning, waiting to be explored.

Missing the ferry is like a western Washington rite of passage, it wouldn't be the same if you hadn't done it! :) Plus, ORCAS!!! WHAT?! I grew up in western Washington and I've NEVER seen the orcas in the sound!! What a great opportunity for yall!

One of the beauties of Washington is how it’s surrounded by water! I own a beach on Lopez island. (In the San Juan Islands) & when we’re there it’s truly a sight with all orca, seal, & sea lion! On our private beach it has an amazing waterfront view of the Olympic mountains, and that’s view is almost the whole island. If you even come back here it would be awesome of you to explore Lopez island, or Friday harbor & vlog it. I love your vids so much and hope you come back to Washington!

Kara and Nate are the most responsible Travel KZfaqrs. All the Travel KZfaqrs I follow resumed traveling abroad in summer 2020, except for Kara and Nate who changed their plans and are responsible enough to stay in the US. I appreciate this about them

Hey guys ... I want to say thank you! I am a truck driver and when i first started i went to Snoqualmie pass... it was so beautiful... driving up that big mountain with the fog overhead... such a peaceful site... the giant trees looking like their marching down the mountain to the edge of the road just to greet you.. i loved that place but i didn't really know how much until your video... tears welled up in my eyes the minute i saw that mountain ⛰.... My parents where in Washington in early October, and they got to see huge orcas swim right under neath them in their kayaks. And it’s the first time whales Where spotted in that location in 40 yrs.

I am even more SO SORRY that life is handing you these setbacks. I was so looking forward to this trip. I know you'll find a way to keep pressing on, it's what you do, and so beautifully and joyfully. Just a tough day today and I'm venting against so much that I can't even mention. Ferry life is WA life... reminds me of my grandma. She used to take me on the ferry every other weekend. As a kid, that was a fun treat.

I feel like traveling like this is going to get really tricky. East coast I think will be pretty much off limits. In PA, you must either test negative within 72 hours before entering the commonwealth or quarantine for 14 days (quarantine, despite many thinking the contrary, means not going *anywhere* for 14 days).

@@JennaBrown That is so true but at least you guys in BC are not so bad to try living in Toronto's massive population of millions of Anti-Mask protestors, not enough fines and the Municipal Government isn't doing anything. They are just pleading to people to co-operate but people don't that's why effective Monday the 23rd of November we're getting tougher restrictions even possibly going into our provincial government's colour coted chart of gray zone which means another lockdown

Congratulations, I love watching how you two overcome obstacles. Even missing the ferry turns into a blessing. How rare it is to watch a whale with her baby! I have no doubt your change in plans due to Covid will turn into a positive. You overcame the obstacles a hater reporting you. Personally avoiding National Parks have made your videos more interesting.

After four and a half months I have finally caught up to your current videos! Thank you so much for getting me through this pandemic with your wonderful travel vlogs. Because of you I’ve tried so many new foods (I’d never heard of Khao Soy before and now it’s my new favorite splurge meal!), and am already making my own list of countries I plan to visit one day. My current travel goal has been to go to all 50 states before I turn 50, and I’ve already made it to 30! Thank you for restoring my travel bug! And thank you for introducing me to the world through your videos ❤️
